Olsen Twins Being Adorably Racist
@ant, they toss fried chicken into his case. Here is some info from Wikipedia on fried chicken and it's relationship to African American stereotypes.
Since the American Civil War, traditional slave foods like fried chicken, watermelon, and chitterlings have suffered a strong association with African American stereotypes and blackface minstrelsy. This was commercialized for the first half of the 20th century by restaurants like Sambo's and Coon Chicken Inn, which selected exaggerated depictions of blacks as mascots, implying quality by their association with the stereotype. Although also being acknowledged positively as soul food today, the affinity that African American culture has for fried chicken has been considered a delicate, often pejorative issue. While the perception of fried chicken as an ethnic dish has been fading for several decades, what with the ubiquity of fried chicken dishes in the US, it persists as a racial stereotype.
This is Who Elmer Fudd replaced due to Stereotyping charac
The blackface-like coloring probably ought to count, too, but I was more surprised by how little racism/stereotyping was present. In many ways, this guy is just like Fudd, only darker.
I'd be interested to hear opinions of any black sifters, in particular.

Other then the spontaneous dice game.. I really don't see a problem with any of it.
Is this cartoon supposed to be more appalling than the actual racism and violence taking place at the time?

I dunno about this Lucky - I considered posting this as well.
This vid was produced by Nas, in response to how hip-hop went from empowerment to ridiculously stereotypical silliness. He recruited Nick Cannon and (I believe) Affion Crockett to don blackface and perform as Shuck & Jive.
This particular embed doesn't have the explanatory message (voiced by Nas) that the original vid did (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PgRAgJI7aoc), and out of context this vid would seem to be totally racist. It is, however, a commentary about the degree to which *hiphop has lowered itself, and the extent to which 'artists' are whoring themselves out to corporate 'slave masters' in the name of money & fame.

that's what I thought at first, too. so, the Japanese copied a style that was of whites mimicking/mocking blacks, and now the British are copying the Japanese. it's a whole cycle of 'wtf'

Max Skate bikers pwn skateboard police with Michael Jackson
>> ^budzos:
This is one of those products created entirely by the marketing department. What the fuck was that stupid little walk Jackson did at the start?
What was up with the cops radar gun being a remote control.. and the the cop having blackface. And then the blackface being gone as the entire station decides to get on a skateboard and chase after them.. and then the next shot they appear to be to be skating away from a hangar, and then
one of them decides instead of doing an ollie, or stepping off the skateboard, he flies through a pane of glass... and then his face is covered in garbage.
And then Michael Jackson appears out of nowhere.
and then they break through a brick wall on a little bike thing.
Hell, they don't even stay on the bike, the first guy through fell off right away, and the second guy is flipping over.
..and not to mention the group of kids being led around by a NUN at the beginning.
The little walk by Michael Jackson is definitely not the biggest issue this commercial has IMO

72 virgins - it's just not quite as great as you'd expect!

Please do not post videos that make fun of other races. Because of the high volume of traffic on the site, it would be very easy to offend a good deal of people with material like this. If you think the material is questionable, it's probably not going to pass our standards.
This is also very ignorant on the whole myth of 72 virgins. Yeah I know it's just a comedian... If you're going to whip that out, I got some blackface videos I've been meaning to post.
This has absolutely NOTHING to do with race. It's about what some people CHOOSE to believe.

I put Muslim funadmentalist in quote marks because they are clearly not true Muslims if they take those beliefs.
You can find plenty of quotes in the Koran both for and against what they believe. That's inevitable in such a self-contradictory work. Different sects just cherry-pick differently, but it's all there in the Koran.

The Goodies 1st opening theme
There were certainly some episodes which pushed the boundaries. The one where they travel to South Africa springs to mind. But the episode was actually very anti-apartheid, the fact they wore 'blackface' at some points during the episode was accepted at the time, but would be well and truly out of bounds today.
