Lock him up. Lock him up. Lock him up. Lock him up.

Hope you’re ready for a minimum of two years of hearings digging deep into anyone who ever spoke to Trump. Every employee. NDAs withdrawn or legally dissolved like the Whitehouse NDAs.

Lock him up. Lock him up. Lock him up. Lock him up.

Same crime, to an exponentially more serious degree.
He stole actual original Top secret classified documents, left them unguarded, unsecured, and illegally stolen….crimes he undeniably knew and knows was a serious crime, he made that a campaign feature, even if, as he now claims, “”someone” told him he was allowed to because of multiple rulings”. (He has no idea who or what rulings, because it’s more bullshit, or maybe he listened to Giuliani who’s completely insane.)

Lock him up. Lock him up. Lock him up. Lock him up.

See you tomorrow.

For new cars, probably correct, but old combustion engines aren’t just going to dissolve away. I have two over 50 years old in my driveway. They can last a long time.
Also, India and China don’t seem very interested in skipping their turn at combustion engines (sad), so tack 50+- years on before the entire world even really wants to switch over.

I don’t deny average electric vehicles should soon outperform average normal gas engines (let’s ignore exotics as exotics). My point is switching technology across the board is a slow, painful, expensive process that won’t likely happen in 5, 10, or even 20 years IMO….and electric motors won’t ever totally replace combustion for all applications as some suggest.

The Death Couloir - Mont Blanc

StukaFox says...

No, I'm all in favor of Morons--

However, I'm not in favor of the amazing people in SAR putting their lives on the line to recover the smears lefts on rocks that used to be these people. Living in WA, we have a lot of "really wants to kill you" wilderness here, including North Cascades Nat'l Park and Olympic Nat'l Park. Every single year, someone's predated body needs to be pulled out of the middle of one of these places by either a helo crew or the poor bastards who have to hike a bazillion miles to pack out what's left of Chuckles.

The number of SAR people who've died here is sobering. Every single one of them could have just walked away, but they went into danger's way to save people too stupid to save themselves. Sometimes their reward is to be spit on, like the ranger at Yellowstone who was berated by the father of a kid who dived into a hot spring after his dog (by "kid", I mean adult kid, not Timmy). The father wanted his kid's body recovered, no matter what. The ranger had to explain that the kid completely dissolved about five minutes after he fell in. The father then refused to speak to the ranger any further.

This shit doesn't happen in a vacuum. Someone's going to have to look at these human bird droppings and see that shit in their sleep for the rest of their lives.

Ruh roe.
Turns out the Trump campaign paid people to go to the coup, at least 60 of the rioters. That’s not good.
Double ruh roe, turns out they also paid for the “command center” in the Willard hotel that Giuliani and others involved in the planning and instigation of the coup attempt worked from, negating the non existent claim of executive privilege for non government work done by his campaign that is required to be public record in the first place.
Triple ruh roe, the Trump campaign “forgot” to list that expenditure, and the work done by Trump’s campaign workers planning the attack against American democracy…a blatant and unambiguous campaign finance violation.

New felonies coming to light daily as NDAs dissolve and people are finally free to say what they witnessed in the least transparent and most criminal administration in the nation’s history by far. Just look up Trump administration official convictions, you won’t be able to finish it today, it’s too long, and still growing. 11 at the absolute highest level of government convicted of nearly 100 high crimes and misdemeanors, the numbers of lower level officials convicted is likely in the hundreds if not thousands, most charged with multiple crimes.
Or just look up his pardons, every one of which is a conviction for things like stealing tens of millions from “build the wall” donors…stealing from his people….pardoned. Lying to the FBI, pardoned. Working with Russia to undermine American policy before taking office, pardoned. Millions in tax fraud by not reporting millions made working as an unreported foreign agent, pardoned.

The most positive thing Trump did was remove Bush from the “worst president ever” position.

Also, Republicans only won in Tennessee because of voter fraud. He’s not the real governor. Never will be. Tennessee has no governor. Enjoy 4 years of that.
Funny how Republicans insisted there was SO much voter fraud happening in that election…until Youngkin was declared the winner when suddenly there was no fraud at all according to them. Almost like you guys are lying worthless pieces of shit who say anything without a hint of concern as to its veracity.
Also funny how Youngkin refused to have Trump campaign for him at all, never seen together, not even in the state, but of course Trump takes 100% of the credit for his “win”….a win that’s uncertified and fraudulent. You know it’s true.

The attempted US coup

JiggaJonson says...

America without its institutions and laws is just dirt that people are standing on.

Joe Biden doesn't hate the institutions of the USA. He doesn't talk about them in broad strokes in every speech he gives in a negative way. He seems to recognize that 1/2 of the country doesn't like him, more or less, but doesn't talk about those fellow Americans like they are enemies of the USA.

By contrast, all the "can't trust the government" types, including the previous president, are saying in essence things that are fundamentally anti American. Which is not to say no oversight is needed, but oversight and regulation to stop power from running amuck are different and distinct compared to dissolving those institutions or hobbling them in favor of more centralized power in the executive branch.

