F16 crashes at airshow after failing to stop after landing

"F16 crash. F16 Runs out of runway. Pilot not injured fortunately.

YouTube "aviation experts" are discussing the causes of the crash: engine failure with throttle stuck open? pilot incapacitation? pilot view obscured by smoke in cockpit? runway surface issue, brake failure, pilot error when coming too fast into short runway. That's all theories. One said "The pilot overshot the target he was supposed to land on and was left with a very short runway to stop. That's the official release from EAA as of now."" - YouTube

From my extensive PC flight simulator experience, I would say the most likely scenario is that the pilot's cat jumped up into his lap just as he was about to touch down.

Can't just be that he ran out of runway, those guys spend hours and hours practicing how to take off again if something goes awry with the landing (if they can take off again).
