Really creative cosplay - see if you can guess the character

Shepppard says...

Good lord, took me 3 seconds.

Copy and paste to see answer below:

the crazy guy from Ocarina of Time/Majoras mask that always has his organ grinder. Teaches the song of storms in OOT, and gives the conductors mask in Majoras Mask.

Carjacker jumps in icy river - Then he gets Tazed

jiyanibi says...

Interesting. I guess I assumed the fact that he was soaking wet would cause the charge to be amplified somehow, but now that I actually think about it, I suppose water only helps conduct the charge. Since he already is his own conductor, the water doesn't make it any worse. Science...it works, bitches.

London to Brighton in 4 minutes - 51 miles - 765 mph

Plasma Rocket Breakthrough

Yeah, right. Those bags would melt and deflate. Metal is the worst possible thing to use as your heat shield, because it's a conductor. You wanna prevent the whole thing from melting, but no matter what you use some of it is gonna be vaporized. Best choose an insulator so it doesn't all melt at once.

Airs - La Femme D'Argent [Set to footage from 1905]

Enzoblue says...

Ok, now I've officially seen, (in undeniably authentic video), evidence that women once wore hats three feet wide. Somehow I STILL feel I need more proof. I can't bring myself to believe that they were that moronic. As for the rest. No lines, no traffic lights, no conductors - just get out of the way when you have to and get to where you're going at will. I love it.

Edit: Sorry if I offend, but the music didn't seem in the least bit artistic to me, just atmospheric music that was too modern and too loud for the content.

What is money, how it works and why it affects you!

The only way gold can be devalued is when the supply increases, which is happening because they are still mining.

Or if some significant portion of the population realized that it's not much more than a slightly worse conductor than copper, and decided to value it accordingly.

The facts that it is rare, or difficult to produce, do not, in themselves, constitute an argument for value (see panda shit coinage). The fact that people have been of a predisposition historically is also completely irrelevant, The market for buggy whips sucks, people were really keen on them for a few thousand years, didn't make it permanent.

The main problem with all "real value" arguments is that the only thing that does anything like "store value" is industrial infrastructure, as it can be used to offset labor costs in excess of what it cost to build, but this value eventually gets used up, or wastes away with the progression of technology. No inert currency can accomplish this. A functioning currency is a fiction only, it does not really matter how you implement the lie.

The argument that fiat can just keep printing is also largely irrelevant for any real assessment. Even a gold-standard bank can reduce its reserve holding from 20% to 5%, and thereby quadruple the money supply without increasing the backing asset value. If you think we are ever going to not have a fractional reserve system, you are smoking crack. Going gold gets us approximately nothing.

Joke for a promote (Comedy Talk Post)

dotdude says...

One morning 3 Alabama good old boys and 3 Yankees were in a ticket line at the Birmingham train station heading to Atlanta for a big football game. The 3 Northerners each bought a ticket and watched as the 3 Southerners
bought just one ticket among them.

"How are the 3 of you going to travel on one 1 ticket?" asked one of the Yankees.

"Watch and learn" answered one of the boys from the South.

When the 6 travelers boarded the train, the 3 Yankees sat down, but the 3 Southerners crammed into a bathroom together and closed the door. Shortly after the train departed, the conductor came around to collect tickets. He knocked on the bathroom door and said, "tickets please." The door opened just a crack and a single arm emerged with a ticket in hand.

The Conductor took it and moved on.

The Yankees saw this happen and agreed it was quite a clever idea. Indeed, so clever that they decided to do the same thing on the return trip and save some money. That evening after the game when they got to the Atlanta train station, they bought a single ticket for the return trip while to their astonishment the 3 Southerners didn't buy a single ticket!

"How are you going to travel without a ticket?" asked one of the perplexed Yankees.

"Watch and learn", answered one of the Southern boys.

When they boarded the train the 3 Northerners crammed themselves into a bathroom and the 3 Southerners crammed themselves into the other bathroom across from it.

Shortly after the train began to move, one of the Southerners left their bathroom and walked quietly over to the Yankee's bathroom. He knocked on the door and said "ticket please"!

Derren Brown - Mental Conducting

NordlichReiter says...

It helps that those people are professionals.

Most professional musicians do not need a conductor to carry a tune, or find a song.

As a amateur musician I can say that Improv is the easiest type of playing there is. There really arent any rules, just pay attention to your rhythms.

Excellent!

Derren Brown - Mental Conducting

Xax says...

It's a shame that we don't see the moment that Brown transmits or touches the conductor. I have no problem with Brown not wanting to intentionally reveal the key, but I at least like it to be filmed so I can try and figure it out.