Biden is delegating power across government bodies and institutions, rather than concentrating it on himself.

And he doesn't rage tweet at all hours of the day and night every fucking moment he has a plucky idea. Just look at the sheer volume of tweets that poured out of that monster https://www.thetrumparchive.com/

Allassonic/Hot Chocolate Effect

SFOGuy says...

Now I'm wondering if the powder has anything at all to do with it; or it's just the entrained air bubbles from the stirring being released and disappearing...although your statement about "equilibrium" seems to indicate the powder (until full dissolved) holds onto the air bubbles/supplies a surface for nucleation (I think I used that correctly).

So: would talcum powder work? hmmm

newtboy said:

Works with most hot liquids with powders, I think I first noticed it in a mug of instant hot cider......

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hot_chocolate_effect

The hot chocolate effect, also known as the allassonic effect, is a phenomenon of wave mechanics first documented in 1982 by Frank Crawford, where the pitch heard from tapping a cup of hot liquid rises after the addition of a soluble powder. It was first observed in the making of hot chocolate or instant coffee, but also occurs in other situations such as adding salt to supersaturated hot water or cold beer. Recent research has found many more substances which create the effect, even in initially non-supersaturated liquids.
It can be observed by pouring hot milk into a mug, stirring in chocolate powder, and tapping the bottom of the mug with a spoon while the milk is still in motion. The pitch of the taps will increase progressively with no relation to the speed or force of tapping. Subsequent stirring of the same solution (without adding more chocolate powder) will gradually decrease the pitch again, followed by another increase. This process can be repeated a number of times, until equilibrium has been reached. Upon initial stirring, entrained gas bubbles reduce the speed of sound in the liquid, lowering the frequency. As the bubbles clear, sound travels faster in the liquid and the frequency increases

Trump Holds Indoor Rally as Wildfires and Pandemic Rage

newtboy says...

Trump has blamed State governors for fires on federal land for 3 1/2 years+ but has done nothing to solve the problems on land he controls.

The failure has been in the making longer than that, try since the industrial revolution. I live in a rain forest starting it's third decade of drought. It's a major climate shift. The science is settled, not in question for decades.

No, he needs to listen to the professional forest managers already there instead of ignoring them because he knows more about everything than anyone. See his recent meeting with California's forest managers for examples of his stupidity, his plan is just like for Covid, do nothing, blame others, deny there's a problem, claim it will just go away, blame others again, pat himself on the back for a job perfectly done.

His idea, rake the forests, is just dumb and impossible. Only a complete moron believes you can rake up 33 million acres of mountainous forests, including removing all forest litter which is necessary habitat for many forest creatures and downed trees like redwoods that are useless as lumber. Only a stupid ignoramus believes that's a solution.

Let's say it costs about $1000 per acre, a vast underestimation, that's an extra $330 billion per year for raking California's forests alone. Is Trump offering to fund that, or is he cutting funding instead? (Hint, he cut funding)

Much of the mismanagement is from fighting fires. For decades the plan was don't let any fire burn, that's left forests with 2-5 times the fuel it would naturally have. The last decade that's been realised and when possible fires are allowed to burn. It's too little too late.

Trump's idea of draining the swamp has been plugging the outlets and pumping millions of gallons of sewage into it. That means removing career civil servants and selling positions to friends and contributors with no experience and massive conflicts of interests. Trump's is the most criminal administration ever, with more convictions than any other including Nixon. Politics are incredibly more swampy than before Trump, and the state of the union is crumbling and poised to dissolve into another civil war.

🤦‍♂️

Democrats For Violence

newtboy says...

This shitshow is Trump's America, and a result of his lack of leadership. You and he seem to think he's only the president of Republican led areas.
Cities were run by the same party under Obama, did we have this slow burn civil war simmering then? No, we did not.
Q) What changed? A) Trump's in charge.

Cities are almost exclusively led by Democratic mayors. Cities have high crime rates because they have high population density. Per capita crime rates aren't that different from rural areas.

Republican led areas have much higher poverty rates and way fewer services. By your logic, republican leadership leads to high poverty and an MIA government except at tax time (actually, it does historically and by design).

Edit: Downvote for the blatant lies in the description. Democrats have not promoted violence they've constantly denounced it, and are blaming Trump for the dissolving union, the division, hatred, and violence he promotes including the murder of protesters and unarmed black men.

Sky Brown the 12 year old girl and her mega ramp

newtboy says...

I had a friend in high school that had a 15' vertical ramp. He liked to climb to the roof of his 3 story Victorian to drop in, around 40'. Another friend's ramp had a big tree next to it, he liked to grab it >30' up and sit down to rest, then drop back in from the branch. He never looked scared at all.

When you're doing what you love, the fear of failure dissolves.

That's how I was able to drive 140 over unknown uneven terrain with +- 3% traction and feel good about it. It was horrifically unsafe, but some of the best times of my life I would repeat in a heartbeat if I was still able. Thanks to various broken parts including my back, that's a pipedream now. (Hilariously, maybe ironically, I broke it working on my house, not off road racing, not downhill biking, not whitewater kayaking, just removing a cast iron bathtub.)
At least there are some decent off-road video games now to keep me out of the buggy.

