Odd....I've now seen footage of the event, and the mass exodus DURING Trump's speech. It seems you are a minority even amongst Trumpists if you think it was even bearable. They were leaving in droves, disillusioned and disappointed.

No mention of import tariffs and border walls - easily the dumbest Trump presidential ideas from an economic viewpoint.
The tax cut for the rich is in the same league, but I dont think he promised that, he snuck it in under the radar mostly.

Most of the other "failures" are just nonsense claims or the POTUS has no power over them, it was just stupid to make such claims. Or maybe it was clever in an evil way.

Regarding population control I lay a lot of hope on self driving cars - if they become intelligent enough to actually drive in traffic they might realize at that point that if they kill 9/10ths of the population the traffic will become much more bearable and easier to navigate.

Its basically all in the video, there are physical barriers already out there, it is a long term problem that has been improving lately, there is probably not much more protection a big wall would provide over a symbolic fence (only effect is length of tunnel/ladder required). Everyone agrees on illegal vs. legal, prostitution and drugs can not be eradicated, only limited, by making the little girls illegal you push them in peril. One could improve the situation by cooperating with the government of Mexico and border states, border towns, by making the legal waiting line clear and bearable, Trump is the elephant in the porcelain shop on all of this, making things worse.

Simple solutions to complicated problems... never mind.

Why are the rules for employing illegal imigrants so hard to uphold? Could it be because it is impossible? Because no-one else would be willing to do the work for the money available in the local economy? How would the overall situation change if rules on "legalising" some of these people were relaxed instead of tightened? If they can hold a job for months or years without commiting any law violations besides going past the validity of their work permit they deserve at the very least permanent residence over all the trash living on social security just because they were born a few miles north.

If they are living and working and not doing any wrong, you should keep them regardless of... whatever.

If I really wanted to move to the US I would make absolutely sure I had a plan on what to do there. Not just get in at all costs. Like the Budweiser guy (but better beer).

What sucks ass is that because so many people DO abuse pain killers, it's becoming harder and harder to find a doctor that will prescribe them when they're needed and are the proper treatment out of a fear of being labeled a drug dealer.
My long term doctor just retired. I've been on heavy pain medications for over a decade for chronic back pain, and I have never abused them. The office has told me they have other doctors to take over his patients (lucky me, we have a severe doctor shortage here), but that they will NOT prescribe pain medication. This leaves me in a position where I've tried almost every non-medicinal treatment (PT, acupressure, acupuncture, chiropractors, heat, cold, etc) to no effect and I'm about to be deprived of the one treatment that works to make life bearable for me because other people abuse it.
It's like they are TRYING to force me (and others) to move to the black market and take more dangerous street drugs because some people do that after taking prescriptions.
That sucks ass.

Side note, I'm also a legal medical marijuana patient. That may have something to do with my not ever abusing my medications.

Instead of agreeing that certain things are wrong and need to be changed, we argue about who got it worst. Instead of acknowledging that we have a lot work to do until we become the nice people Gene Roddenberry's Star Trek wants us to be, we fight about shitty details. We'd rather point fingers than making a change from within ourselves.
Any change for the better in any society comes from within. It's a painfully slow process and it requires more patience and blood than humanly bearable. We, as a society, need to suffer greatly before we learn our painful lesson. We always pay a price much too high. We pay in human suffering. We pay in blood. All the time.
What doesn't help is antagonizing each other. Apparently, we can't help it.

I've been high a lot of places, but never have i been high in church. It probably would have made it more bearable though.

I'm actually enjoying a semi-real winter out here in Michigan. Couple days of 40s-50s, but mostly 20s and low 30s. Very bearable and pretty snow.

But yeah, when it gets hot, I hide in my basement and complain when it's 85 or higher.

And I'd rather drink a Stellas Artois or a Hoegaarden than a PBR, any day. But, I'll admit, if I want some cheap swill, PBR is bearable.

Yes she can work in her work place. Yes she can repect the god that she worships. What she CANNOT do is impose her bronze age mythical beliefs on other people, especially children.
