I've always loved the 911 look and it's interesting to see what the differences are in the Carrera.

I just looked up the price on a 911 Carrera Coupe, and it's $A238,090... and even though the Cayman is cheaper, I don't anticipate ever being able to own one. Worse still, even if I did manage to scrape up the dineros, I'd never be able to drive it like that.

Which to me all boiled down to me wondering if she's really that silly as to disenfranchise what I see as the most feminist of professions, or are some people just portraying one out of context quote that way, because I know there was a smear campaign against her that made some things up about her, and had other actual factual gripes, and they confused everything.

The reason I 'cherry picked' ONLY that part of the comment was that I already knew the rest of it from seeing evidence of it, her being a fraudster and con artist. I needed no convincing of that, and it had no bearing on the other point, which was new to me.
That's why I never disputed those other claims, so I don't feel I need to explain why they aren't implying all you said, and why evidence of them misses my focused question's point.

The reason you've barely heard about Sarkeesian is because - until recently - she was just another starving artist youtube personality.

When I first stumbled across her Feminist Frequency videos, I too was duped by her ostensibly critical analysis of female tropes in pop culture media.

So for the uninitiated - Stephen Colbert, Mercedes Carrera, yourself - Sarkeesian seems like:

"Wow, the next generation of Women's Rights Advocates is fierce."

But just like any other ego-tripping prestige hound, the flaws in her arguments began to bubble up.

Other youtubers - commenters & personalities alike - started calling her on her bullshit.

In response, she disabled the comments on all of her videos.

That was just the start of a series of shitbag tactics to cover up her bullshit.

Why? Because it negates the notion that rape is always a function of class and privilege (i.e., white affluent men raping poor minority females) and never not. I just looked over his list of films again and suddenly realised that he's probably made some of the most defining films of my life, how the hell can you argue with these puppies:

Terminator 1 and 2. Terminator 2? That film just literally ruled most of the 90's for quotes and praise. Still popular today.
Aliens. Need i say more? This film is the DEFINITION of action and suspense to me.
The Abyss. My dad (my hero at that age) built it up for months to me as a kid, finally saw it and fell in love. Beautiful film.
True Lies. Probably my favourite arnie film. I was obsessed with arnie and action and spies and detectives at that age. Tom Arnold was amazing. Ages well. Oh and Tia Carrera.
Titanic. HUGE film. I'd never felt the phenomenon of a film becoming an instant world-wide hit before. I don't think one day went by in 1997 where i didn't hear titanic mentioned on tv.

Pretty amazing! Only rival for success rate for me is christopher nolan.
