Republicans just killed their chances of even holding seats in November by twice voting against a national right to contraception, because their plan is to ban contraception. This is hugely unpopular, and they just went all in on it publicly. It’s going to be really hard to pretend this isn’t their plan for 2025 when they already tipped their hand today.
For decades they claimed abortion should be a states rights issue, and now that there’s no national right, they are clear they intend to ban it nation wide. Contraception is exactly the same thing, they are already banning contraception in red states and talking about a national ban behind closed doors. Todays votes to preserve their ability to ban contraception nationwide prove it.

Polls are showing fully 1/3 of Republicans don’t support convicted felon Trump to be president, say he’s the wrong candidate…that was before his convictions and before telling the nation to prepare for no contraception and an outright ban on recreational sex…unbiased non partisan polls of Americans done from Canada.

18-37 year old Republican voters are worse, 47% say he shouldn’t be on the ballot.

Hannity tried to feed him answers in a kid glove softball interview and he still couldn’t answer questions, or did answer them by saying “yes, I’m not joking, I do plan to be a dictator for at least a day (then we’ll see if I like it) and I do seriously plan retribution against my political enemies.” (which include my own supporters if they ever question my plans).

Starting next month convicted felon Trump won’t be able to campaign outside his state (Florida?) without getting prior permission from his probation officer! But he’s still the best you’ve got!

Those numbers are going to get worse as reality sinks in that he’s a felon, with all the restrictions and conditions of a felon, and is not only not the best but likely the worst possible candidate, and a loser, who can’t vote, travel between states, leave the country, has to report to his probation officer (if he’s not in prison), etc, and all the bluster about how he can run the country from prison is suddenly reality and they see that’s insanity, and only an actual cultist would be so delusional as to think they couldn’t find a better conservative candidate (Haley likely would have beaten Biden)…too bad for them those cultists have total control of the party. 😂

Oof…convicted felon Trump held a mid day rally in Arizona (so he could go to a San Francisco fundraiser in the evening) during a heat wave and a dozen maga were hospitalized with heat stroke. More proof you are nothing but a vote for him, and you suffering to near death doesn’t even register to him. Guaranteed he won’t be reimbursing the Phoenix fired department that had to use up its resources taking care of convicted felon Trump’s mess.

Get a new lie you moron. You started that one on Jan 20 2021 and it’s never been true.
The economy is doing great. Plowing hard uphill, Americas earning power is STILL INCREASING. Unemployment still record lows for a record time period, gdp still high, inflation low and dropping. Biden’s support is growing while Trump’s is falling off the cliff, idiot. That’s why Trump no longer talks about polls and has removed poll numbers from his tweets…he’s 5% behind now and falling a few more points every week. 😂

You get your nonsensical lies from idiots who only convince other ignorant idiots. Every word a total lie. You love to eat those lies and look the fool, then cannot ever admit your mistakes making you an infant who’s testicles shriveled and fell off.

Wishful thinking doesn’t create reality. I don’t know where you got this stupidity, but it doesn’t resemble reality one bit, sucker.

Nicky Haley is still getting 20%+ in primaries despite being out of the race for months. Trump can’t even get all Republicans, and they are a rapidly shrinking minority today. He has ostracized anyone not in his cult, insulted them, told them they aren’t welcome in maga, and warned that he will get retribution when he gets power. That is not the way to gain votes, it’s how you make people vote against you out of pure self preservation. Will he be replaced at the Republican convention in July? (Ps. DNC Convention is like saying PIN Number…it once again just shows you don’t know what you are saying.

So how is that great Biden economy doing?
Sliding down hill, Americans are going broke.

So that’s a “no”, you can’t say what part of the testimony exonerates Trump. Now ask if I’m surprised.
Probably why Trump was audibly cursing during court yesterday…warned it would be contempt if he didn’t stop…cursing because he had been exonerated. That’s it.

Recent primaries were an embarrassment for Trump, losing 25-30% to Haley who dropped out months ago. Trump can’t even get all republicans, a group that shrank significantly since Jan 6 21, and he’s attracting no independents or democrats. Tons of republicans are saying they’re voting for Biden to fight against fascism and for democracy.

