Parents Talk to Their Kids About The Birds and the Bees
True story.
Went to the presentation at school, at night. All the boys went one night, the girls on another. Fifth and sixth graders, but my mom took me as a fourth grader, my brother went as a fifth grader.
After both of us had seen the presentation, my parents sat with us in the backyard. Asked if we had any questions.
I had one. "How does the sperm get across the bed? Does it crawl?"
They showed all the apparatus, but they never told us the delivery method!
My parents didn't answer then. My dad tried to tell me later. Always at dinner time, which was weird.
I learned by then that this was something not to be discussed (picked that up from my parents, clearly!) Dad would try to tell me, I would squeal and run upstairs.
My father is not a patient man.
One night, he leaned over and unplugged the toaster. "Gale, in electrical terms, this is the male and this is the female." And he plugged in the toaster.
I squealed and ran, but the info was transmitted.
Stupid Disney movie didn't tell us.
This was in 1963.

Doubt - How Deniers Win
You can call it 'personal belief', I call it educated guess work, because I've paid attention and most models were on the low side of reality because they don't include all factors
Try as I might, I just can't ignore this. Here's what the actual scientists at the IPCC themselves have to say in their Fifth Assessment Report on assessing climate models:
an analysis of the full suite of CMIP5 historical simulations (augmented for the period 2006–2012 by RCP4.5 simulations, Section 9.3.2) reveals that 111 out of 114 realizations show a GMST trend over 1998–2012 that is higher than the entire HadCRUT4 trend ensemble
For reference the CMIP5 is the model data, and the HadCRUT is the instrumental real world observation. 111 out of 115 models significantly overestimate the last decade. AKA, the science says most models were on the high side.
Now, that is just the last 10 years, which is maybe evidence you can declare about expectations going forward. But lets be cautious before jumping to conclusions as the IPCC continues on later with this:
Over the 62-year period 1951–2012, observed and CMIP5 ensemble-mean trends agree to within 0.02ºC per decade (Box 9.2 Figure 1c; CMIP5 ensemble-mean trend 0.13°C per decade). There is hence very high confidence that the CMIP5 models show long-term GMST trends consistent with observations, despite the disagreement over the most recent 15-year period.
So the full scientific assessment of models is that they uniformly overestimated the last 15 years. However, over the longer term, they have very high confidence models trend accurately to observation.
As I said, if your personal belief is that models have consistently underestimated actual warming that's up to you. Just don't go spreading doubt about the actual science while sneering at others for doing exactly the same thing solely because they deny the science to follow a different world view than your own.
The Down-Tuning Experiment
You are right, what i was saying is mostly about audio quality. You can not have a sharp fast complex attack on very low notes. No matter what the instrument is. B is about the lowest, after that you need to make drastic equalizations to get that sharpness back. Also the chord structure "widens" it's intervals the lower you go. With B tune, you can barely make fifths. Once octave higher and you get thirds. If you go 7 octaves higher, you can even use seconds... Allthou Bmin9 sounds AWESOME on B, not very pretty or even recognizable, it's just rumble..... But it sounds clearer around E, aka Breath on Floyds Dark Side of the Moon....
I dunno. Mastodon seem to manage ok on standard neck length down to A# or even A.
I didn't find this riff "heavy" at all.
It's not the tuning that makes a song heavy, it's a whole bunch of things.
Sepulturas Roots Bloody Roots is in B and Panteras 5 Minutes Alone is in D. Can you honestly say that Roots is that much heavier? Would 5 Minutes Alone be heavier in B?
The riff itself is obviously important, but also what the drums are doing, the production, the tone, etc.
Bill Nye: You Can’t Ignore Facts Forever

From the WSJ:
"The U.N. no longer claims that there will be dangerous or rapid climate change in the next two decades. Last September, between the second and final draft of its fifth assessment report, the U.N.'s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change quietly downgraded the warming it expected in the 30 years following 1995, to about 0.5 degrees Celsius from 0.7 (or, in Fahrenheit, to about 0.9 degrees, from 1.3).
"Even that is likely to be too high. The climate-research establishment has finally admitted openly what skeptic scientists have been saying for nearly a decade: Global warming has stopped since shortly before this century began."
The usual to get around paywall.

and Madam and Dione Warwick Marilyn I miss Fifth Dimension but we have another spark of talent You. Marilyn you would love your One Less Bell to Answer and can you imagine Aquarius/Let The Sun Shine In on a theater pipe organ. I do these at our Ohio Theater on our Mighty Morton. It has an India Indian Drum on it and sometimes I'll put the mike over my hand and play the Aquarius drum part with my hand on the side of the bench. Love Ya.
