Your company's financial support of gay pride parades is an inspiration to me, my family, and the business community at large.

I realize it must be difficult to stand up to support the gay community in the United States (I'm Canadian btw), and I commend you for your courage and kindness.

Keep up the good work, and don't worry about all the folks from the AFA - any institution as dedicated to bigotry and small-mindedness as they are does not deserve your attention or consideration.

Home Depot's decision to also include activities for children is a great idea as equality must be taught at an early age for it to truly blossom and to give the children of today a fighting chance to see through the hatemongering of certain groups out there (none named, none forgotten).

I have mixed emotions about "gay pride". On one hand I believe it is nice to have a great support network for those that are ridiculously oppressed and stripped of freedoms. On the other hand the idea of having pride in something as trivial as being gay is rather ridiculous in itself.
If being gay is not chosen and you are born with it then it is nothing to have pride in. What's next a foot fetish pride parade? OK we get it, you're gay. Awesome. What makes you special? Really what draws the difference between gay people and straight people? It's what happens in the bedroom so there's really nothing there to be proud about. Sure, have a little cuddle party when you get your partner off after a good f ck but nobody needs to throw a parade for it.
The sooner anybody stops drawing attention to their differences, the sooner everybody will remember that we're all pretty much the same
