The game multiplies your velocity by 120% when you jump, but doesn't allow forward velocity to pass 120%. If you are backwards, and crouching, the game doesn't properly turn 'backwards' speed into 'forwards' speed, so it keeps multiplying your speed as you keep jumping. And since there's no friction if you bunnyhop perfectly... you can go ridiculously fast. The fastest place you'll really see it though is approaching glados, there's no other hallway big enough.

The guy who deployed in front was blocking the line of fire for two of his squad-mates. He should be crouched close enough to touch the bumper if he doesn't want to get hit in the back by a stray bullet.

Maybe he was more afraid of the driver than the bullets?

I hear you farhad . . . and that raises a good question about this movie that I love. It's so hopeful in the face of hopelessness because it says that even in a failing relationship there's hope of connection, and maybe this time . . . but the reality is much more bleak in my experience. I've had beautiful moments, but I've had to try to teach myself that hopefulness in the face of rejection is the worst possible error, creating months and years, sometimes, of sorrow. That said, "meet me in montauk." Hope crouches in wait.

Reminds me of the scene in Crouching Tiger where Michelle Yeoh and Zhang Shiyi face off. Only not nearly as cool. But yeah, I suppose if you had to pick a scene from the sequels.

I have to question the effectiveness of a long blade that wobbles that much.

Crouching Tiger does have some of my favorite fight scenes ever, because they seem to owe more to Gene Kelly and Fred Astaire than they do Bruce Lee or Sonny Chiba.

The chances of hitting the neck are pretty slim, when under fire, you'll crouch and point your rifle, which will pretty much cover that area anyways, its much more crucial to have full mobility for your head.
