Is there some kind of new technology or something going on here? I have difficulty believing anyone mistaking a flat display for a window no matter how good the picture is or how bad the viewer's depth perception is. This guy in particular was inspecting it and obviously trying to figure it out.

In my experience the effect is a little less pronounced with depth perception, but it still works.

While neat, it just seems silly to literally get an eye level view which blocks the drivers eye.
Depth perception is pretty essential I'd think, for driving.

I'd settle for a forehead view or cheekbone view.
At least then you would see them driving at their full potential.

No. However I will tell you the truth behind the matter:
The guy in the beginning was casting a spell on a dog to turn it into an obnoxious whore. He was successful and The stoopid dog-women unable to comprehend its new depth perception walks straight into the fan.

This is something that a Sifter sent me, who lives in Germany and is familiar with the buzz on this movie:

It is said 3D has never been used this purposefully before as it enables marvelous depth perception and the illusion of close proximity to the dancers -- an experience a theater cannot deliver.
