really random selection of some of the worst music out there.

i really dislike that this is how a lot of people view electronic music. most of this is pop music and it completely ignores the huge innovations that happened in house, techno, jungle, dubstep, garage, ambient, etc. in the last 40 years. the impact of electronic music has been chronically under appreciated since it's inception.

...and by no means am I saying I hate electronic music - because I do like it. Dam, Sigue Sigue Sputnik, Skinny Puppy...

Anyway, I just hate when mainstream decides it's better to give us over-produced tripe, rather than let the artist and their instruments speak for themselves.

False equivalency that all electronic music sounds the same.

i'm deeply invested and involved in electronic music, jungle/drum'n'bass, the urban lifestyle, and "future" music, and i fucking love stan rogers.

I'm a little disappointed. This thing really just uses water as the trigger for electronic music, the water doesn't vibrate on it's own like air in a normal instrument, which is what I expected from an 'under water organ'. This was just a water organ, and barely that in my eyes.

For more than 20 years this was my favorite 'group' of musical artists. Then... they just stopped trying...?
I don't read interviews or keep up on any news outside of an artists album releases, but they went from revolutionizing (and I don't use that word lightly) electronic music with Classical Mushroom, to discovering whole new landscapes of sound, and bordering electro-pop, with Converting Vegetarians, and after that everything they released was unimaginative, repetitive, droning drivel. What happened?!

maybe I missed it - can someone point out the MM:SS mark that the dubstep occurs? While it seems the whole thing is electronic music, I didn't hear any actual dubstep...

Maybe because I'm neither a scientist nor an electronic music fan,but I thought this was terrific. I also thought -- what a great recruitment tool for future scientists.... it's fun to ignite things! Who knew science could be this thrilling!

I say as an non-scientist....

Star Wars and Trek are going to be old-school geek by the time yer kids are hip to it. Disney will have wrung that sweaty workout rag dry and Trekky convetions will look like AARP gatherings. You will be SO unhip if you make them fans.

You'll realize that if you send them to school with that vintage "Strikes Back" luchbox...
