Kid Gets Custom Trump Shirt Made Gets Special Message

Lukio says...

For me it's quite the contrary, I would prefer that a company where I order custom printed t-shirts does not decide to chime in with their own political commentary not matter if it says "Trump Lover" or "I hate trees".

It is none of their business to give their snide commentary in this manner, they can deny the order and that is fine, then I'll go somewhere else.

Inb4 someone thinks I'm a Trump or Hillary supporter - I can't even vote in your country so I don't really care about them.

Kid doesn't know he just gave that T-shirt company some really good free publicity. Many more people will buy shirts there now, while they might lose 2 Trump customers. I'm pretty sure they'll be OK.

Woman almost hits biker by merging, gets caught by cops

bareboards2 says...

Well, I did ask you to correct my observation if it was indeed wrong.

Tell me why he couldn't slow down though? Couldn't he have slowed down? Let her pass? Move to the left to protect his exposed leg and then slowed down?

Like I said, I'm not a motorcycle rider. In a car, I would have slowed down and inched left as I did so. Is that not an option on a motorcycle? At those relatively slow speeds they were driving?

I just watched it again, and I gotta say -- it sure looks to me like he could have slowed down to protect himself. AND I see this with the eyes of a car driver, not a motorcycle driver. I could be wrong.

Any motorcycle drivers out there who can chime in and correct me?

ChaosEngine said:

@bareboards2, where is he supposed to be speed up to? Into the back of the truck in front of him?

He was doing nothing wrong, and you're saying he should have acted differently.

And I said I wouldn't have expected that from you, because in general, I have a lot of respect for you and I believe you think things through.

I guess we'll agree to disagree in this case.

How High Can You Hear? [test]

Xaielao says...

12'960 @ 43. Which is good because I listened to very loud music in my youth (metal) and went to a tun of concerts in my 20's. These days my left ear is rarely not ringing and my right ear enjoys chiming in quite often to boot . I was a bit worried my result would be quite a bit lower.

I did have to use my PC speakers, my headset is old and failed to output anything over 7k hertz. I only use it for the mic these days though.

Britain Leaving the EU - For and Against, Good or Bad?

Dumdeedum says...

I'd chime in with knowledge but the fact is nobody in the UK really knows if it's a good idea or not, and the vast majority don't care. Sadly there's a really loud minority who won't shut up about the bloody thing.

In the end I'm fairly sure we'll stay in, but the turnout is going to be super-low so there's a bit of uncertainty.

Bernie Sanders-"I'm With Her"

Baristan jokingly says...

MSM:
This just in, photographs emerge proving Sanders chained up an African American woman 50 years ago. Clinton chimes in 'See not only is he racist, he is also sexist, and a danger to us all.' Thankfully brave police men risking their lives came to her rescue before Bernie could harm her. Was he planning to rape her? We may never know. More news ahead after a message from our sponsors.

oregon militia-stop sending us bags of dicks

poolcleaner says...

There was a clip of a news anchor chiming in that FedEx or UPS ships tons and tons of sex toys. I don't remember exactly what he claimed but I'm thinking he is correct and not just some old perv. Dildos just make for such a great gift, I suppose.

Hey uh but if you see anything on my Amazon wish list, maybe uh put it aside for me? Hah

tofucken-the vegan response to turducken

newtboy says...

Let me just chime in and tell you that you only came up with 1 retort, said in 8 different ways, and not one of them is an answer, it's all just saying 'what you said doesn't matter, because you don't get it', which I believe is not only wrong
(I think he does 'get it', he just disagrees) it also follows nearly all 8 of your 'fallacies'.
Animals are totally a moral beings, so have no 'moral importance'. I think you mean the immorality of treating animals poorly, but we will NEVER end the suffering of animals without eradicating all animals. Life is suffering.

EDIT: I'll leave you with one final thought...if we aren't supposed to eat animals, why are they all made out of meat?

All right, I'm probably feeding a troll, but since I'm starting an advocacy group I'm inevitably going to have to deal with a lot of them so here goes. Wish me luck.

I've heard this argument so many times. So many times. Almost as many times as I hear "how do vegans get enough protein"? (I'll stop asking you about your fiber intake and cholesterol if you stop asking me about my protein levels). So, in retort, I thought I'd appeal to logic. I went to ol' wikipedia to find all the fallacies that you are using. I thought I'd find 1, 2, or maybe 3. Instead I found 8. And I crossed off the ones that were true, but not necessarily in this specific argument:

I think the tide of militant veganism is changing. Not that there are fewer of them, but I think vegans are more self-aware now (some proof being in a lot of vegan videos about vegans). Every time I hear people complain about mouthy vegans, I hear many chime in to say that they aren't that way. But then again, hipsters claim they're not hipsters so that may not be a good gauge.