SFOGuy said:

It's---frankly terrifying? Even if you were supremely confident in your physical body's skills, to be any age and launch down that ramp---my imagination (and several previously broken body parts) would not let me do it. I hope she is somehow never really hurt badly...

Joe Biden Mental state

newtboy says...

There was an article a few days ago about Trump floating a plan to let Democratically led cities and states languish with zero federal funds or assistance, not only through Covid but as a, let's call it final solution to the problem of Democratic leadership.

Sounds like he is looking to dissolve the union himself.

I, for one, support Wexit. California, Oregon, and Washington would likely have a bigger, definitely more robust economy than those lesser 47 states (or fewer if there's an Eastxit), and our population of insane right wing nutjobs is a manageable size, and would likely shrink fast.

Can we just do a trial run....we can wait until November 4 to decide if it's still necessary, but we could start ignoring DC now....and stop sending them our money. No need for fighting, just an amicable divorce.

Fauci

newtboy says...

In part, he has more than one iron in the debt exploding fire.

He exploded the debt long before Covid.
The checks alone would have exploded the debt, but that was less than1/4 of the money spent on just the Trumpidemic his lack of leadership and understanding made 10 times worse than it could have been, and that's being generous, and that two trillion + doesn't count one dime of the trillions more in lost production....and he wants to spend/grift trillions more, but not a dollar for checks to taxpayers...maybe in late October but not now.
Then there's his tax cut for the rich, stimulated the economy and created jobs great, didn't it? (Hint, of course it didn't, it just bankrupt the treasury while jobs and the economy dissolved, his normal business practice, but America is the Trump Casino this time).
How much have his trade wars cost?
Then there's that short bit of wall nay fence Mexico didn't pay for, getting more expensive every day.

You're the one who is hyper anti socialism, and you were incredibly outraged at the size of the debt before Trump and insistent he would erase it term one, but you're keeping your socialist handout even as your boy raids and bankrupts the treasury with your blessing, aren't you.

Police Who Murder Man In Public On Camera Fired

StukaFox says...

Newt, you've already lost.

You didn't lose with Trump in 2016, but with California's Prop 13 in 1978.

The goal of the Neocon movement was to decimate American public education because they knew that an educated population would never vote for the kind of shit they were selling, and because teachers (being educated and all) were a powerful Democratic voting block. Defunding public education was a win/win for them.

It worked beautifully.

The teacher's unions were starved. Public schooling imploded. We went from the most educated populace in the world to the point where 50% of the population can't find their own country on a map.

Then the real screw-job started with the wealth transfer. Unions were busted, jobs were moved overseas. The safety net that kept millions from abject poverty was dissolved ("welfare queens", "food-stamp cheats"). The Middle Class began to evaporate with about 10% climbing up the ladder and the rest being dumped into the street.

For people like me -- people with high-end skills and a college degree -- that shit worked out great. But people who aren't as lucky? Kinda sucks being them. So they got madder and madder. Luckily, there were dark-skinned people that this rage could be directed at. That good ol' American racism? That shit pays dividends if you play it the right way.

Now you have an increasing number of poorly educated people living in poverty with grievances. Hey, guess what -- we have a new tool to focus all that anger and it's called FOX News! They can show you whose dastardly plan it was to keep your poor, white self down on the farm while those FUCKING LIBERALS live it up in the cities!

Lather, rinse, repeat.

See Newt, people like Bob aren't an anomaly, they're the intended end result of a very well-conceived long-term plan by extraordinarily smart people who understood Chomsky, Orwell and Lasker better than you ever will. Bob is now the norm and you are the exception.

Go ahead and vote in Biden or Warren or even Sanders: it doesn't fucking matter because you can't vote out entrenched stupid. No matter who is sitting at 1600 Penn Ave, Bob is sitting in front of his computer, seething and being stupid. He's not going anywhere. He's not going to see things differently and he's damned well not going to get any smarter.

There's a shit-ton of Bobs in this country and their numbers are growing daily. What're you going to do with them? Put 'em in a camp somewhere? Shoot 'em? You cannot have Bobs and the America you want. That leaves you with exactly two choices: you pick up your gun and shoot them, or you pick up your passport and leave. It's one or the other. You might not like the taste of this shit sandwich, but you're going to eat it whether you like it or not.

Also, you think Bob's a little kooky? Go visit 4chan's /pol/, visit whatever 8chan became, visit the comments section of Zero Hedge, read the comments on FOX's YouTube videos: those motherfuckers make Bob look like a goddamn bastion of rationality. Those people, the ones who're yelling at their screens and pounding out febrile screeds? They're armed. They hate you. They want to kill you. The only reason they haven't is because they haven't reached critical mass yet. Give them a couple of years of post-Covid economic collapse and they'll get there.

I'll never forget the most important lesson a Holocaust Survivor taught me: "The smart Jews left first".

Good luck; see you in Lyon.
