Bride Sings Down the Aisle

I know I'd love them! Especially because of the coconut (and did you notice when you click to the recipe it says "perfect with a nice cup of tea"?) At Christmas I always make a whole bunch of different cookies and one of the types I make is very similar (minus the coconut). This is the one...

I'm going to have to try yours next time instead because I have a feeling I might like it even better! I'd better print it off now before I forget!

Thank you for digging it up for me!

Hey @chingalera can we add this yummy looking coconut jam drops recipe of oritteropo's to your contest (even though he's made them before)?

Here's my promised recipe - http://www.taste.com.au/recipes/13554/coconut+jam+drops

Very easy, and very yummy. 360 deg F for old fashioned ovens Or Gas Mark 4 (I've never had an oven that used gas mark, but recipes give them). I think I put in the whole egg and not just the yolk, but I don't remember. I usually use raspberry jam (other recipes say use raspberry or strawberry, this one is more relaxed about type).

p.s. Important point - the measures are metric, so 1 cup is 250ml. Smaller cups might throw the amounts off a bit.

Unfortunately it is only interesting when condensed into a video of this length. The usual matches seem to consist of 50 minutes of people engaging in poser brawls - then somebody remembers that he can actually run over to the other team's goal.
The lack of athletic competitiveness means that neither the fights nor the ballplay end up particularily engaging :-(

Doug Stanhope - The Oklahoma Atheist

gwiz665 says...

That's all wrong. Wikipedia is wrong, and you are wrong. The word atheism has been abused and warped to shy away from what the word of it actually means.

A-theism - not theism.

It's not plus(theism)/minus(atheism). It's plus/zero. Atheism is the neutral; theism is active belief.

Imagine a word like anti-theism would be the opposite of the spectrum; and yet a-antitheism would also be the neutral = a-antitheism == atheism.

Perpetuating a lie doesn't make it true.

Technicalities matter; semantics matter.

Agnosticism is the belief that the truth values of certain claims—especially claims about the existence or non-existence of any deity, as well as other religious and metaphysical claims—are unknown. Wikipedia

Atheism is, in a broad sense, the rejection of belief in the existence of deities.[1][2] In a narrower sense, atheism is specifically the position that there are no deities.[3][4][5] Most inclusively, atheism is simply the absence of belief that any deities exist.[4][5][6][7] Atheism is contrasted with theism,[8][9] which in its most general form is the belief that at least one deity exists.[9][10] Wikipedia

It is only since the rise of New Atheism that we have the opinion that Agnosticism is not a separate belief from Theism/Atheism. As far as Agnostic Atheism/Theism, those are still considered a sub-division of Agnosticism, not Atheism or Theism respectively.

As far as myself, I would say I lean toward Agnostic Theism, simply because I hope that there is a greater design to the Universe other than random chance.

Going to the Doctor in America

scheherazade says...

Funny.

My doctors had the same answer (minus the finger part) even with insurance.
I find it painful to even go to them. So tired of being 'passed along' soon as I get in there.

"Ah, you have symptoms. Well, they don't sound like the usual stuff, so we don't know. Get rest, take some Tylenol, hope you feel better. NEXT."

As a non-american, I never had the pleasure of watching his show as a kid (or as an adult to be honest), but everything I read or watch about him, just makes me feel real nice he once existed.
He seemed to be what you would expect a saint to be (minus the miracles of course). And this coming from an atheist.

Zero Punctuation: Next Gen buyers guide

I think it's the emphasis on everything but gaming that gets people bent out of shape. It is pretty ridiculous.
Even more so when you consider that Nintendo is the only one that is focusing on the games, and they've made such ridiculous design decisions that they're still not a guaranteed alternative. I really feel like Nintendo would sweep the market if they had dropped a console that was nothing but gaming, minus any external stupidity (i.e. with a rationally designed controller).
I work in the game industry, and I'm checking out of the next console generation. I wasn't eager to go in for the last one, and as it's finally rolling to an end I look back on a half-used Wii that overheats if I don't have a fan on it at all times, and having purchased two 360s and two PS3s because the first ones both failed in a year due to shit manufacturing.
I'm glad I'm still allowed to build my own PC.