Trump is going out and bragging about ending Roe v Wade, saying how wonderful it’s been since he did, suggesting women in states where it’s banned who try to leave to get abortions should go to prison, now saying publicly he would support the state monitoring pregnant women like parolees which means monitoring all women constantly to be sure they aren’t secretly pregnant…I think he’s thinking a handmaiden’s tale is a plan, not a warning. This loses him about 80% of women nationwide and drives tens of millions of maybe I’ll vote voters to the polls, just like Trump being on the ticket did in 2020 but more. He’s also saying to expect major cuts to Medicaid, social security, and any assistance programs for the poor if he’s president again, losing him a big chunk of his elderly base that survive on those benefits they spent a lifetime paying into. That’s why your ridiculous hypocritical jabs at Biden never work, most people are voting against a horrific destructive monster, and he’s old but Biden is clearly no monster.

PS- a bill has been submitted in the house to remove the secret service detail for a president, VP, or other government officials who are sent to prison. Have fun in the shower, Donald!

Still waiting. I’m 99.999% sure you don’t even know what I’m waiting for despite being told a few dozen times.
Side note- sounds like most business tenants in Trump tower are failing to pay their rent, many of them are Trump companies. The one tenant who is paying their rent is the maga pac…just so you know, their operating expenses after paying Trump’s legal bills still go to Trump because they use Trump properties and Trump businesses and Trump “consulting”, all at top dollar, for their daily functions, funneling more donor money into Trump’s pockets. Just an FYI.

Awwww….does it huwt youah wittle heawt to heah de twuths?

Baby shouldn’t pick fights then cry about it.

Trump brought it up, toddler. Don’t throw yards of stone when you live in a sugar-glass house. Especially don’t whine like a bitch when all your windows end up broken.

Why doesn’t he focus on real issues instead of festering on personal attacks that make no sense like bringing up Haley’s husband not campaigning but omitting that he is deployed overseas in the military, not avoiding her at all costs because he despises and distrusts her…but Melania is missing because she despises, distrusts, and doesn’t respect Trump, not because she is unavoidably indisposed.

Trump’s wife(s) hates him and knows he was a terrible president and a repeated rapist and cheater and smells like a sewer, that’s why she won’t be seen with him and won’t campaign for him. Guaranteed part of her prenup is she is barred from saying anything negative about Trump in public or she gets nothing in the upcoming divorce, that’s the only reason she isn’t campaigning for Biden and living with Hunter. You know it’s true.

bobknight33 said:

Why do you waste your time on non issues?

Just focus on real issues like Democrats only care about getting illegals in just to have more Democrat voters. You don't count only illegals matter to that party, yet you fester on Mrs Trump not showing up.

newtboy jokingly says...

Oooo…not a good look…Trump, whose estranged humiliated repeatedly publicly cuckholded wife has been 100% absent since he was found guilty of raping Carrol and won’t be seen in public with him and hasn’t been to a single campaign event, made fun of Haley because her husband isn’t out on the campaign trail with her…he knows he’s not campaigning with her because he is deployed overseas in the military!

Not very smart to, once again, insult and demean the service of those in the military while campaigning to be their leader.

President Biden Delivers Remarks

newtboy says...

He sounds a lot more with it than any recent Trump clip.

Trump whined yesterday that everyone keeps going on about what he said “during the insurrection”….you know, the insurrection that he says never happened…the insurrection he now says happened and he blames on Nicky Haley, who he thinks was leading the House in 2020. One of a dozen gaffs in that single speech.

The right has latched onto the fact that Biden misspoke and said “Mexico” instead of “Egypt” when talking about the president of the country on the Southern border…he named the correct president proving he knew what he was talking about more than Trump ever did on his best days.
Trump would be insisting ElSisi is the president of Mexico.

If you want to compare statements using the same criteria Biden looks pretty good by comparison, even if you forget he has a stutter.

How Al Green Ruined The Impeachment Scam

newtboy says...

😂 Total 100% exoneration! 😂

The political hit piece fabricated by a Trumpist operative tried in every dishonest way to impugn his character, proving conclusively that it’s not an investigatory report it’s an editorial opinion article, but even he could not make even a minor case for criminality even to MAGgots willing to believe anything no matter how hard he twisted the evidence.
There’s no evidence of any crimes, that’s why there’s no recommendation for prosecution.

