For background of where my comment comes from understand I'm a Republican, a McCain supporter and disappointed the Condi Rice had no interest in running even after the draft Codi movement that rose up within my party at the start of the primaries.
The video shows us some racist individual morons with a couple choice quotes. Beyond that, I suggest you see past what the videographer and editor is feeding you.
1. There was a crowd of pissed McCain supporters. Why so angry? Maybe because they came to a McCain rally to be confronted by sign-carrying Obama supporters. How warmly would McCain chanting supporters be welcomed at an Obama rally?
2. Were the Obama supporters shouting anything rude and provocative? Obviously not. They were silently waving their signs in slow motion to hip, upbeat music as the video shows. Opposition that shows up at a prearranged political rally would never be rude. Right.

If you are so easily lead to judge a large group of people by a small number of individuals fed to you by the media (even small indy web media manipulators can use misleading techniques) then you may be past being able to think for yourself.

Me? I'll choose not to judge all Obama supporters by a few worst examples, who would say hateful things like, "A perfect opportunity to call in an air strike," and "...and 2 days after the election they will go back to eating potatochips and watching tv."(jsut one of several snarky, urban elitist jabs in the comments at perceived hillbillies between New York and L.A.) I'm afraid of the kind of easily manipulated people who are fed a piece of video propaganda and are ready to propose opposing "ignorance" of "30-40% of the population" by "getting rid of religion to start with, or forcing some mass mandatory re-education program..." I hope they are rare as I think.

No wonder we haven't won the war yet... It's because we're at war with Iraq... Those ill informed Generals have this false notion that we're in Iraq fighting insurgency in an effort to liberate the country... I just went and read the article.

I was expecting some Ann Coulter far left rant.

Instead, it actually made a lot of sense. I personally don't like the white trash, hillbilly references but that was such a minor part of the article.

The nastiness is completely tame compared to Rush Limbaugh et al.

It's the intellectual dishonesty that is driving me crazy. Poor Palin being attacked! Big deal. This is nothing compared to how Republicans have traditionally verbally abused their opponents.

I'm downvoting this on principle. It was staged by the protestors. They were hoping shit like this would happen. I think they heckled, jeered, and provoked the cop. I think he just proved himself to be human, and maybe probably not up to the crowd/riot control part of the job.

Sorry no vote from me. 1) He wasted two numbers, 2) I'll agree with spoco2, the narrator was just annoying, 3) I thought this was "old school". Where's Hillbilly Jim, Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat or George "The Animal" Steele? (Ok, ok, at least he mentioned Hacksaw Jim Dugan. I had actually forgot about him.)

But lastly, and this is the #1 reason. No mention whatsoever of Rowdy Roddy Piper, who would be listed number one at the top of any list of old school wrestlers.

This scene exemplifies what was so great about 70s cinema.

The two musicians play together for a while, with Ronnie Cox bragging "Come on, I'm with ya!" until he says, "I'm lost." You sure are. Their duet is dripping with symbolism.

Note also the big difference in elevation of the two characters: the hillbilly is seated a good 6 feet higher, indicative of his natural advantage. Later, on the river, the men float under a rope bridge on which stands the same hillbilly looking down on them as they drift away.

There are a handful of directors today that can compose shots in this way: shots that visually support the theme without resorting to expositional dialog (Wes Anderson, Todd Solondz, P.T. Anderson, David Gordon Green, Spike Jones) but in the 70s, before the "Summer Blockbuster" changed the business, it seemed to be way more pervasive.
