Movie Theater turns angry voicemail into win.

Januari says...

Really the only theater i go to... and that probably won't ever change...

I've seen them actually turn people away who try to bring kids in... (they have a designated day for it...)

And ridiculing people on phones is kind of a staple... Not a huge movie person but it's defiantly where i go when i do.

L.A. Noire timelapse: "World in Motion"

I've been thinking about picking this one up second hand at some point because of the positive reivews, but it's worryingly reminiscent of the whole mid-nineties FMV game atrocity.
edit:
But yeah, it is very pretty.

It's worth it, it can be compared to other games but isn't quite like any of them. I think it's certainly the shape of things to come though with the face capture.

The ending is a bit wtf, but it's certainly worth a play. If you're not keen on buying it, defiantly rent it.

Of course I know you're "not all bad." I am surprised that you would feel the need to say that to me -- I know the difference between a troll who deliberately says things to shock and a guy who makes a bewb joke.

You say not to "take it personally." What am I taking personally? Please explain (that is a real question and I am tired of being told it.) If you could see some of the private messages I have received - believe me, some part of this is meant personally.

I have had private exchanges with the trolls about this. In the trolls' defense, despite my every attempt to be clear about what I am doing, they twist my words and sling them back at me, ascribing motivations and intentions and opinions to me that are 100% incorrect. Some of them are taking this VERY personally. But unfortunately, they are mad at me about this things I don't believe.

So why the heck aren't you telling the trolls to not take it personally?

And excuse me, but why aren't you taking that advice yourself? Your first comment is a personal defense -- "we're not all bad." Sounds like you are feeling the need to defend yourself when I have been very clear what has been bothering me and it ain't you.

I am not angry -- it is so hard to write these emails because there is no tone of voice, and a simple strong declarative sentence sounds harsh. These are real questions, not hypotheticals. I'm asking you -- why aren't you telling the trolls to not take it personally? What is it that I am taking personally?

I normally get messages like this privately and I answer privately. Since you have chosen to send it to me publicly, I am responding publicly. I would have preferred that this personal exchange be.... personal. Oh well.

All these (strong declarative) words and I haven't thanked you yet. Yes, they do need to have their "cock slapped down." Thanks for recognizing that. I do wish that you hadn't led with, excuse me for being blunt, a vagina slap down on me.

I hope you realize that this thing is only continuing because the trolls are the ones continuing it. It can end at any time. I have been very very clear. I will respond to every troll on that site. I contacted them privately so that the trolls could silently fade away and no one would even notice. They chose to engage. Their choice. It is always their choice.

So please don't tell me to stop. It is wasted words, honey. I'm the mom here, Jigga. The trolls were told that if they continued to act badly, there would be consequences. I'm just keeping to my word.

I am sitting here typing this, and I see that rottenseed has just posted something on the sift talk. Do you think it possibly can be that he is leaving me a great and supportive message? That he is finally manning up and doing the right thing, or do you think that he is continuing his childish, defiant behavior? Good god, are trolls boring. (If rotten wrote something sweet, I will come back and gladly apologize. What do you think the odds are that I will be back?)

Five years I have listened to trolling, been uncomfortable and said nothing. I know how it works. Don't engage them, they love a reaction. But Jigga, I got pushed over the edge by specific events, not the general atmosphere. As an educator of both boys and girls (are you? or are you in a private school?), I would think that you would be 100% supportive of standing up to the bullies.

Anyway, I am glad that you ended with an atta-girl. I do appreciate it. I am doing the good work here, even if I have to deal with this every day for the rest of my life.

TL DR: If you choose to give me advice to back down on the sift talk debacle, do it privately not publicly. Otherwise, the comment stream will be messed up with my long responses.

In reply to this comment by JiggaJonson:
I was late to the party on the sifttalk post but I thought I'd drop in and say we're not all bad. That kind of aggressive nonsense can usually be overcome with reason and understanding.

My advice? Q-TIP. quit. taking. it. personally. Attack their arguments, and they'll show their weakness.

That being said, you cant save them all. Every now and again you have to cock slap one of em down. :-D orrrr hmmm maybe a tit job would be more appropriate punishment?

This is all good and fun , but really should we not be pioneering technology that caters to the pore and the majority of humans on the planet rather than a technology that will only cater to the super wealthy at first and then maybe the very upper middle western class in 30 years ?
As far as i understand the altitude for this craft would be to low and short lived for scientific use maybe some of the research from this will go into national space programs.
stuff like this is far better than war and entertainment is defiantly an important thing i still feel this for such a small section of privileged society that its just an insult to the majorty of people on earth.

No no no no no no no NO NO NO NO god no.

Firstly, who are you to decide what people spend their money on? Richard branson's company can do whatever the hell richard branson chooses because he made the successful company. Why the hell don't you spend all your time and money and effort on solving world hunger problems, if you're so keen to point out where others can increase their charity.

There's money in this for branson, that's why virgin is doing it. If there's one thing that will give a gigantic boot to the progression and interest in space travel, space flight, space technology, it's commercial companies finding a way to make money out of it.

If i told you to live and work inside your house all day every day, you'd get bored and want to escape the house and see the town. If i told you to live and work in your town all the time, you'd want to see the country. If i told you to stay in your country, you'd want to see the world. Why are people so content to sit on this rock indefinitely? If not space, what else? Do we just stay here like a fenced animal, our eyes blinkered, focused so hard on chasing bits of paper with "£20" or "$20" on them?

There are enough people in this world such that we can do more than JUST solve world hunger. We didn't drag people away from charity events to work on space flight.

I don't think we live in a world where restricting development for the sake of keeping things fair is viable. Or functional, or reasonable. It certainly is short-sighted.

When bionic eyes and limbs go commercial, when they're superior to what we're born with, it's going to be hideously, prohibitively expensive at first, but then the price will come down as the technology is finessed and further developed. Soon enough, they'll be available to a significant percentage of the population. That's progress.

Let the rich die and iron out all the kinks...

...seriously though, the cost of technology always decreases. Don't worry about being able to afford a space flight one day. Unless you're like 70 years old...

“I do not think that the wireless waves I have discovered will have any practical application”
(Heinrich Rudolf Hertz)

Something to think about for you.

You make it sound like all researchers worldwide are only researching in ONE field which has no use (yet) for the poor. As for the "we" part of your statement: Virgin Galactic is a privately owned company and they can pioneer whatever technology they like.

Why should this be an insult to the majority of people on earth? Was the moonlanding an insult too? Or the space-programme of all spacefaring nations? What about arctic or deep sea research?

Don't get me wrong, I too am saddend by the devide between developed and undeveloped nations, but stopping "our" developement is not a solution. Even more so when all(certainly allmost all) technology for undeveloped nations to become developed is available.
(Yes, I know I am ignoring many other factors which keep the poor poor, but they have nothing to do with technological and intelectual advancement of the human species in general)

P.S. and while I'm already rambling: I really hate HD-embeds without the fullscreen button

Well, foxes are in the canine family so I figured it was close enough. Your tags are more accurate though.

Yeah, and because Worf is an atheist and therefore cherishes life more than those kooky religious: in First Contact he was ready to ram the Defiant into the Borg Cube, which wouldn't have damaged the cube in the slightest but sure would've killed everyone on board his ship.
