I don't knock Bliz for trying to give their characters some character, I knock them for doing it badly.

As for gameplay, the information I've heard so far is that the gameplay modes will include payload and control point maps.... hardly ground breaking.

Besides, I think you're reading too much into what I said.
First, it was an obviously flippant comment, not an in-depth analysis of the game.

Second, if you read the whole comment it was

(emphasis mine). So I was literally describing my very first impression, and I stand by that comment.

I will say that after more consideration, the concept of a team based FPS with moba-style heroes could be interesting. I suspect it won't be for me though, for the same reasons I don't play DOTA or LOL; I simply don't have the time to learn all the characters and their counters.

After ~ten minutes of bemusement, i found out that the video is only at 60 fps - and therefore interesting above and beyond the skill factor - in 720p or above.

It'd be nice to have that in the description... bit of a half arsed effort, if i might be so rude.

So apparently if you are an FPS that looks like it was made by Pixar then you're a TF2 clone.

I mean, the similarities are obvious. They both have guns, they both have (mostly) humanoid characters, there appears to be a control point...and, my god, was that a healing beam!?!?! "One of the characters even turns into a turrent" - Hey now, the heavy is certainly slow and fat but he's not _completely_ immobile.

I spotted something else. That Tracer girl is TOTALLY using Weaver's Time lapse. That's another shameless copypaste from another game that Valve created from a mod made by somebody else. What next, Portals? Silent crowbar wielding protagonists? Waiting almost a decade for the next installment of a hotly anticipated IP?...hold on, I think Blizzard invented that with Starcraft and Diablo. nvm.

Honestly, it's been over 7 years. I played TF2, I loved TF2. When somebody tells me "Hey, Blizzard are shoveling all their money and expertise into creating a new game based on that other game you loved" my reaction isn't "HOW DARE THEY INTRUDE UPON GABEN'S HOLY GROUND!". I am looking forward to playing Overwatch and continuing an age old tradition of whining about how Bliz can't balance games.

This never really sparked my interest and being console only killed it. I don't play no fps with controllers.

Besides, Planetside 2 already did the MMOFPS thing and did it better.

It's totally possible. I've played a few FPS games at top level, and you'd be surprised how simple things like checking corners can drop out of a person's mind when they're so focused on trying to do everything else perfectly. All it takes is one guy to forget to corner check (like with the first guy on here), and then all the other guys think he's checked and that it's safe. Sometimes that kinda thing can be so basic and risky that no one believes that you'd have the audacity to try it against top players.

Like with sticky traps on TF2 - sometimes even the top clans will lose 6 players to that just because 1 soldier didn't check the doorway, and everyone is embarrassed and feels stupid, but it just takes a momentary lapse.

Unlikely no one would look behind them, but i imagine it's happened plenty of times in all the matches played.
