We watched a movie in police academy about two young girls who were murdered in Mansfield Ohio. Profilers had determined that the killer was a sexual deviant. The police knew that homosexuals frequented a public bathroom near the city center, so they installed hidden cameras in the men's restroom. We got to watch the results. Totally seems like this had to be a professionally-made viral video. I mean all that gear and setup seems over-the-top for an ordinary group of dudes, unless maybe one of them is in the business of wiring buildings with hidden cameras.

My dark mind expected a twist ending, like them catching on hidden camera the guy murdering his wife not knowing he was being filmed. That would have been a surprise.

Quite a cute girl in that thick black coat, innit? She looks like a model.

What's funny to me is I've been in something of this situation before where someone alone started cracking up, but I wasn't on hidden camera I'm sure.

The popular reaction wasn't the same. Everyone else, myself included, just sort of raised their eyebrows and eyeballed him, but ultimately ignored him.

I think the sound of the engine would have drowned out their voices - hence the headsets.
I've been in smaller planes and noise is always an issue.
It may not have been possible to wire the headsets into the hidden camera - or maybe he tried and it was still garbled.

aren't there laws against filming public space in the US? At least in Germany it would be highly illegal to have a private camera filming anything other than your own private grounds.


Expectation of Privacy is a good rule of thumb. A great big camera and a sign "you are being watched by video" is more than enough in almost all instances. Privacy only comes into play with hidden cameras.

There's a bunch of "peeping tom" scenarios in some parts, where if you are the landlord, you can record video, or audio --but not both-- in any public or PRIVATE area other than bathrooms...