😂 100% exoneration, absolutely zero evidence of any possible criminality, unlike Trump who has provided 100% proof of treasonous criminality in dozens of ways. 😂

Edit: Meanwhile Trump doesn’t know who is president today, who he was in an election against in 2016, or who was president in 2020, does not recall that we already fought WW2, doesn’t know foreign leaders or countries, can’t distinguish Haley from Pelosi, and often doesn’t know where he is…all proven repeatedly in videos of him trying to speak at high school gymnasiums that can’t be filled, videos that include the crowds leaving as he speaks because they’re hearing the dementia unfiltered and it’s a turn off.
When you talk about Biden flubbing words 95% of the time you can’t provide video, just snide comments from biased third parties, and when you can provide video it’s highly edited to pretend a slight stutter is a mental disorder. Every time you actually see him speak unedited even you have admitted he was surprisingly lucid and intelligent. Trump’s gaffs need no such production, they’re unavoidable every time you watch him speak in a rambling stream of consciousness for even just 30 seconds.

Ok, I won’t watch it then, I know it’s all biased commentary and deceptive edits. It always is from that moron, I won’t waste my worthless time.
I will note from its YT description, all I’m willing to give it, it’s apparently some attempt to portray Trump’s team as winning the day with their argument that the president can illegally assassinate people including political rivals and, if not impeached before leaving office, can’t be prosecuted…pure insanity and obviously not a winning argument, and if accepted means Trump is ripe for a death squad hit. Even you aren’t that stupid, and that’s a subterranean bar.

Side note, Trump dropping at 33%, Haley rising at 29%, Christy out with 13%, dropped out to support anyone but Trump, meaning Haley. Haley can’t win, she’s a fer-in-ur and a lefty, Trump said! 😂
Among voters 65 and older, the conservative base, Biden is ahead 60% to 37% for Trump. Oof.

Also for your the congressional report on Trump taking bribes from foreign powers like China and Saudi Arabia came out, and unlike Hunter there’s an undisputed record of these foreign powers paying Trump over $8 million in the first two years of his presidency to change policy, which he did in spades giving them what amounted to favored nation status and selling over a hundred billion in advanced weapons to them (for a total of $3.5 billion in kickbacks to his daughter). After finding these bribes and the indisputable proof he took the money, Republicans ended the investigation and tried to hide and destroy the evidence…but failed. Once again, every accusation is an admission, and the Hunter accusations are no exception. Every crime they have accused him of committing has fizzled out when it’s time to produce evidence, and every crime has been discovered to have been committed by Trump to an exponentially greater degree, like hundreds of millions in tax evasion (more if his current estimate of Mar a Lago is close to correct, then he would owe well over $700 million just for its back taxes).

Trump to be arrested

newtboy says...

Bwaaaahahahahaha! You are just so silly. Tantrum time! I think someone needs some juice and a nap.
If they arrest Trump, they will make you more angry, and more insane and dishonest than ever, but little more.

Trump is not a Jedi, he’s a Sith. When you strike down a Sith, they do not become more powerful than you could possibly imagine, they go back to the darkness.

Trump’s appeal has waned, the shine is off that penny but good. You just can’t see it because your face is smashed hard into his grey pubic hair. Even most Republicans want him to go away….and don’t care how. Everyone else wants him under the prison for life to prove laws still matter.

Edit: since this hint at prosecution and the resulting online tantrum, more Republican leaders have come out to endorse DeSantis over Trump despite the fact that DeSantis isn’t running for president. He’s not getting more popular yet.

You know full well that many of the investigations and charges come from well before Biden was elected, many were deferred while Dementia Don was in office until he became a private citizen. Lie to yourself that Biden’s administration has anything to do with any charge, (he’s been quite hands off the justice department unlike Trump that saw and used it as his personal law firm) but you aren’t convincing anyone of anything besides your own gullibility and ignorance, not that Biden’s involvement would matter, no law says he can’t be involved…that’s the bar Trump set.

