Blink-182 New Video made in these Quarantined times

eric3579 says...

Not a huge fan of the song, but was moved by the video.

Anyone know who any of these people are outside the band members? Wasn't sure if they are just random peeps or people they know or...?

Ladies.. here is why 99% of Guys don't approach you..

newtboy says...

Sorry, but I disagree.

Touching a shoulder or hand can be enough to be accused of abuse.
Shit, just look at Shawn White, who was in a band with friends, and is now accused of sexual harassment for telling bandmates how he wants them to dress on stage, like most band leaders do, and for "making" her (and other friends) watch 2 girls 1 cup, like most teenagers/immature people did....publicly accused after settling with the band member who complained long after the fact and who accepted a settlement to drop it.
If that's sexual harassment, every man is guilty....as is every woman. Your parents are monsters, they actually forced you to wear what they said. Context is irrelevant.

Yes, today, asking a co-worker out and nothing more can and has led to harassment accusations and removal from their job....Jeffrey Tambor today, and he's never even heard what the accusations against him are or who made them, but he's already fired and his show, transparent, is certainly cancelled.

It's not that the whole world paints all men as rapists, it's that when any one person does paint any man (except Trump) as an abuser, the whole world seems to back them up without investigation or evidence. That's a problem, and is terrifying to many single men.

And women wonder why sexbots are becoming more popular daily, it's because to many men, their precious fairy vaginas aren't worth the risk of permanent scarlet lettering when there's a safe alternative. I just hope this has the positive effect of slowing population growth.

It's not about doing something that one thinks might lead to accusations, it's that any interactions can, and there's no recourse at all if you're accused, you're considered guilty off the bat.

I'm usually more worried that I am going to be rejected by somebody I have to, you know, see again on Monday morning. I kinda feel that If you are genuinely concerned that asking somebody out could be seen as sexual harassment...then you might be doing it wrong. Yeah, I think it is unfair and sexist that men are expected to the ones to initiate (unfair on both sexes actually...), but let's not go overstate things and pretend that our difficulties finding a partner is because the world wants to paint us all as rapists.

The Best of James Randi

ulysses1904 says...

If you can find it check out the book about an Alice Cooper 1973 tour called "Billion Dollar Baby". James Randi was part of the tour as he designed the guillotine and gallows the band used. He's quite the character in the book.

That book is also interesting because it was written by Bob Greene, who became infamous for his own reasons. And the Cooper band members resented him for writing what they felt was a trashy skewed version of his time with them on that tour.

BABYMETAL ... Their U.S. Television Debut

Louis CK Probably won't be Invited back to SNL after this

poolcleaner says...

Mild racism: Watching the two black band members react to Louis' jokes. How will they take the jokes?

Mild racism: Watching Age of Ultron and exclaiming, "Everyone has a black superhero friend!"

Captain America <3 Falcon

Ironman <3 War Machine

Thor <3 Heimdall

Black Widow <3 Black Nick Fury

Hulk is black Bruce Banner

Daredevil <3 the Night Nurse

Jessica Jones <3 Luke Cage

Need i get into the black on Asian, black on white, Hyde on Asian action going on in Agents of SHIELD -- you're an inhuman happa hacker that fires earthquakes out of your fingers, welcome to the future.

Yeah, mild racism!! Eventually it's all meaningless because no one cares. Don't need to be getting all Ulysses Klaw on no Wakandan kings or nuthin'.

Monday's Mona Lisa "Katy Perry"

Cassie1123 says...

Hello all,
I've just been alerted to this thread through the a few fans of this band. Maybe I can shed some light on what seems to have happened. First of all, I co-manage this band and NO, I will not be posting any videos, because obviously that would be a violation of this websites rules. Understood, they're trying to keep this an entirely "spam free zone" and not used for any type of promotional tool.
That being said, I also understand why KellyMML posted the video here. KellyMML has not "lied" or tried to spam anyone in anyway, NOR did she post this video for some type of self promotion, as Kelly is NOT a band member nor is she a paid employee in any way shape or form. She IS however a street team leader, but is not paid, given any types of gifts or holds any kind of "rank" within the management company.
Kelly was one of the artists earliest fans, and through her own enjoyment and wanting to be a part of their growth, as taken to sharing their work online through out the world, and I must say has done an incredible job of it.

I completely understand the views that the site owners take on spam, and not wanting VideoSift to become some annoying sounding board of musicians/comedians/actors and up-and-comers posting constantly about their "not yet anything" dreams. I get it. There are plenty of websites out there that allow this and I myself have become irritated at having to scroll through trash to see something good lol.

After some digging, I was able to contact Kelly myself and figure out why this may have happened. Kelly informed me that when she email the website to find out how to put a video up, they replied to her with instructions AND the rules. Still confused, I asked her to forward me that email.
I immediately saw where the confusion begin.
Kelly worded her email as if she WERE either a bandmember, or in the very least someone who works for them. This isn't the case, but it's noticeable by reading her inquiry why it looked that way.
After she read the rules, she posted the video. I'm guessing that because she used those terms when she first contacted VideoSift, they assumed (understandably so) that "we and our" meant this was some type of self promotion.
Since I've been notified of this issue, Kelly has been instructed that while she is more than welcome to run a street team for MML and we appreciate her spreading the word, to please not refer to herself, or any of her posts/shares/activities as if she were connected with the band either AS a member, or as an employee of management, and to also identify herself as a fan. She is also welcomed to explain that she runs her own street team but is not employed by or managed by anyone on their professional team.

Hope this clears some things up. Feel free to contact me at cassie at mondaysmonalisa dot com if you need any other information. We would like to dispell any negativity affiliated with Monday's Mona Lisa.
Thank you!

OK GO - I Won´t Let You Down

LiquidDrift says...

