What you need is a Bernie style democratic socialist. People will come together for it. It happened in the UK, it'll happen there too. The fact that the spousal abuse rate for cops is up to 15 times higher than among the general public is just the tip of the iceberg. Wives of cops who are beaten and abused have to deal with the fact that their abuser is armed with a gun. Their abuser knows the location of battered women's shelters, and knows how to manipulate the system to avoid penalty and or shift blame to the victim.

In a way they have it worse then the occasional citizen who finds them self dealing a jackbooted thug with a badge. A citizen if left alive doesn't have to go home and live with an abuser.

I didn't know they put rubber wheels on longboards. I'm fairly certain the last time I owned a longboard (long time ago), it had standard polyurethane wheels skateboard wheels. Of course, the whole point then was to just go as dangerously fast down hills as possible, so you'd probably want harder wheels. Everyone I used to longboard with ended up in the emergency room at some point, lots of broken bones. They were all beaten by it in the end. I just decided it was crazy and stopped. Bombing hills in the city was asking to die, and though enjoyable, it just wasn't a practical enough means of pure transportation. I wonder if I still have my boards somewhere...

I grew up in Texas where gays were beaten on sight, civil rights workers would go missing and that fact publicly cheered (slightly before my time), and many women are still expected to be totally subservient. Maybe not exactly your examples, but close enough for me to make my point.

Any other person would be tazed, beaten, thrown to the ground, and charged with resisting and assaulting an officer.
Officers should not be allowed to refuse field sobriety tests, breathalyzers, or blood tests whenever there's the hint they may be impaired. It's a real public safety issue.
Even though they did arrest him (they had zero choice), this was just 20 minutes of handling a fellow officer with serious kid gloves. He needs to go to jail.

Except, oops, there was no gun, and there was no threat, just a peaceful protester getting the shit beaten out of him by the crowd.
That said, had there been an actual threat, his just standing there dumbfounded would have given them plenty of time to steady, aim, and fire. Maybe next time.

Playing meek does not protect you from any abuse you've mentioned, including being shot to death. It doesn't keep one from being arrested, beaten, humiliated, having false charges levied, etc. It only perpetuates the idea that the police are 'just doing their job's' when they abuse citizens. Fight back. This guy played meek until an asshat illegally grabbed his phone, then attacked him, and remained meek afterwards. He could have destroyed that cop if he fought back....but would have probably been shot if he had exercised his right to self defense.

If you are black and armed and you get stopped, shoot first. Being armed is now considered a legitimate reason for police to kill you. You don't have to be threatening, pointing that gun, or doing anything wrong at all, just having it is 'reason' enough for them to shoot you dead today. Prison is better than dead, imo.

Cops have squandered the good will and trust granted them by the public. They no longer get the benefit of a doubt.

It's 25 times more likely a cop will murder you than the odds you might murder them, they are all armed and dangerous, and turnabout is fair play. In my opinion, citizens have more right to shoot cops in self defence than vice versa.

We're morally superior to them because we do it in an abattoir and have a modern drainage system. God we're so civilised.

If only right wingers gave half as much of a shit about innocent kids getting bombed/killed/raped in Aleppo and elsewhere as they do about animal sacrifice when it's done by a Muslim.
