Cornel West: Obama has no moral authority

Yogi says...

I think the big guns is droning Abdulrahman Anwar Al-Awlaki, the 16 year old son of Anwar Al-Awlaki. Born in Denver in 1995, an American citizen was killed by a drone while he searched for his recently droned father in the desert in Yemen where we are not at war. The teenager could only be identified by a piece of his skull which had his hair on it.

Robert Gibbs, Obamas former Press Secretary justified it by saying the boy "should [have] had a more responsible father."

Fuck Obama.

Colbert: Barack Obama-Gun Control Conspiracy

Paranoia. How do people like yourself function with such skewed inability to see a forest for her individual, constituent parts.

Yet another reason to do WHAT with WHAT vote and for WHOM??! Explain the reasoning underlying that conclusion or please.....DON'T!!.....It's glaringly obvious there's a mote the size of fucking Denver protruding from both eyes.

How do THESE people function with their eyes taped-shut?

VoodooV said:

yet another reason to vote for Obama. If only to watch these retards pull another "explanation" out of their ass when Obama continues to not go after guns during his second term.

And yeah, the gun companies wouldn't be feeding the paranoia to increase gun sales...nah. they wouldn't do that.

How do these people function with so much paranoia?

Iran is huge, if you lined its western border up with the west coast of the USA it would stretch from the Mexican border to the Canadian, and as far inland as Western Colorado.
Isfahan is right in the middle of all that, so bringing 'war torn' into this makes about as much sense as linking a shooting rampage in Denver to the drug wars in Mexico.
And in any case there's no war in Iran just yet. War torn Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, etc are all hundreds of miles away.
>> ^artician:
Wow. Even knowing this is coming from (what we're told is) a war-torn part of the world, that's insane.
Haven't they heard of streaking?

You're absolutely right. Wartorn was a poor word choice on my part. "Militaristic" would probably be more accurate, but ultimately I was trying to convey that most US folk don't really know what it's like over there, and they have a bad reputation. And on top of that, now, grenades at football games.

This. I would love to move from the Canton/Massillon, Ohio area, but being poor makes it very hard. The place I live now costs $460 a month. That is for a nice 2 bedroom town house with a generous communal back yard in a nice child friendly neighborhood with some of the best schools in the state. How many places in the country (heck the state) can you find housing in such a nice area so cheap? Even in areas that pay more it usually doesn't overcome the higher housing costs when you are stuck in minimum to a couple bucks above minimum pay range... ($12k to $18k locally a year)
None of the places I would like to relocate to can get in those price ranges and still be out of the slums... heck most of the places I've considered can't even get into slums for those prices (Austin, Silicon Valley area, Arcata, Portland, Seattle, Fort Collins, Denver are the main US ones). And moving out of the country to New Zealand, Iceland, the UK, Netherlands and even Canada, is impossible since an overly expensive Associates degree means you don't have the skills any of those places would give you immigration.
Add to the housing expense the high price of actually moving...

Move somewhere else in Ohio. Cleveland, Cincinnati, or Columbus are going to be vastly better than Canton, and while they will be a little more expensive it won't be anything like going to California. There will be far more job opportunities, too. Then you can make another step up to something better.

$460 a week wouldn't guarantee you to get out of the slums in most of the overseas locations you mentioned (don't know about Canada). Pay rates are higher to compensate, but it does sound like you've got a reasonably good set-up!

My name is Ray. I was born in Vancouver, BC (not the little one in Washington). I've lived in Vancouver, Victoria, Abbotsford, Calgary, Barrie, Angus, Wasaga Beach, Borden, Annapolis Royal, and Halifax. Oops, I forgot Denver. I currently live in Fort Langley, BC. I'm not nearly as interesting as everyone else on the sift. The most interesting things I've done are to get arrested a couple of times and I once threw a piece of copper wire across the trolley lines at Fourth and Trimble and shorted out all the buses from Main Street to UBC. And I think I may be the oldest person on here but I'm not saying how old.

Oh and my avatar, clearly inspired by "The Big Lebowski". I chose it one night after, on a whim, I became an ordained minister of The Church of the Latter Day Dude

Firstly, looks as if from the description that the animal was owned by someone who like many dog owners in general, regardless of breed, fail to consider before taking on the responsibility of pet ownership; Before taking on the care and control of a breed as predictable as a pit bull they might have looked to the future when the dog was an adult what they were in for. Most people make emotional decisions when choosing a pet. Oh~Quite certain that it is illegal to own a Pit or Rottweiler in the city limits of Denver.
Most insurance companies require a special rider for owners of certain breeds as well-the rates are higher. That this choggie took on the responsibility would suggest that instead of having the animal abused by another idiot owner (notice The blame be directed NOT at the canine?) instead it be humanly cared-for and exercised, in a fenced yard. The dog also looks well-fed (no collar though).
Regardless of the situation, I hear the above argument many times, usually evoking some tragic situation where some ghetto-raised Pitbull has mauled someone. Again, who is to blame, the careless owner or do you simply solve the problem by eliminating the breed? I tend to agree with the breeders: Eliminate the idiot factor~Humans too ignorant to have the dog.
Bottom line is either educate the idiots who own animals without a frikkin' license to do so, or butch-up: The world is an hazardous place and the #1 animals that make it so are the

Shaqtin' A Fool: Javale McGee - Hilarious Basketball Plays

This looks like a dupe but in case it's not. It's not nice to make fun of the mentally challenged.

It's not a dupe in the "Videosift" sense, the only reason I put it up is they ran this a few nights ago after the Jazz vs. Suns game and I now easily assume the "Shaqtin' A Fool" bit is a little on the stale side.

But, I liked the commentary and the hiliarity of the plays so I thought I'd at least sift it for that reason alone.

If enough people think it's overkill to have this video I'll kill it--no problems to be had .

Seriously, what is wrong with the guy. I'm glad he has a coach and training team that genuinely seem to be trying to stop him from doing these "no-brainers" type of mistakes now in Denver. The look on the face during those plays of the Wizards coach did have to make you laugh though...

No, I am not saying God cares about football, or who wins. It isn't about the football game. Tebow is a Christian who walks with Jesus openly, and gives God all the glory. Tebow puts God first, and that is why God is giving everyone a sign that He is with Tebow. God gives these kind of signs to others through those who sincerely love Him.

God is also helping the starving children in Africa. Look up Christian charities in Africa and see all that God is doing for them. Starvation is not due to a lack of resources on the Earth, it is due to greed. You could feed all the starving people in the world on the amount of money Europe spends on ice cream every year.

>> ^Taint:
Are you seriously saying that Jesus Christ helped win a Denver Broncos game? That's what God was up to on Sunday? The thousands of starving kids in Africa can wait! I've got to help Tebow not only win his game against an opposing sports team, but I'm going to make sure he runs over 300 yards so no one might think it was a coincidence!
Seriously, if you're going to bother believing in God, at least think bigger.

I don't know what deity was responsible for the picture to come down on her head, but it makes me want to turn religious - too good to be coincidence! (Then again, maybe not)

That's pretty blatant..as blatant as Tebow scoring 316 yards last game. The God I know, Jesus Christ, will let you know that there is no such thing as coincidence, and that you're here for a reason. Place your trust in Him and pray and ask Him for the truth.
Revelation 3:20
Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