Come on guys, this thing has CG all over it! Look at the compositing at 0:50 when they are coming out of the building - they are floating all over the place in movements that don't match the camera. The dancers are obviously sped up many times while the band members are not. The clouds at the end come in awfully conveniently when the camera pans upward. Etc.

According to Rolling Stone, it was stitched together from 44 takes, so that might account for all of that. I'm a bit skeptical that the umbrella animations at the end weren't completely CG, but we'll see for sure if they release a behind-the-scenes.

Monday's Mona Lisa "Katy Perry"

lucky760 says...

If I can speak frankly, you're talking out of your ass. You're inventing facts out of thin air and doing so with pretty intense, unjustifiable fervor.

The submitter of this video has a 100% absolute link to the band. (Being "linked" to the band does not imply the submitter is a band member.)

andyboynash said:

kellymml is one of their fans. This is not a person that's in the band. Why was this banned if it was posted by a fan? If you would actually go to their site, you would clearly see that there is nobody in the band named kelly. And if you would take the time to go to their facebook, there is a fan named kellymml. but it looks like you are too quick to jump to some kind of conclusion than actually go do some verification. Sad.

Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros - I Don't Wanna Pray

RFlagg says...

@eric3579 and any others:

I think the lyrics of what the band members sing are improvised on the spot. The official lyrics are at http://songmeanings.com/songs/view/3530822107859433424/ and lots of the stuff I can make out are clearly not in that version, though it matches the video in my one comment, save the improvised bit the one band member does.

So my best guess based on listening to it many times (time stamps of improvised bits in {}):

I love my god, god made love
I love my god, god made love
I love my god, god made good
I love my god, god made hate
I love my god, god made bad
I love my god, god made me

I don't wanna pray to my maker
[whoa]I just wanna be what I see
Not just who I am, but the pink in golden land
And that wide wild sky over me
Help me to the sun, hey I'm looking everywhere

Pardon god and mom, if what I'm sayin' isn't fair
Hey I'm looking to become, not the prayer but the prayer
And now I don't want to pray
[No] I say I don't wanna pray
[No] I don't wanna pray
Who don't wanna pray

(but still)
I love my god, god made love
I love my god, god made love
I love my god, god made good
I love my god, god made hate
I love my god, god made bad
I love my god, god made me

(but still)
I don't wanna pray to my maker
[No] I just wanna be feelin' free
Not like in a book, or the leaves of trees that shook
From a word that means only not a thing

Pardon god and mom, if what I'm sayin' isn't fair
Hey I'm looking to become, not the prayer but the prayer
And now I don't want to pray
[No] I say I don't wanna pray
[No] I don't wanna pray
Who don't wanna pray

{2:21}(alright Seth)
God ain't some man way high above me
[No] I think god is in the earth and in the land
I love by what I do
So for me I think that its true
That's its hard to worship when I'm on my knees

Pardon god and mom, if what I'm sayin' isn't fair
Hey I'm looking to become, not the prayer but the prayer
And now I don't want to pray
[No] I say I don't wanna pray
[No] I don't wanna pray
Who don't wanna pray

{3:04}(Christian)
When I was a boy my daddy made me
[Whoa] Read a story to him every night
Took me 'till it hurt, that stupid shirt shit don't work
[garbled] tell me to try

Pardon god and mom, if what I'm sayin' isn't fair
Hey I'm looking to become, not the prayer but the prayer
And now I don't want to pray
[No] I say I don't wanna pray
[No] I don't wanna pray
Who don't wanna pray

{3:48}(now Sash(?))
I don't wanna pray to my maker
[No] [Don't let me be a servant?] won't you please
Not like greasy crook or those thevin smiley looks
I just want to be of helpin' if you need

Pardon god and mom, if what I'm sayin' isn't fair
Hey I'm looking to become, not the prayer but the prayer
And now I don't want to pray
[No] I say I don't wanna pray
[No] I don't wanna pray
Who don't wanna pray

{4:35}Now I've seen her in the shadow
I have seen her in the tree
I don't even need to get down on my knees
[garbled followed by laugh]

Pardon god and mom, if what I'm sayin' isn't fair
Hey I'm looking to become, not the prayer but the prayer
And now I don't want to pray
[No] I say I don't wanna pray
[No] I don't wanna pray
Who don't wanna pray

{5:20 slight improv of the normal lines}Well it's alright to talk, long as you are walkin'
And it's alright to take, long as you give
But some say we forgiven and forgotten of our sins
Either way I know for sure, that we all will live again

Pardon god and mom, if what I'm sayin' isn't fair
Hey I'm looking to become, not the prayer but the prayer
And now I don't want to pray
[No] I say I don't wanna pray
[No] I don't wanna pray
Who don't wanna pray

(but still)
I love my god, god made love
I love my god, god made love
I love my god, god made good
I love my god, god made hate
I love my god, god made bad
I love my god, god made me

It's perhaps doesn't have the best audio of the song, but I liked the participation by lots of the band members adding their own verses to the song.

For those who want a clean audio version there's this (which the iframe didn't work to embed in the comment):

Amazing voice London Grammar - Full Performance Live on KEXP

blackoreb says...

The video title confused me initially, but apparently the band's name is "London Grammar" and the band members are named Hannah Reid, Dan Rothman and Dominic 'Dot' Major.

I had the BIGGEST crush on CW back in the day ... such an interestingly aloof looking character. [I've found that drummers and bass players are the oddest band members as a rule]

Faeries Wear Boots - Black Sabbath Live - 1970

wormwood says...

Geezer Butler states in the documentary film "Classic Albums: Black Sabbath's Paranoid" that this song was inspired by an encounter with skinheads, who the band members then derogatorily referred to as "fairies" for the song.
