Lol. Trump, Barr, and likely Giuliani are now under subpoena in Hunter’s selectively prosecuted criminal case.
What do you want to bet they don’t show up and won’t produce documents?

😂 The ethics report on Santos is out. It reveals significant evidence that he not only lied about $750k in loans never paid to his campaign (but was reimbursed using political donations), but created shell companies and lied to fellow congressmen that they supplied political consulting to Trump (never saying he was sole owner and employee) then took their secret donations to Trump for his credit card bills and only-fans gay porn….and much much much more.
Quoted from the ethics committee report-
“The ISC’s investigation revealed a complex web of unlawful activity involving Representative Santos’ campaign, personal, and business finances. Representative Santos sought to fraudulently exploit every aspect of his house candidacy for his own personal financial profit.”
Republicans knew all this and much more when they recently voted to not remove or censure him.
He will be another albatross around your neck next election season….him, and the horrific Republican response to his criminality. 😂

Liberal Redneck - To Hell with Roy Moore

StukaFox says...

Good on Alabama for electing Jones over Moore!

This is a win for the GOP, too -- they just dodged having that albatross around the party's neck for years to come.

Everyone won. Except Moore.

Two babies being saved from a hot, locked car

smooman says...

"man, ive had this baby on my hip alllll day. whew im beat! but ive still got a ton of errands to run. here, i'll just set him down right here on this street corner and i'll be back in 2 minutes"

look, i know there are no perfect parents (because there's no perfect people) and as such we fuck up from time to time. parenting is an ever changing, constant learning session. the difference being, you are justifying the fuck ups with idiotic nonsense. leave your baby alone, in a stifling car, which i might add is far more dangerous for young children/babies, because theyre too much of a hassle for you? theyre kids! not fucking albatrosses! that shows an abject lack of any shred of parental responsibility on your part. seriously, i sincerely hope you do not have kids

Pilot in fighter jet ejects SECONDS before crash in Canada

This looks to be an older f-18, not the super hornet. It is hard to tell, the main difference is easy to spot normally as the old school hornet has oval intakes, where as the super hornet has rectangle ones. It is possible the aircraft become unstable when the operator was trying to bank while under speed. However, that isn't the only explanation as there could of been bad wind sheer, flame out (hard to say, right when it is going down I hear 2 pops, but that could be the rockets from the ejection seats), or some type of failure on the plane itself. It shouldn't be an albatross until the investigation is in. There is a very small window for error when flying at those speeds at that altitude. It is as close to the razors edge you get pulling [combat] maneuvers at low speed and altitude.

Why are most computer science researchers terrible at writing? (Blog Entry by jwray)

GeeSussFreeK says...

For myself, I have the same disconnect in my brain for writing as I do basic art. What I mean is when I try and draw something, I can never get my mind and body to get it to come out like I want it...it feels like there is some kind of block in my brain. The same goes for writing. The ability to express the mood, context, and events in words on paper feels completely unnatural...and as a result all writing has that constant albatross; this looming doubt in the back of my mind plaguing any new attempts with doubt and uncertainty. Moreover, it has that has always been the case. For as long as I can remember, language and art have always felt very forgiven in my brain...like a man from a planet where they only have one leg learning the jitterbug.

I really do think it is a product of brain ability and formation. There does seem to be a tenancy for people who are analytic and scientific (and I use those loosely) to have large problems in the area of language and creativity (and I use those loosely). If you have ever seen an engineer craft a user interface...it becomes readily obvious. For some, there might be an certain level of elitism in language to "test" those whom are reading, but I would say on the whole most people are just unable to transcend their own inadequacy of the grasp of using language "properly". (I have misspelled language every time it was used in these short couple of paragraphs, I actually fear writing to a certain extent because of my inability to spell)

Nine teens charged in bullying that led to girl's suicide

GeeSussFreeK says...

Ya, statutory rape is such a misuse of the word rape. We all know what rape is; it is one of the most violating acts a human can perform on another short of murder. Statutory rape tries to steal some of the thunder from the word rape to trump up what is really happening. What is funny is that doesn't hold for things like murder, IE, accidental murder gets a verbiage downgrade to manslaughter in most states. Statutory rape, in the case of young people having sex with other young people, is just a taboo that has been criminalized. Most DA's "USE" the charge to get young people that they feel are a danger locked up for longer and forced into an albatross.

If one were to take a real look into the sexual going's on's of our high schools and middle schools, most of the student base would be in jail and a sex offender. In reality, from what I have seen, this charge ONLY gets used as a DA's last resort to get someone...much akin to Al Capone's tax indictment. The law isn't supposed to "send a message" it is supposed to "do a job" and that job is justice. Justice is blind and as such isn't supposed to trump up charges to ruin some peoples lives so that other people "get the message".

With all that said, I got the raw end of bullies in school so I sympathize. But lets hope the culprits get brought up on the right charges, not the charges that satisfies emotions.

The Albatross in Flight

The Albatross in Flight

schmawy says...

Interesting facts about Albatrosses...

- They have an acute sense of smell, which is unusual for birds.

- They drink sea water, and remove the salt via a gland near their eyes that secretes a 5% saline solution.

- Males and females bond over years, eventually for life.

- 19 of the 21 species are threatened

- They have special tendons that allow the birds to lock their shoulders, requiring no muscular effort to keep their wings open.

- Albatrosses have a glide ratio of 23:1

- They are not strong fliers, and their wing shape is poorly suited to flapping flight, but instead for efficient lift while gliding. In calm weather they are forced to rest on the surface until the wind returns .
