Wow man ... you douchebaggery knows no bounds does it? Someone clearly having a bad day/time and instead of being helpful or compassionate, your answer is to kick them in the ass while they're turned around. Nice.

No wonder this place got so fucked.

If you don't care that much, then just leave. No need to damage the site on your way out.

ForgedReality says...

I don't get why the fuck you would do this in the first place? Those dudes were pulling hella hard. *I* wanted to punch them in the face for that douchebaggery.

What the fuck dudes? What is wrong with you? This is how you get noticed? Just ask her out. Christ. Are we in fucking middle school here? This is why so many dudes are afraid to approach women. We've programmed them to be automatically full-defensive mode. I'm talkin deflector shields, weapons locked, targeting systems at the ready. Guys, seriously. Stop being dicks.

Samantha Bee - A Penis PSA

newtboy says...

No.
You don't fight racism by being racist.
You don't fight sexism by being sexist.
It's not about ego, it's about fairness and honesty and civil behaviour. Those who fight against ignorant hatred with ignorant hatred are also my enemy....no matter what their cause.
What this does is legitimize body shaming. This means the douchbags you decry now can, with impunity, demean women's bodies all they like, and when confronted about their sexist douchebaggery, they can just say "Sam made it OK to demean
your (insert demeaning adjectives here) vagina".

Also, when you're trying to draw people to your side of a debate, it's never a good idea to blatantly insult them. Not all men are abusers, but Sam seems to think we all deserve to be treated as if we are. Had she stopped at :45, I would stand with her. Because she decided it was more important to insult men than instruct them, I now stand against her.

Edit: Finally, this won't create fewer harassed women, it's more likely to create more by giving the predisposed to abuse an excuse and validation of their methods.
This is why I'm barred from team sports...I call fouls on my own team.

I get what you're saying, it's just....

you know, men's precious egos taking a hit is worth having less sexually harassed women. The idea that all these women secretly want some douchebag's penis is way too popular among douchebags to let it stay alive. It's needs to be killed. With fire.

Bill Maher: Is Donald Trump a Con Man?

newtboy says...

Not exactly.
Yes, most other politicians are liars (although I have yet to see a single charge of lying stick to Bernie) but Trump is head and shoulders above others in this one respect.
Just look to his 'victory speech' where he brought out Trump water, wine, steak, magazine, etc., each and every one of which turned out to be a fraud. Why do that? It's INSANE, making up easily fact checked lies to show how successful you are? WTF?!?
Or just look at his book, where he clearly tells you that his 'success in business' comes from hyper exaggeration and outright lies to trick people into deals with him, reneging on deals once he gets what he wants out of them, and attacking anyone that brings up his past lies or promises with such vitriol and outrageous threats that they invariably just go away rather than have any further dealings with him. That's not success at business, that's success at douchebaggery.

So yes, most others also lie, but no where near at the level or consistency we see from Trump. If he tells you something about ANYTHING, it's at least an 80% chance that the opposite of what he told you is the actual truth. That is a large difference from 'any other politician who tries to get your vote'.

Disney Are Being Douchebags To Quentin

SDGundamX says...

Douchebaggery of the highest order.

Tarantino is doing something really cool by bringing back the idea of the cinematic roadshow AND by making a film that is, by design, best seen with a 70mm projector (which only a few theaters in the country possess). Why does Disney care about ONE movie theater when they've got a worldwide release--especially as Star Wars is actually going to open in that theater anyway and be shown there for the first week, when the biggest returns will happen).

Seriously, I can't understand why Disney would do this, unless Tarantino royally pissed off some Disney executive who is now getting their revenge.

EDIT:

Was reading more about this on Reddit and learned that this likely happened because Disney is aggressively going to try to break the all-time box office record and therefore wants "all hands on deck" and the movie playing in as many theaters as possible.

Also, there are reports coming out that this was not a recent change but one that Disney forced through months ago, the evidence for this being that the Arclight theater in question was listed as available for the online pre-ordering of tickets for The Force Awakens over the holidays way back in October. However, it seems Tarantino was only informed of the change recently.

Tom Hardy Aggressively Responds To Sexuality Question.

Lawdeedaw says...

Absolutely, that that was the real question there is no doubt. But, that doesn't matter. I also think that the response was perfect except that he let it aggravate himself significantly.

It is news casters' responsibility to drum up business, make names for themselves, and be provocative. This is OUR fault as consumers. We crave something. We can blame the reporter for feeding his family by douchebaggery, but it is in his job title. (Bill Mahar asks worse questions, O'Riely, etc etc. And before we argue the pundit route, there are plenty of reporters who do the same.)

On the other hand, as someone famous, it is also IN Tom Harding's JOB TITLE to be asked stupid questions. To get offended/aggravated is sophomoric. If you don't want to do your job (And it is his job, 100%. He gets paid to be a media whore, he needs to swallow it down,) then you need to stop working in that field.

"Here, let me sit in front of these media guys who are paid to ask dumb questions and personal questions so I can get publicity...hey! This guy asked me a personal question! Boohoo..."

lucky760 said:

I think that's a valid interpretation of what he meant to ask ("Are celebrities repressed about their sexuality?"), but it's still a stupid question.

What are Tom's possible answers? A) Yes, I believe celebrities find it hard to talk about their sexuality. B) No, I believe that no celebrities find it hard to talk about their sexuality.

Nonsense. Meaningless.

It's not the real question he means to ask. What he seems to really want to ask is the loaded question: "Do you find it hard to admit you're gay?"

Do not mess with a parent - here is why

lucky760 says...

I understand the emotion especially when someone else's inconsiderate, selfish douchebaggery is putting your children at risk, but you can't allow it to overtake your behavior.

Don't let emotions turn into actions, at least not uncontrolled rageful actions. (It'd be better to take down his license plate, find him later, and take your time teaching Homes the error of his ways with the help of some hard pipe-hitting motherfuckers, a pair of pliers, and a blow torch.)

To the father, two words: Dude, maintain.

To the long-hair pink jacket and green beanie wearing Kevin Smith wannabe who finds amusement in endangering other people then watching them get upset, I hope you encounter someone who will wipe that fucking grin off your face in a way you'll never forget.

Why People REALLY Hate Nickleback

Payback says...

I've seen a fair share of crap make it to top spot, here on the Sift, so don't get all elitist about the maturity level in here. Bewbs, cats, and Louis CK all have a dubious percentage of votes in here.

...but honestly, as with most "internet communities" I'm here for the people. Places like Reddit and Youtube itself are just too full of vitriol and verbal diarrhea for my liking. Far too many saying far too little.

My dislike of this person's video has more to do with it's judgmental nature. I really dislike people who put down others over something so esoteric and subjective as music taste. The "Pop" in pop music is short for "Popular". Hating on something for no other real reason than a lot of people like it is douchebaggery at it's most stereotypical extreme.

There's only one Nickelback song I like, so I'm not a fanboi. I have to say though, the fact they are still selling records and and concert tickets kinda proves this guy wrong. They have "struck a chord" with quite a few people. Otherwise, they would have been a one-hit-wonder like the chick down the street from them, Carly Rae Jepsen.

Music doesn't have to be well written, or well performed to be popular, people just have to like it.