Even the conservative members of the grand jury in Georgia have said if you knew what they know, even you wouldn’t support Trump anymore. I know that’s not true, absolutely nothing could make you see the reality of Trump’s proven, even admitted criminality, but most people aren’t as delusional as you. Trump is ahead in the polls….ahead of every other declared candidate….Mariam Williamson, Corey Stapleton, Vickey Ramaswamy, and Nikki Haley…only line straddler Haley has any recognition and she’s got zero chance…wait for a real candidate before declaring victory, this is like him playing the first round of golf at his club and declaring himself the course record holder.

Desperate fascists willing to do anything to cling to power….you’re talking about MAGA on Jan 6, right? So many guilty pleas for violent sedition by intolerant white nationalists who admit they were attempting to steal an election for Trump…but you say it wasn’t violent or seditious so nothing to see here, laws have no meaning. 🤦‍♂️

BTW- Joe Tacopina, Trump’s criminal defense attorney consulted with Daniels in 2018 about this issue, which means by law he SHALL NOT represent a client with interests opposed to the “perspective client” (even if no representation/retainment occurs) in the same or a substantially related matter, nor shall any attorney in any law firm the disqualified attorney is associated with. Enjoy Habba as lead counsel! ROTFLMFAHS!!!
Edit: my mistake, he’s not using Habba, he’s using the same attorney that lost all 17 felony counts against the same DA against the Trump orgs and got his CFO put in prison. It just keeps getting better.

If they arrest Trump they will make him more powerful and more popular than ever, showing up the Biden regime as desperate fascists willing to do anything to cling to power. Go ahead dickheads, arrest Trump and see how it turns out.

During the president’s first year, the administration saw a 34% turnover rate. This is the highest of any recent White House, according to a Brookings Institution report that tracked departures of senior officials over the last 40 years.

Bob, you really need to learn that right wing media lies to you.

You mean a "personal deal" just like the one Trump's working towards in Korea? (until this renigging on a nuclear deal that is, those negotiations just got more difficult by far)

No, I suppose not, because Trump isn't working with the authority of the UN or any other countries, or congress, he's doing it on his own.

What do you mean...because....The Iran Nuclear Agreement Review Act of 2015 (H.R. 1191, Pub.L 114–17 is a bill that was passed by the US Congress in May 2015, giving Congress the right to review any agreement reached in the P5+1 talks with Iran aiming to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons.

Donald Trump isn’t ripping up a treaty; he’s walking away from Barack Obama’s personal pledge. President Obama made a deal with Iran without support from Congress. Trump is pulling out of President Obama’s personal commitment, and he doesn’t need Congress’s support to do” it because Congress had nothing to do with authorizing this.

Watchmen - Adapting The Unadaptable

Mordhaus says...

Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the movie for what it was as well. Jackie Earle Haley was an amazing Rorschach and while the other characters weren't as strong, they did fit into the roles. However, it was not as powerful as the comic version and Snyder did fall into his slow motion 'moment' vs 'scene' trap. If you compare what Jackson did with the Lord of the Rings, Jackson had to trim some of the source material but he stayed true to the 'feeling' of the books. If you were a diehard fan of the books, you might not care for his interpretation, but he did give you the majority of the work. Snyder didn't really do the source material justice and while some of that may lay with the script, it still is his fault to a point.

He is a very bombastic director if given a mostly action based movie to work with. As soon as you take him out of that comfort zone, he tries to apply the same formula and that can kill movies that require a defter hand to work all of the nuances.

Jinx said:

I enjoyed the movie. I read the book first, but only because I saw the trailers and wanted to see the movie, but I was advised to go to the source first. Perhaps because it was all fresh to me etc, that when I saw Zac's "moment montage" I was able to fill in the gaps.

I guess it depends on your definition of adaption. I feel that implicit in adaption is transformation or evolution. The story is in the telling no? Can you cut the story out, leaving behind all context, and still call it "Watchmen"?

The homage to Batman's suit is perhaps not literally true to the source material, but I think in some ways it is kind of true to the spirit of it. Here's Watchman, the graphic novel, was playing with our preconceptions of what makes a superhero comic book. Perhaps Snyder's intention was to use motifs of superhero movies in the same way Watchmen used preconceptions of its medium. maybe.
