To each his own? Anyway, I'm guessing you either saw it a long time ago, weren't paying attention, or were too young to get the point. There's a good bit of drama and suspense, and although it's not the happiest film ever, it's very well done.

I had this really snarky comment all planned out and then the guy in the rabbit suit with the vaguely Norm-MacDonald-imitating-Burt-Reynolds inflections won me over.

You have to admit, Burt Reynolds has had a fun life.
