WONDER WOMAN Comic-Con Trailer

ChaosEngine says...

Well, at least it's not quite as desaturated as the rest of the DCU (yo, Synder! Colour is not a four letter word!)

Could be interesting, butI guess we'll have to wait and see. Has a lot of bad momentum to overcome.

I'm partial to "ridgy-didge"

Also like some of the colourful sayings like:
"It's going off like a frog in a sock"
or
"That family is rougher than hessian undies"

Now i'm curious. Do you use any Aussie slang in your normal life? If so what words or terms?

Racism in UK -- Rapper Akala

White people in England are immigrants though if they happen to be Polish, for example. Only the Brits in Poland are expats. Not sure about Brits in Poland who happen to be of colour, they might be elevated to expat status, unless some football hooligans meet them in a dark alley, then they become... yeah he is about right.

The "individual acts of prejudice" can only happen because society in general allows them.

Mark Blyth on Brexit: "revolt against technocracy"

There is not much to discuss, he is basically spot-on, even if the presentation is a bit colourful, but he only talks about whats wrong, not about how to get out of this mess, which seems to me to be the most interesting problem now.

"mocap" = "motion capture", correct. procedural animation is animation driven by an input. like the shapes/colours of the materials can be driven but the types of movements the mocap itself or by the music (though i don't think that one is being done here) or by physics simulations or generated noise.

CGP Grey - You Are Two (Brains)

When right brain picks up a Rubik's cube because it was asked to, left brain has no knowledge of that. So when the Rubik's cube is passed into the hand controlled by left brain, how does left brain know to even receive the item? Is it acting on habit - i.e. it's so used to cooperating with left brain and body parts that it accepts things left brain offers? And in that case, is the incorrect explanation from left brain influenced by what it thinks right brain wants? For favourite colour - is each side influenced by what it thinks the other prefers?

I suspect viral marketing techniques like anthropomorphising body parts is taking away slightly from the truth. It's a fun conclusion that captures the imagination to say that there are two entities, one in thrall to the other, but we are talking about a malfunctioning brain so the conclusions need careful consideration. These type of things can be a little economical with the truth to paint a better picture, I know the physics ones are on occasion.

Can't imagine that colour ink from the comics page - (if it was Sunday) would be particularly good for you if inhaled.

Well, sure, but it was at least slightly amusing that a fund run by David Cameron’s father avoided paying tax in Britain http://gu.com/p/4tvn6/stw (as far as I can tell just about legal, but very shady) and watching FIFA squirm (again) could provide some amusement too.

Maybe my outlook is coloured by living in a country where although we don't have a huge problem with corruption (at least compared to Brazil, or the US) we can very much appreciate the Brazilian saying about corruption inquiries ending in pizza...

The fact that a German lawyer by the name of Jürgen Mossack co-founded MossFon might motivate same folks to at least dig deeper into MossFon, which would be a start.