I, personally, don't even mention I'm vegan unless it comes up directly -- and even then I don't continue the conversation unless prodded. I also hope I keep a relatively cool head about it.

As for the religious aspect of it, can you blame them? Just like being indoctrinated with religion from birth, you're indoctrinated from birth to eat meat. And you are constantly socially pressured for your whole life to eat meat. It becomes one of the many pieces that you use to build your sense of self with. And when it's threatened, well, people do what they do with religion, food, politics, etc. They go fucking batshit.

Also, when you first become vegan, you almost always go through a period of ~1 - 3 years feeling like Neo coming out the the matrix and the rage is hard to hide. "How could they do this?!?! They're killing them all!!!" It takes a while to let that cool off and think of more productive ways to spread your views, the best way, I find, is just living the lifestyle peacefully. I like teaching by example.

There isn't anything wrong with vegan food, I love me some samosas and pani puri. I also fully respect anyone's choice to devote themselves fully to vegan-ism.

My only complaint is that vegans tend to go out of their way to make other people, who don't choose to follow the same lifestyle, feel bad for not following the same beliefs. Not all vegans do, but many take it to the same level as religious people, telling people who don't agree with their form of religion that they are going to hell.

That is what I will fight against, as I hate people telling me that if I don't do things the way they think they should be done, arbitrarily. Now making sure you eat animals that were treated humanely before slaughter, I can see that. But cutting them out entirely, based on the idea that someone else believes, not a chance in hell.

How to DMT

newtboy says...

Yes, my teenage years were irresponsible, and a main reason I often chime in to suggest at least having serious knowledge about what you're doing and safety precautions before going this route.

Yes, because it is different for different people, and even different for the same person dependent on their mindset when they take it, it's impossible to be totally 'safe' when taking it, even with full knowledge. You can't know for sure how it will react with you, or how you'll react to it until it's too late.

Making your own, if you're a decent chemist, at least gives you a good idea of WHAT you're taking, but without spectral analysis, you can't know the strength of the psychoactives for certain. Also, that probably leaves you open to more legal trouble for manufacturing a schedule 1 narcotic...more reason to not go in public and take it and get caught.

The fear is that, when someone is having a bad trip, they aren't likely to think straight enough to take something to counter act the effects...even if they're smart enough to have that handy. Unfortunately, a clinical setting is probably also not conducive to a great experience, so 'under a doctor's supervision' isn't really totally helpful or practical.

The quantum mechanics part can be understood, he seemed to have just miss-stated/miss-understood what the experiment was about in his wish to find some science that explains his experience, which may not be understandable.

I didn't love or hate the first episode. Found it a bit overly bloody and there was too much weird, unnecessary sex for my taste ... I'm no prude, but come on now I liked the second episode better, so it IS growing on me. The show appears to run well over an hour and my DVR seems to have cut both episodes short so far [I've extended the recording time even more]. I need to see if I can find them online to catch what I missed [hate it when that happens!]

The only season I couldn't watch was Asylum. Maybe I'll give it another try one day. Just couldn't get past the first two or three episodes.

Hey ... Wanted to congratulate you on your pathetic elevator chime hitting number one!!! I absolutely loved that one. I've worked at a hotel and stayed in many over the years, so it's a particular subject matter near and dear to my heart.

Enjoy the rest of whatever time of day/night it is for you iaui

Texas cop choke slams a 14 year old at high school

Lawdeedaw says...

Not to choose his side, ever, because I believe the cop is a brute with no discipline and he was definitely wrong, but it is hard to fire an officer when he acts within the confines of the law. Now 2 points--perhaps the law should not lean so much in their favor, and secondly people who know little of the law will chime in "blah blah I pretend to know the law blah blah." Perhaps there is something in his department's use of force matrix that could get him fired but I doubt it...

robbersdog49 said:

Black, white, whatever. That cop is way, way out of line. On what planet is this the way a grown adult acts, let alone one they give a fucking gun to and power of arrest?

This is bullshit. That cop needs fucking sacking. He's not able to control his temper when faced with a little schoolboy, he's a liability if he's ever needed for proper police work.
