So no idea is stupid, and should even be given credit in inverse proportion to its factuality. Anybody that uses such flawed tools as evidence or reason will inevitably become some kind of maladjusted pervert; truth and understanding are at best worthless, if not damaging; we should all abandon ourselves to fatalism, lobotomise ourselves and search for meaning only in our own private constructions of reality.

Presumably your wife's idea of a perfect world is everyone blind, deaf and paralysed, rotting in a pool of their own excrement, desperately trying to fantasize themselves happy. I think there's a better way.

I've watched the whole of OutFoxed (these clips are not from that, but post it), and it, along with these further clips, really do make me scared for the general mindspace of mainstream America. I see similar things happening with the media here in Australia too, and that scares me.

Mindless consumers who just blindly believe what they see on tv scare the shit out of me basically. Especially when the excrement on tv is this right wing.

Things I like so far about the new system:

1) Easy access to the most recent queued/hot videos

2) Doesn't seem to impede those videos that will inevitably rocket to the top (though I worry that the randomization will flatten out top performers into 40-50 vote videos rather than 60-80 vote videos)

Things that may bother me:

0) Don't like the design of Sifted/Unsifted button right now. May be an aesthetic/difficulty adapting to a new school thing.

1) Word-of-Mouth videos that struggle in the queue (but eventually make it) are going to be swallowed by the new system, UNLESS there is a metric keyed to placement in playlists, saves, comment whinging from rickegee et al about the struggle of the little esoteric video.

2) What will happen to promotes? Will they 'stick' on the front page for a while?

3) Will this affect my inexorable drive to the #1 position?

4) I fear a front page of only Family Guy. That stuff is such excrement.
