Really?

I mean really?

You think this is going to be of some benefit to you, or help some sort of political argument you're trying to make?

Unbelievable.

Oh, don't be angry, snookums. You know it was all in good fun. I didn't mean to aggravate the cognitive dissonance that has settled in your mind so thickly like years of dust settling in an untouched attic.

Thanks for playing! That's one for liberty. Zero for fascist Democracy.

Liar.

it's not a right winger writing down what he/she thinks a left winger wants. This was written by someone on the left, and it's not a joke I'm playing. I seriously want to know what people think of this document, and whether or not they agree it would be an improvement. NR, you've had a lot of great insight in PMs, and maybe you'd like to share those?

Liar, on both counts of "written by someone on the left" and "not a joke".

Incidentally, the word fraud means: an intentional deception made for personal gain or to damage another individual

You are one, apparently.

I figured you were pulling a stunt originally, but after talking with you in PM's, I figured I'd trust that you were being straight up like you claimed, and then spent an hour giving this some real consideration, and posted my opinion.

Fuck you, jackass.

I hear they had guns at the revolution. Some were even armed in the presence of the (what would soon be) president gasp . Wake me up when some real news is on, I got some zombie hordes to decimate. You will wish you had guns when the undead try and eat your man flesh. Freedoms don't have to be rational. If I want to have a gun to feel safer even though it most likely doesn't then I should. If I want a gun just because I like the idea of having something powerful, then I should. Hundreds of thousands of guns sit in dust filled attics and closets not harming anyone. And when you say "when you have a civil society that enjoys its freedoms", it is in violation of that essence that you would seek the remove that right. Once again, freedoms don't have to exist in rational form. I like silly fart jokes and some of my friends like dipping french fries in soft serve ice cream (LUNACY I SAY!) But it isn't the freedom that needs renationalisation, and thus I think arguing from that perspective is moot. I don't say that to be a dick or contrary, I just think that misses the point. Liberty first, as Ben Franklin would say (that and electricity hurts!).

/agreed

On a side note BK fries dipped in a Wendy's chocolate frosty are awesome! It's like getting a bite of cone in every serving. :-)

Earthships and the Garbage Warrior

curiousity says...

Glad I could help. Efficient and self-sustaining design is one of my interests. I spend a little bit of free time at work wandering around the internet looking for interesting ideas and advancements.

Sounds like you are more concerned about keeping heat in than keeping the house cool at the moment. Can I assume you are in a northern region?

I think most people recommend adding wall insulation, insulation to the roof/attic, and updating the windows as the good steps to increase the R value of your old house.

lol... I reread you post. Floor to ceiling windows. If those windows get a good amount of sunlight, you might look into eutectic salt chambers (more information at David Allan's website.) That would help retain heat as it released it during fusion as your house gets colder at night.

I'm also toying with the idea of combining a eutectic salt chamber with a radial dish and fiber optics to heat rooms without large windows. They've been working on small radial dishes on the ceilings of houses that will track the sun (small photovoltaic cell and motor on dish) connected with fiber optic cables to run the sunlight into a building. They have been using a UV filter just before the fiber optic cables and disperser at the end to add natural light to the inside of a building. There is an immense amount of energy that comes through the fiber optics (without the UV filter) and they have actually been able to boil water with it. I believe that the commercial applications use plastic fiber optic cables instead of glass and don't allow as much energy through, but we'll see what advances come along in the future. If I can combine the eutectic salt chamber with an additional external case (reflective inside and a few slits for air flow at the top and bottom) and fiber optics bringing the sunlight down to it, I might just have a way to heat the middle of the house without having to loose heat with a window.

Well, I've got time. I'm still working and going to school. I'm years away from buying a house. But when I do, I would like to build my own on a piece of land.

How To Clean Out Your Attic

laura says...

he's right, there are no bats that I know of, but there are rats in San Diego. Trust me. Giant nasty roof rats. Ones that open your garbage cans and take what they like. Then they live in your attic crawl space and die and stink up the place. Really.

How To Clean Out Your Attic

rottenseed says...

Here in San Diego people rarely have anything other than crawl spaces for attics. You kinda just put up there what you can reach from the hole-for-a-access door. Since it's usually nice and sunny here, our garages aren't necessary for our cars and they take the brunt of our clutter. I don't think there's ever bats, just mice or rats.

4 Girls Falsely Cry Rape - Cabbie Has Incident On Video

MrFisk says...

I was involved in an incident where a girl claimed rape after a mini-orgy in my friend's attic. Two chicks and two guys, although the other guy only got a blowjob. Anyways, one of the girl's boyfriends somehow heard about the night. She said, "rape". Fortunately, for me, the other girl verified to the aforementioned, enraged football player that she was there and everything was more than consensual. And that's why I'm always trying to fuck at least two chicks at the same time and/or film it.

Well I know that doesn't work for squirrels either. We trapped some in our attic and drove them to a park a few miles away so they wouldn't come back to us, but apparently squirrels are territorial enough to kill the new guys we released.

Doesn't he peak out of the hole at the end? The compression is so horrible it's hard to tell. If that is him, he doesn't seem terribly distressed.

Oh, that's right. His voice sounds undistressed and he recovered quickly. He must have landed high up in order to be able to reach out the hole like that... maybe in an attic.

The festival finished Thursday night.

Anyway, I’m tired. % )

Some of my parents records that I liked:

-Herb Alpert - Whipped Cream (I can't tell you how many hours I stared at that album cover)
-Nat King Cole
-John Denver
-Kenny Rogers
-Simon and Garfunkel - Bridge Over Troubled Water - I practically memorized every word to every song on that album, because it had the lyrics on the back
-LOTS of traditional Irish music records. My dad's parents were both from Ireland. The Irish Rovers were one of his favorites.
-Dean Martin

In reply to this comment by schmawy:
Ditto! Just replace Styx with Jethro Tull and Kansas with Motorhead, Maiden, and Priest. Prior to that it was my parent's records, Fats Domino, Beachboys, and Johnny Cash.

In reply to this comment by kronosposeidon:
Did you ever have an extension cord for those big puffy cans? I had a 25-foot extension cord for my phones, so that I could wander all over my bedroom while I rocked out on "Glass Houses", my very first vinyl record. Followed by:

2. Styx - Paradise Theatre
3. AC/DC - Back In Black
4. Styx - Grand Illusion
5. Rush - Moving Pictures
6. Pink Floyd - The Wall
7. Van Halen - I
8. Pink Floyd - Dark Side Of The Moon
9. Pink Floyd - Meddle
10. Kansas - Leftoverture
11. Pink Floyd -Wish You Were Here
12. Rush - Permanent Waves

And the rest are kind of blur after that, but those were my first 12 disciples. I'll always remember.

You may be right, I may be crazy.

In reply to this comment by schmawy:
Nor did I fall asleep every night wearing big puffy headphones with the curly cord listening to an 8-track copy of Songs From the Attic that I bought at Bradlees with my lawn-mowing money. If you ever hear this rumor it is a complete fabrication.
