Ann Coulter Calls Kindergarten Teachers ‘Useless’
@blankfist Yeah, I remember a lot of finger-painting, the Halloween party where I took some candy off the teacher's desk and got in trouble, throwing giant wads of wet toilet paper on the ceiling in the bathroom, and playing with giant legos to build a fort (until some jackass demanded that I share and took my North wall).
I honestly don't remember much or anything about the work involved but I DO remember that I arrived in first grade and we didn't start with the alphabet, we started with reading, and I already knew how to do it.
This may come as a shock to you, but many kids don't pay attention in school to remember last year let alone kindergarten. Tis' a shame really but we do what we can to drill information into their heads, even if they kick and scream to avoid learning it.
Sit Ubu Sit, Good Dog
It's not a 'b'. It's a glottal stop. In lazyman's International Phonetic Alphabet: /sıt?u:bu:sıt/
Why you should be republican (Election Talk Post)
>> ^Lawdeedaw:
There is, in my mind, a bigger issue at hand than the tissue at hand (Sorry, Elmo in Grouchland ref...)
And that is the movement of society. Paul isn't, as I have note before, a means to an end. He is the first step in a million mile march.
Yes, and to me that march is a million miles in the wrong direction.
>> ^Lawdeedaw:
The only two things he can get done in office is 1--Change the direction of our nation's military might (Which is far more important than say Unions from a financial perspective.) 2--Stop federal enforcement of the drug war.
He could also sabotage the EPA, HHS (and healthcare reform!), dismantle the SEC, FEC, FCC, Department of Education, etc, etc, etc.
Yes, while he goes indiscriminately axing through every alphabet soup agency on his way to the FRB, he'll stop off at the DEA, probably right after the ATF and FBI, mind, but that's not an enticement for me to support him.
But for me the big deal with the Presidency is the bully pulpit. The most common complaint us liberals have about Obama is that that guy who gave beautiful, moving speeches in favor of our philosophy just completely vanished when he got sworn in as President.
Paul's whole point in running is to get more time in front of a camera to give voice to what he believes in. I doubt he'd hesitate to use the bully pulpit to the fullest. And keep in mind, much of what he believes in is complete anathema to me.
>> ^Lawdeedaw:
To say you don't trust him on certain things is odd. What would it take to earn your trust?
He'd have to stop lying! In 2008 I might have wanted him to become the Republican nominee, but 3 years of being subscribed to the Campaign for Liberty mailing list has completely disabused me of that.
I definitely don't want to help that man become President.
Oh, and not to tweak you off too much, but I agree with every word this guy said.

Jon Stewart Exposes Mainstream Media Bias Against Ron Paul
Same thing last election. Paul beat McCain in Arizona, but so narrowly that CNN felt it ok to put them alphabetically in order on their website - Time mentioned him like once during the entire Primary cycle. Just bizarre how openly they're dismissing him. It's like openly admitting their corruption.

Lilith was never in scripture and was written about over 1000 years after genesis. It was written as Jewish folklore, and developed mostly in the middle ages. Today it is particularly embraced by pagans, gnostics and radical femenists. It's yet another lie, out of millions, that tries to derail the Creation story and that people buy into without doing any research. There is no lilith conspiracy..she never existed.

On civility, name calling and the Sift (Fear Talk Post)
I'm sick of walking on egg shells. If I can't be a part of discussions for fear of hurting feelings, then what's the point of being on the site? The discussions are what bring me back to this place again and again. Some of the most interesting people on the site are chatting it up *bareboards2 *blankfist *dag and *netrunner (in alphabetical order) and I can't help to not join in. I don't want to antagonize, so I'll be as diplomatic as possible. Please don't upvote any of my comments, because I don't want this discussion to feel like a competition.
