I always thought Donnie Darko seemed like it came from a slightly under-developed genius, but this looks just plain silly.... a very expensive looking just plain silly though, so it might be worth checking out. Of course Sarah Michelle Geller leans that urge a bit.

Can I throw Sleepy Hollow, Edward Scissorhands, and Donnie Darko on the pile, even though none of them are really 'horror'?

I'm going to have to check this out. I LOVE Donnie Darko, so I gotta give this movie a chance, even if it has a somewhat lightweight cast.

This cover of Mad World has been overused ever since Donnie Darko came out, but it's funny in this context.

fk that, man. im pissed off about the directors cut. I was going to show my friend what a great movie Donnie Darko is and now he thinks its CRAP because how stupid the directors cut is. how awesome is that

I just watched the directors cut two days ago, I didn't like it as much as the theatrical version... totally ruined it for me: they overdramatized stuff and included unnecessary scenes with the music in the wrong places and spliced in all kinds of stupid "time vision" crap along with pages of Grandma death's book fading into the movie randomly.. I mean they might be ok for hardcore fans who might want to learn more about the characters or time travel darko style... but just didnt cut it for me, unnecessary and pointless. ruins the short sweet hits of pure Darko madness .

my advice do NOT buy that piece of crap director's cut even if you are a Donnie Darko fan. some things are just better left alone instead of some superflous effort at explaining, a shit job at that.

Yeah.. that Donnie Darko soundtrack has a strange way of making even the worst music sound really cool.

Hey I know this from the Donnie Darko Soundtrack. Would've never believed that I like that.

Fortunately I missed that whole Gears of War adstravaganza, so the song still works for me. And Donnie Darko was an excellent movie. I actually enjoyed doing the whole boatload of research to figure out what it all meant. ;-)
