I like the colour scheme. A post-apocalypse would be a dismal place to sandbox in, but all of the colour makes the world look reclaimed and living.

I had a workstation set up in my garage. Every year, about midsummer, a dragonfly would fly up in front of my face, hover, checking out what I was doing onscreen for about 10-15 seconds, then leave. Coolest freaking thing ever. Must have been something about the refresh rate or colours, but still hilarious.

So I'm going to ask a serious question here.

Are kids not raised anymore to know that if you run from the Police, they will get shot?

That's my question.
It's the number one thing I learned about Police as I grew up - it's ingrained in our culture, "Stop or I'll shoot!"
If you run from the Police, you get shot. EVERYONE knows this. If you're dumb enough to run, just know they are going to shoot at you.
What the mom should be saying is, "Damn I brought him up better than that! Why did he run? --Just never could teach that boy anything..."

This is true if you're Black or White or Green or any other colour. You flee from Police, they will shoot.

I actually thought he was white in the beginning. Maybe you have to be American.

I wonder what people from other countries think of UK regional dialects. I think I probably judge people more by how they sound than by the colour of their skin; I wish I could hear them as a foreigner would, presumably without all the attached bias. On the other hand my accent is good currency almost everywhere...

Take any highly competitive field and you've got similar professional grading based upon excellence in the field. Legal, Medical, Engineering, the same kind of professionals can be found hunting for top tier talent in any of these, no different than the NBA. Their criteria can be every bit as colour blind and there is strong economic incentives to do so to boot.

And that would be racist, and it was wrong, and it's something we should be glad to be rid of.

Reasonable, non-racist people are going to disagree with you. They are going to, correctly, call your policy racist.

Can you really not see the other side that thinks fighting racism with racism is the wrong approach?

If I believed in heaven and hell, this is what I'd imagine the latter to be like. That looks utterly soul-sucking...then again, I guess this isn't far off of what an office cubicle is like, just more colourful.

I'm going to be honest. VHS never looked that dull in colour - I have no idea where they get that from. I still have some VHS and the colour is quite vibrant.

On one hand... ugh... the cranberries.

on the other hand, that was some pretty *skillful bass playing. Also, I am distracted by those sweet coloured strings!

Colour me confused. How does the store “forget” to take the tag off. Isn’t the whole point of a security tag to set off an alarm when you leave the shop?

If your potatoes don't have flavour you're shopping at the wrong stores. Same if your potatoes have no colour like this.

A good potato should be a nice shade of yellow, and taste creamy.

I had assumed some optical trickery... e.g. the balls are all the same colour but they appear different colours depending on which pit they fall into.

If we must play semantics, sex then. Human beings are born with either a penis or vagina. Same as humans are born with 5 fingers and toes. In extremely rare circumstances humans sometimes have more or less fingers and toes than that, but we aren't being hateful towards those individuals by generally observing that humans have five fingers and toes. Similarly, hermaphroditus happens too, but saying humans are born with either a penis or vagina isn't a hateful statement against people.

As for gender being something different than sex, if you define it that way, than gender is nothing but a set of social expectations. Who cares what social norms and expectations people are or aren't drawn to and abide by?

Race, many people change their racial identity. My DNA and my skin colour don't change no matter how loudly I protest and how many like minded people I get to affirm me.

Ethnicity, people pass as ethnic groups they weren't born into Not looking like your ancestors enough to pass as someone else still doesn't change your parentage. Nobody passing me on the street is liable to be able to identify my Mennonite heritage, but neither can I cease having been born into that cultural heritage.
