This video is too optimistic to be a Lynch film.

Southland Tales Trailer
I thought this movie was great. Full Disclosure, I didn't know it was a Richard Kelly movie until half way through when I imdb'd it out of sheer wtf-ness. I thought it was some kind of comedy version of Von Trier or David Lynch.
Not to say that it didn't make ANY sense though, i thought the casting of the Rock and various icons of L.A. superficiality (Buffy the valleygirl, JT, etc) was nice, and added to the feeling of airheaded people taking themselves VERY seriously and not having a clue what's going on.
Also, This.

I'm thinking that it would be a beautiful world if we could recognize and accept the naked forms of human beings and be able to respect those forms as a part of our lives that there'e nothing to be ashamed of..
It's not the nudity, it'd the breast squeezing and finger fucking.
>> ^geo321:
Her gestures moving along with the music are artistic to me. Art is subjective. I just don't get censoring a video for breasts. I guess that's North America for us.
Her "gestures" are squeezing her breasts and finger fucking.
>> ^geo321:
My view is that I don't find someone showing their breasts as that big a deal or shocking or to be instantly classified as porn.
She's not "showing" her breasts, she's fondling and squeezing them. And finger fucking.
I, personally, think the video itself is awesome. But the intention of it is so... erotically in-your-face, I don't see how anyone can argue "artistic merit".
To me, an example of female nudity, i.e. BREASTS, having "artistic merit" is the very first song in David Lynch & Angelo Badalamenti's Industrial Symphony No. 1, "I fell for you baby, like a bomb." No finger fucking.

I've mentioned this before anytime a Dune vid gets sifted (and here I go again)...anyone familiar with Spicediver's fanedit? Check out fanedit.org to find it. If you like Lynch's Dune, then you'll really like Spicediver's version.
From the readme:
Neither of the officially released versions of David Lynch's visually amazing 'Dune' are satisfactory. The Theatrical Version was gutted to the point of incomprehension by executive producer Dino De Laurentiis in his quest to make it a two hour edit. The easier-to-follow Extended Version with restored footage was so incompetently put together by MCA TV that Lynch removed his name from the writing and directing credits.
Broadly, my intention with the Alternative Edition is to improve storytelling and flow by preserving the best elements from both official versions of the film while also integrating some newly available deleted scenes.
Never heard of the fanedit before. Torrent downloading now, thanks!

Summoning David Lynch....
the FOUNTAIN-death is the road to awe
I love it when people have strict requirements for their art. There's lots of spoon-fed fiction out there for you plebes. This is a work of art (how ignorant\pretentious do you have to be to call it an "attempt at art?" And the story is right there on screen if you're willing to watch and listen and stop waiting for an explanation. In fact the story is rather clear it just leaves some things open-ended as to what's real and what's part of a book within the story. Yes it's a tone poem, but it has a plot which I could describe to you succinctly. It's a helluva lot more straightforward narratively than anything by David Lynch.
Also have to disagree on the religious overtones (are you referring to the tree of life?). There's lots of spirituality but very little religion in it.
