Yea, just think how much better Christopher Nolan could have made the batman movies if instead of actually building a batmobile he just CGI phones it in. Yea, I've got nothing to complain about at all.

Enjoy your Jar Jar Binks circle jerk.

Everything Wrong With The Dark Knight Rises In 3 Minutes

Quadrophonic says...

I think the problem is when a director gets so much credit as Nolan, the studios go against their normal habit and give the guy as much freedom and money as they can afford. I don't say that freedom of ones creativity is a bad thing in general. But I think it can produce a situation in which decisions of the director aren't questioned anymore, because who dares to question the almighty Christopher Nolan. They end up doing everything like one guy thinks is cool and we end up with something like Star Wars: Episode 1.

Although this sounds contradictionary, I think a good artist needs boundries for his work as much as he needs the freedom to express himself.

My top five:
Ridley Scott - Alien, Blade Runner
Kubrick - 2001, Clockwork Orange, Dr Strangelove
Christopher Nolan - View video above
The Whedon - Firefly, Buffy (TV), the Avengers
Nicholas Meyer (Wrath of Khan, Undiscovered Country)
-Interesting tidbits
-I knew Nimoy Directed The Voyage Home, but didn't know he directed 3 Men and a Baby. - hmmph.
-I don't include Lucas, as he was a (3 movie) one hit wonder. Seriously, what else has he done thats's memorable?
-JJ Abrahms has WRITTEN and PRODUCED a ton of stuff I love, but he hasn't really directed anything.
-The Buffy episode "Hush" is the best, most original, scary, stand-alone story I have ever watched on television.

Whedon is amazing that goes without saying. You're right to not include Lucas, all you have to do is watch Indian Jones trilogy to see how he shouldn't direct and Spielberg should!

Christopher Nolan Tells A Joke

I didn't get it...

Understandable.......this is going to be difficult to explain but I'll try. If you look at all of Chris Nolan's films, he hasn't made a single comedy, they're all super serious. The comedy within this video is pointing out the fact that he doesn't (therefore) have a sense of humour.

I just looked over his list of films again and suddenly realised that he's probably made some of the most defining films of my life, how the hell can you argue with these puppies:

Terminator 1 and 2. Terminator 2? That film just literally ruled most of the 90's for quotes and praise. Still popular today.
Aliens. Need i say more? This film is the DEFINITION of action and suspense to me.
The Abyss. My dad (my hero at that age) built it up for months to me as a kid, finally saw it and fell in love. Beautiful film.
True Lies. Probably my favourite arnie film. I was obsessed with arnie and action and spies and detectives at that age. Tom Arnold was amazing. Ages well. Oh and Tia Carrera.
Titanic. HUGE film. I'd never felt the phenomenon of a film becoming an instant world-wide hit before. I don't think one day went by in 1997 where i didn't hear titanic mentioned on tv.

Pretty amazing! Only rival for success rate for me is christopher nolan.

Anne Hathaway and Marion Cotillard, two of the most overrated actresses of the past few years (with an exception for Cotillard in "La Môme"). This trailer makes this last B-man look terribly disappointing.

Have to say i'm not a fan of the potential characters in the film nor those 2 actresses. I liked the first 2 and i think christopher nolan is very bankable right now, so i hope i'm surprised!

Another remake... likely because the typical US moviegoer can't be bothered with such activities as... Uhh.. reading (subtitles).

Yeah to hell with reimaginations or reinterpretations...lets read the original papyrus manuscripts and NOTHING ELSE!

Hopefully it'll be a better remake than so many other horrible hollywood reworks than didn't quite come up to par. Good for them if then can pull it off.

If there's anyone I'd trust with this...it would be David Fincher...him or Christopher Nolan. Fight Club is and always will be my favorite movie, no matter who misinterprets it however many times.

Oh dear. Is this some sort of bid for making the worst film ever? Clichés abound, the trailer shows the whole film and I'm betting even Ewan McGregor passed on this.
Mind you if it was directed by Christopher Nolan and it was posited as a series of dreams I bet people would say it was the best thing ever.

It's strange. I'm not exactly sure why but if I was reading a book with this storyline I would be completely into it, but when it's a movie the concept just seems ridiculous. I do feel it has some fairly good actors in it though.
