Weird Al and a Group of Autistic Kids Sing "Yoda"...

lucky760 says...

Awesome story. Thanks for sharing.

Like everyone, I love Weird Al, and I'm surprised I've never heard Yoda. I just know the original Lola, which is a funny song by itself. (Listen to the lyrics if you don't know.)

Yoda was my favorite childhood song, I had no idea it had been based on a song called Lola back then. It didn't matter, was 9yrs old. Vancouver, 1994'ish, went to a Weird Al Concert (hoping for this song) with my parents at the Queen Elizabeth Theater and he played almost everything except...(Yoda). . Then encore, says "this is a song about a little green man" The entire audience of kids lose their minds and he sings Yoda as his last song. He probably repeated the chorus 15 times.

Amazing how this random shit sticks with you. I am damn happy this ridiculous song is still bringing happiness and doing good things 20+ years after it did good for me.

(or to say it another way, I don't think this will gain traction outside the far-right)

I'm curious @blankfist, are you irate at the Republicans for not telling you what was really in the bill they had the opportunity to read (but you did not)? You expect this from the democrats, so they only lived up to expectations, no? The republicans could have made this point long before the vote on ACA, but instead opted to claim Grandma was going to be sent to the death panels and other nonsense.
And, I must think those who are surprised in any way either missed or misunderstood the supreme court decision last time the ACA was defended, when they said the ACA was legal BECAUSE it is a tax. Anyone who was in the dark should have understood at that point, they made it clear. That's why I don't think this is likely to gain traction, it's not news, it's just rehashing 5 year old politics in the hope that most people don't recall what happened back then and will be angry about it again. That's how I see it.

I do agree, the climate that makes misrepresentation of what's actually in a bill is terrible for everyone. It would be much better if we could bar lawyers from holding any high public office/representative position, as many founding fathers wanted. Then bills might be written in clear language (by all sides). Good luck getting that though.

EDIT: Wanted to downvote the intent of the video, but wanted to upvote the funny song....so I'll just not vote.

With things like this I start thinking people have become a little too desensitized to things these days.

I mean, this is a 'funny song' version of him regaling us with how he just killed someone.

Seems a little off to me.

So what you're saying, choggie, is that you don't like it? Then why don't you downvote it?

[A] couple of extreme cracker douchebags...

You really got it in for whitey, don't ya?

[A]ll they can think about is fucking someone's else's mothers/wives...

Well, this IS comedy. In real life I imagine they think of other things, like what bills need to be paid, how much work they have at the office, and if they'll make it out of rush hour traffic before the bran muffin kicks in.

Here's what this funny song says to me, in a serious way: Though these women have all borne children, they are still attractive. I don't think of them as mere mombots, but as ladies who still "got it."

Believe it or not, some mothers actually like to hear that they're still desirable even after they've reproduced.

[S]ome sort of affirmation for their damaged sensibilities and addiction to ego...

Not unlike someone who has shared his opinions with everyone over 10,000 times?

Punks, turds, casualties of a Nation going down the shithole.....

Though it's popular to point at particular cultural phenomena as signs of the impending demise of our nation, since the dawn of language there have always been people saying the same thing about the culture they lived in. Things were ALWAYS better in the good old days. NOT.

I concede that this song can easily be taken as offensive, because it humorously objectifies women. However I also see this video as making fun of men, because it humorously makes it look like all men have one thing on their mind. And that's only true 95% of the time. (The other 5% involves alcohol purchases.)
