Mandela Effect | Braces MISSING From Dolly in Moonraker 1979

TheFreak says...

I remember Dolly having braces and not having braces. I remember the Berenstein bears and the Berenstain bears. I remember the FBI agents in E.T. having guns and I remember them holding radios. I remember the sky blazing away and the mountains melting and all life turning to ash as the sun expanded and consumed the earth. I remember the great obelisk in the sky...and not in the sky...as the seas boiled and did not.

I am not pan-dimensional.
I am not omni-universal.
I am not immortal.
I am inevitable.

Or really, really not paying close attention to my surroundings. Whatever.

Samantha Bee on Orlando - Again? Again.

Mordhaus says...

We have always been a gun violence culture up until the post WW2 era. Think frontier, wild west, duels, and mafia shootouts. We glorify violence everyday, we even give sickos who shoot up groups of people mass media coverage. For a person who wants to go out in a blaze of infamy, we are custom tailored to give them their last 15 minutes of 'fame'.

Again, we have a nebulous definition of what it takes to get on the watch list. I could be placed on it simply by stating something to the effect that "I support ISIS", even though I don't. Restricting people who manage to end up on a government list is the same as removing their right to a firearm after committing a felony offense, only you have removed every single bit of their right to a legal defense. There is no due process to being placed on a US watchlist, you get put on and fuck you if it was a mistake. Maybe they'll take you off later, who knows?

I am not going to defend a slippery slope argument on this, I don't have to. It's already happened in the years since 2001. The Patriot Act, meant to be a well intended set of rules to help us protect ourselves, has been perverted to lessen quite a few of our rights. Not only our rights, but other countries. We have violated their security, spied on their people and leaders, and we perform acts of war on their territories with impugnity. All because we lost two buildings and 2,996 people; a heinous act, but one our government exploited to put us into 2 wars with a death toll to people who may not even be our enemies that dwarf our loss. In short, we fucking have the slippery slope process down to a SCIENCE.

The idea of US being a gun violence culture just makes no sense to me. A gun ownership culture among a subset of the population sure, but a culture of resolving conflict with violence? No, it's a product of gun availability. The numbers ChaosEngine quoted on guns / 100 people really is the unique differentiator that makes murder rates some 5-20x the developed country average.

Poverty leading to crime, poor mental health treatment are the tinder but the easy access to weapons is what leads to the death tolls to combust incomparable to any other developed country. Also if legislators can't pass gun control after Sandy Hook, or even restrict people on or previously on the terrorist watch-list from buying guns then the idea of any kind of slippery slope is farcical.

Whales. Also, dicks.

Mouse Outwits Cat...Or Does He?

StukaFox says...

Dude, after that, the mouse HELLA blazed that spliff and the cat got a total contact high -- just like in the 1946 Academy Award winning short, "Tom and Jerry meet Da Chronic" in which Jerry, voiced by Tom Waits, finds Tom's sack of dank and bogarts the lot. It's a great cartoon -- teaches kids the importance of puff-puff-pass and not to ever trust anthropomorphic mice with your weed.

Any other questions?

Man Shot Dead In Drunken Militia Dispute

bremnet says...

Open carry is the straw that breaks the bouncers' backs? Um, no. It's not suddenly Blazing Saddles here. If you're licensed to carry, most have enough common sense NOT to carry openly in our bars because drunks are temporarily or permanently dumb. The bouncers still fear the nut-jobs with knives, brass knuckles, and ice picks tucked into their boot - it's not about the weapon, it's about the person holding it. Once the mentally challenged get into the parking lot, all bets are off and whatever can be used as a weapon often is. Bat, chain, antenna, canoe paddle, road flare etc.

00Scud00 said:

We lecture people endlessly about how stupid it is to drink and drive, but loaded firearms? Sure, what could possibly go wrong?
When they started allowing open carry in bars in Texas I wonder how many bouncers just quit, right there and then.

pundits refuse to call oregon militia terrorists

VoodooV says...

Sadly, it really doesn't matter what they call them, because the term terrorist has become meaningless. I've said this all the way back when GWB "declared war on vague abstract concept"

The definition stated earlier is not wrong, but you can use that term for just about anything. Americans were terrorists against the British when we revolted. We also had the audacity to not march shoulder to shoulder against the Brits as was the standard for every "civilized" army back then.

The only difference is who wins and who loses. if you win, you're a revolutionary. if you lose, you're a terrorist. and if you're white, you're a militia group.

