Why did they collide though? Was it pilot error, or was it faulty equipment.

If it's faulty equipment it could result in the same thing happening in other Airshows involving either Skyraiders or P-51 Mustangs. Personally, I'd prefer this not happen at the airshow I'm going to in two weeks, and would rather an investigation be conducted to ensure that I don't have a P-51 crash land in the crowd.

But in all honesty, I'm heading to an Airshow in Detroit in a couple weeks. I still have a promise to fulfill from like last year saying that I'd send a picture of me in a Videosift shirt, however, my Videosift broke.

I have a Vidcu ft shirt now, because the lettering fell off. It's sadly not the same.

So, it won't be in a sift shirt, but I'm sure I'll have a picture of me standing in front of a plane, or something.

I thought those sorts of maneuvers weren't really possible without thrust vectoring, and I don't believe F-18's have thrust vectoring (though it may have been added in an update or later models). Anyways, it's kind of a good thing he ejected while facing away from where the giant fireball was going to be a couple seconds later.
