Jaguar E-Type destroys AC Cobras at Goodwood Revival
Damn, that's some hard driving for some beautiful 50 year old (+/-) cars.
Is the Universe a Computer Simulation?
Did you read it? I bet not, because it describes systems of laws and rules that can allow programs/problem solutions to create themselves based on evolutionary models, starting from a randomly generated population of possible solutions, not the programming of an AI.
Yes, someone must 'program' those rules into a computer, but there's no need to program an AI (nor is there a need for someone to program those laws into reality, they simply are... the universe did not start out as an empty hard drive), this programs and re-programs itself based on the rules to find the optimal solution to the problem given. That's solution evolution, not AI.
The methodology comes from the field of AI, as it's a good way for an AI to find the best solution to a problem, it is not, however, an AI itself, nor is it relegated only to the field of AI.
Did you even read that link? Artificial intelligence is still an intelligence and, typically, is programmed by an outside entity.
I swear, sometimes it seems like people here argue just for the sake of arguing.
Someone stole naked pictures of me. This is what I did about
It seems you should take your own advice about reading comprehension - do you even realize that I wasn't referring to your whole post, just a particular statement? I guess not because otherwise you wouldn't be continuing to ramble on about something that I never even implied; show me where I wrote that her situation wasn't a bad thing. There, you see, I didn't.
Her situation is horrible but she is still responsible for the existence of those pictures as they were taken consensually and with her full knowledge. That her trust was misplaced and breached isn't the point of contention here. If you disagree, then consider if Ms Holten or her boyfriend had accidentally lost the phone containing the pictures and some unscrupulous person found it then posted the pictures online. It doesn't change the fact that Ms Holten is still responsible for the existence of the pictures to begin with and she should have retained tighter control over them (keep them on an encrypted hard drive, etc.)
Let's not forget that we are only hearing her side of the story. Have you seen these hateful emails that she speaks of? The details of whether her accounts were hacked or if the boyfriend just uploaded the pics from his phone are vague as well (but an important detail in my opinion.) Unless I missed an article, and that is always a possibility, I didn't see any mention of charges being brought against the boyfriend for an obvious crime - if he indeed "hacked" her phone or accounts, that is a criminal offence. I've also not seen any mention of legal action against the websites that host(ed) the pictures. I'm not trying to imply that she is lying and in all likelihood her ex-boyfriend is a douche, but I like to hear both sides of an argument first and get all the facts.
But I understand you quite clearly now: if you can't attack the argument, attack the person. Got it...you big cyber-bully...
you're right, what the fuck was I thinking, imagining that violating someone's privacy like that is a bad thing. Those feminists have brainwashed me good.
I know exactly what I meant as do plenty of others. Again, a minimum standard of reading comprehension is expected here.
Jim Jefferies brothel story
This one's been saved to hard drive for a while. It's got everything you could want in a story: true friendship, legalized prostitution, cocaine and real penis science re: muscular dystrophy.
Fully customizable smart phone & 3D printed case
of course, it could be used in reverse as well, a camera sized tool that snaps onto a larger device as a controller or a hard drive, or just the computing power that drives the larger device. I mean it's a portable computer with endless connections and possibilities...
Fully customizable smart phone & 3D printed case
It's a cool idea, but yeah, just have to wait and see if it really takes hold.
I just find it funny that my PC is modular, and phones may become modular, but my laptop is still locked into a single configuration and not upgradable other than memory/hard drive.
I suspect the hardest part is getting manufacturers to let go of control. One thing that pissed me off about Android is that here we have a phone/mobile computing operating system that is upgradeable, but yet, whether or not you get those upgrades is pretty much determined by the manufacturer, because they lock you into their "flavor" of Android. That's like Dell telling you that you can't install certain patches on your computer, or upgrade to a new OS, What's that? you want to install Linux, nope sorry, we're going to try to prevent you from doing that.
..unless of course you root your phone to upgrade it yourself, but that voids your warranty.

You Can't Say That: What's Happening to Free Speech~(2000)
Did they put someone in jail? Are they stopping them by force?
Sorry but they are not a threat to free speech, they are voicing their opinions. Come back to me when someone puts you in jail for your opinion and I'll do something about it.
Freedom of Speech is alive and well in America, for example when the Guardian was forced to destroy all their computers and hard drives with the Snowden leaks on it in Britain they weren't here. Britain may have asked but the US Government knows better, they can't do it and not because of some law but because of the principle on which that law stands. That and we'd fucking riot like hell. Free speech is something we constantly have to fight and look out for, but it's not under threat from bored mothers. Even if they are a bunch of cunts.