This was a calculated move by the terrorists though. I think they deliberately picked some piece of shit building of no value that no one cared about and was unused, made sure they didn't kill anyone but yet still forcibly occupied it with weapons. It's a dare...it's an attempt to goad. They want the feds or police to go in guns blazing. They want suicide by cop because it will ultimately benefit them and gain sympathy for them. They took something that is completely inconsequential other than it was owned by "the gub'mint"

The Fox pundit thinks they're peaceful? armed occupation is peaceful now? Just because they haven't physically hurt anyone doesn't make them peaceful. They stopped being peaceful the instant they picked up their weapons.

Love all the usual buzzwords and sound bites from the fox pundit without any actual specifics. Once again, who specifically is this "left wing media?" They never actually say who. more accusations of "big gov't" without any specifics. They keep talking about these intrusions into our lives, but yet, can't seem to name them.

All fear, no concrete issues. Standard geriatric (that means old, bob) Fox audience.

Guns with History

Mordhaus says...

You have heard of constitutional amendments, haven't you? In fact, one of the quotes I produced from former Mayor, Ed Koch, even discussed that fact.

Please explain which FACTS that I have repeated are incorrect. So far all you have been able to do is curse me, accuse me of being retarded, and literally ignored anything I have said so that you can continue with your vitriol. I don't even know you and you seem to have a major issue with me.

The reason why I put up the list of deaths is because you don't see knee jerk actions in the news over those methods of dying, typically. You do see it over gun deaths because they are sensationalized far beyond the level of anything else, part of which is the reason I think we are having more mass shootings. If you want to go out in a blaze of glory, get your 15 minutes of fame, then shooting people is a guaranteed method.

I do believe we need additional controls on weapons; one that I think would help greatly is ACS (http://www.ammocoding.com/). I am also not an NRA member and don't agree with a lot of the methods they use. I DO believe wholeheartedly in my right to own semi automatic handguns and rifles. If you still have a problem with me over that, I can't help it. But if you continue to be confrontational, then I don't think we have anything further to talk about.

Fail Forward : Deus Ex - Human Revolution

00Scud00 says...

Interesting talk, but I think he puts way too much stock in the idea that going in guns (or rats) blazing is always the more satisfying approach. Back in the old days of Thief many people prided themselves on ghosting through levels and leaving as little evidence of their passing as possible.
I tend to stealth my way through most games were stealth is a viable option and I have never felt cheated because I didn't use some of the more action oriented systems. In Deus Ex I don't think I ever bothered with that social enhancer augment.

Adam Jensen's "I didn't ask for this" attitude actually seems pretty reasonable to me, what little of his life we saw before his accident seemed pretty happy and he didn't seem like the type to sit around thinking "If only I had a cool cyborg body". This seems more like the player is projecting their own insecurities.

And I could easily see a future where prosthetic limbs were more than just for rich people. Technology advances and becomes cheaper, cellphones used to be carried by rich assholes on Wallstreet, now every asshole has one. And not every prosthetic is going to turn you into Superman either, all a cybernetic leg needs to do is allow you to walk and run like a person with a normal leg, leaping tall buildings with a single bound is not a required feature. So most of those repressed cyber citizens are probably not sporting mil-spec hardware.

If you don't me on this site then why don't you leave? Is this a Liberal only site ( well is sorta is )? You want some one else to carry your water in this matter? If you if you don't like me then don't respond to me.

Liberalism is open minded unless you disagree with them then they will turn on you with knifes blazing.

I live in America and stand for the Constitution. Every American should.

Democrats stand for murder, perversion and debauchery.
Republican are not far behind and also corrupt. They are just democrat light.

Democrats denounced GOD at their last election party platform. So much for being tolerant.

If I were a Liberal / Democrat I would be ashamed. But Democrats and Liberals have no shame .

If you insist on and/or only have the ability of simply making nothing more than poorly worded, poorly spelled, poorly thought out, unimaginative, ad-hom insults, I'll just report you and have you removed rather than ignore you. Others shouldn't have to suffer your infantile actions, and your behavior is specifically disallowed in the site rules, and the clear 'punishment' is permanent removal from the site. Is that what you're looking for?

Grow up NOW...this is your final warning from me on this topic. I won't suffer aggressive insulting fools any longer.

Your self contradictory post content was not worth replying to, so little actual thought there, and even less fact. I'll just let you stay wrong.

If 'Rudolph' Took Place Today

Mordhaus says...

Did you even watch the original Rudolph? Santa didn't use the word freaks, but he did say the nose would keep him off the sleigh team. Later when Rudolph was doing amazing in the games, his nose fell off, and Santa was a jerk again.

That said, the whole point of this video is that today we could never have the 'classic' show. Just like we will never see a remake of Blazing Saddles, because people are too ready to jump on the internet criticism bandwagon.

Magicpants said:

It's kind of interesting in that it seems like the creator A) doesn't think it should be a big deal if Santa says "Can't have any freaks on the sleigh team" and B) Imagines Santa would say, let alone think, that in the first place.
