Taco Bell: Discovering Bethel, Alaska

seltar says...

@spoco2 I liked it, and I thought it was a nice thing to do, even if they brought their own cameras.
Am I still allowed to think that, or do I have to think what you are thinking? Not sure what you are trying to accomplish here.

I don't get people like you.. Why can't you just be happy that others enjoyed it, and leave it at that? Why make it anti-corporate, and try to take away what good others saw in it?

Do you hate all these videos as well, considering they are all for extra PR?

Coke in the new bottle bag - Is this a good thing?

grinter says...

@wormwood. I don't for one second think that Coca Cola is doing this for environmental reasons, but plastic bottles were never an issue. Coca Cola is, and has been, selling their product in reusable glass bottles. Customers don't want to pay the deposit on the glass bottle (or bother bringing the bottle back), and that's where plastic enters the picture.

Could you point out the straw man or hateful comments? I'm scratching my head at this one..

>> ^PostalBlowfish:

Why is it that every religious poster has to speak in strawmen? This one is pretending there is something hateful about saying "I DON'T BELIEVE YOU." I guess the Nigerian prince would call it hateful if I didn't give him my bank account. Playing the victim card in the first few lines of your special snowflake poem is a good way to get me to go take a shit while your video is playing.
If it weren't for religious hate, you'd never hear from an atheist.
I hope this guy at least came up with something more intelligent than "I hate Coca-Cola, but I LOVE Coke."

Quick everyone downvote their brainwashing childrens and marketing to them!! @!# $@# $@# $# $

hurruh !
Personally I think its kind of gross to put this in kids. Why the heck would anyone want to contribute to kids wanting that tripe. Like an 8 year old is going to want to watch a McDonald commercial ( actually they might), or would they ? and what does that say about them ? or their parents ? Tune in next week.

*UPVOTED*

I don't believe people are brainwashed into buying things just because they saw it on TV. If they really are influenced that much by what they see on TV who cares? I don't see why this is such a big issue.

I'm not pro-large corporation, but their advertising helps pay for the shows we enjoy. So if you don't like commercials then don't watch TV. If you think your kids will be brainwashed then don't let THEM watch TV. But what do we think is going to happen? Because someone upvotes a video some kid somewhere watches it for a minute and is going to watch that video and become addicted to McDonalds? Not just go watch other videos?

Does this kid ONLY watch commercials on this site? Because call me crazy but there are TONS of other videos to watch and commercials RARELY make it to the front page.

I was just being sarcastic because some people downvoted a Coca-Cola video I posted with kids having fun. This site should be about Quality Control NOT Content Control.

10 Misconceptions Debunked

joedirt says...

You are the world's biggest fool if you pay for bottled tap water in bottles shipped across the country from Coca Cola bottling plants. It is exactly Coke without the sugar and coloring.

With the minimalist carbon filter, any US tap water is way better than any untested, unregulated bottled water that bakes in warehouses in plastic containers.

It is the same municipal water in all of these sources, plus you are using up oil and destroying our roads when you subsidize shipping bullshit water to your grocery store because you want to pay an idiot tax.

@chilaxe, I never know if you are serious or trolling, but since you admire Cain so much, perhaps it would interest you to know that you would also consider his parents low class and not well educated, who worked 'cognitively simplistic' jobs:

Herman Cain was born in Memphis, Tennessee, to Lenora Davis Cain, a cleaning woman and domestic worker, and Luther Cain, Jr., who was raised on a farm and worked as a barber and janitor, as well as a chauffeur for Coca-Cola Company president Robert W. Woodruff. Cain has said that as he was growing up, his family was "poor but happy." Cain related that his mother taught him about her belief that "success was not a function of what you start out with materially, but what you start out with spiritually". His father worked three jobs to own his own home — something he achieved during Cain's childhood — and to see his two sons graduate.

Also, the uploader is obviously in the Air Force, so he must have at least graduated from high school.

Coca-Cola Magic Machine!

The commentary and downvotes are well within the spirit of the channel. The description reads....

--------------

"Commercial Sift
by looris

Commercials, advertisements, and everything about someone trying to gain money, to sell crap, to get discounts, to promote things, and so on.

http://mlx.videosift.com/
Style courtesy of mlx, who has done a great job and won a prize for that, because commercials are never without a price

http://maxbarry.com/jennifergovernment/
Logo is from Jennifer Government by Max Barry, which is a GREAT modern-cyberpunk book about corporations which all of you should really buy. Really, do yourself this favour."

--------------

I don't get the picture that looris had free ad time for ruthless corporations in mind when he made this channel. If Coca Cola wants comment free advertising on this site, let them pay for it.

Just because you don't see the politics, doesn't mean they aren't there. Outside of all of Coke's unethical business practices and labor abuse, The Coca-Cola Company, itself, spends a lot of money on politics, supporting candidates and political front groups: http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php?title=Coca-Cola_Company

Beyond this, I think advertising diabetes inducing products to kids, and co-opting the iconography of a beloved cultural holiday is gross. Santa Clause doesn't drink Coke, he drinks hot cocoa and apple cider.

Anyway, I know you probably don't care about any of this and just wanted to enjoy a cute commercial. I get that and I'm sorry I've antagonized you. I've paid a visit to your pq, so net gain for you.

*sigh*

So then seriously why have the commercial channel? Or the Viral Channel?

If all we are going to do is punish finds of videos that actually just make some people smile but offend others then we should not even support this stuff.

Honestly it's frustrating to me because the video just made me happy, without analyzing all the undertones. So now we're just censoring other peoples fun based on neo-political ideals?

It's not Video-Sift at that point it's Video-Censor.
It's *Quality Control, not *Content Control.

This site is being so politicized lately it's making me really have a disdain for it.

Do you have anything other than third hand knowledge of such occurrences ? I was going to downvote that ludicrous comment, but I thought I would wait.
