If they were paid little and/or forced to work long shifts so they're facing this while tired enough not to think/care, then I blame the company and, by association, the system. If they were well trained and had no genuine excuse (rather than reason) for their behaviour then I blame them.

Alameda County just suspended and removed guns from near 10% of its police force for failing psychological exams. Some of these officers had been actively policing for 6 or more years since failing the required exams, in violation of state law, because the sherif took the bad legal advice from “California Commission of Police Standards and Training” that once told him it might be legal to hire people who fail the psych test (not that it was acceptable) and they ran with that incorrect advice.

You have to be a real serious dangerous idiot to fail these psych tests. They aren’t hard.

Worse, the 47 dangerous and unqualified officers put on desk duty will still get full pay and benefits as police despite being totally unqualified and legally barred from holding the job.

Direct cremation at the cheapest $1000-2000 from what i can tell. My googling showed a cost of between $3000-7000 for this service. Personally i think any money spent on getting rid of my body, is wasted money. Put me in a dumpster and take me to the landfill. Also i don't have family that get all weird about death and funerals, etc. so that potential feel good benefit for the living would not be a thing

I'm guessing there is a nice profit to be made for companies that provide such a service, and probably enough people who would feel better having the deceased in their life done away with in this way. Collateral damage is a fact of war, but IMO intentional collateral damage is a war crime. That would include intentional gross negligence, not making any effort to avoid it, randomly firing at civilians, indiscriminate bombing of civilian areas, etc. even if they’re being used as human shields.

Today MAGA decided to block a veterans suicide hotline by flooding it with calls demanding Jan 6 convicts be released and any that are vets should have their benefits reinstated (insurrectionists that tried to overthrow the government lost their government benefits).
Over 20 vets commit suicide daily. Dozens or more are saved by the VA suicide hotline daily. MAGA was more than happy to see those veterans die for this ill conceived defense of treason.
