Hey! Transgender Kids

Hey! Transgender Kids

poolcleaner says...

So yeah, im a half in, half out of the closet trans person living a genderfluid reality. Complicated existence, and unlesz you're in the demographic or a serious ally, you just don't understand what it's like. This isn't a new revelation, I have known this about myself as long as i have had self awareness.

I grew up during the Reagan era, so no one gave a shit that I thought I was a girl.

Literally just shit on and reshaped and fear thunderstruck, raped, molested as a form of homosexual comversion -- you got this shit?

I just didn't understand what people meant when they were trying to explain the differencez between male and female because i was CERTAIN i was a girl when I was 3 years old. And yes i have those memories. In fact, the age of 4 through 7 are the most vivid and awful memories of my reality an you may stare theough me and rwfuse to understand if you want, but like the song says "We exist." (By Arcade Fire; Cool song even if the musician isnt trans.)

Anyway. We are just shit on. I'm used to it. A friend of mine used to call me a white nigger and honestly, as racial insensitive as that is (a black guy telling me this) that is the feeling. Police brutality and all. Whatever. You dont want to understand so just dont bother. I got sick to death of explaining this so long ago it doent matter to me. How fu king sad is that? How fu ling sad is my goddamn perspective? How can I even be happy in this world? Its shit.

Logic: If you are so afraid we are a bunch of rapists, what about gay people who aren't transgender -- where do they take a pee where people won't fear them molesting people of the same sex? I mean, is there going to be a "Gays Only" and "Transgender Only" bathroom?? It doesn't make sense even if you fear us.

And in my humble and humiliated existence, gay people have wanted nothing to do with me and have even tried to convert and change my opinions of myself. Even in the middle of FUCKING LA PRIDE. Assholez like that CUNT Milo. He can go DIE.

It doesn't make sense. Have you ever peed in a Men's Restroom with a dress on? Totally awkward.

I know I'm using colloquialisms and non-PC language, but I'm just really depressed about this -- as if I wasn't already depressed about everything all the time lol

Republicans. Fuck you. I have no other means of relating my disappointment in the entirity of all reality -- the very fabric of this universe is hate.

Bill Maher - Milo Yiannopoulos Interview

00Scud00 says...

Unfortunately HP's answer to #3 is pretty weak.
"3. Transgender people are not “disproportionately involved” in sex crimes

At least not in the way Yiannopoulos claims. In fact, in the past 35 years, only one case of an alleged trans person attacking someone in a restroom has been reported anywhere in the entire world. "

So, the takeaway from this is that in 35 years there's been one recorded attack in a bathroom, but nothing on any other kind of sex crime. So I find this answer to be kind of dodgy.

That being said of course Milo's own statement is actually pretty vague when you think about it, by merely saying that trans people were "involved" in a disproportionate number of sex crimes, this says nothing about whether they were involved as perpetrators or victims. Milo knows that most of the people he's trolling of course will assume he means that they perpetrate crimes, say what you will, he knows his trolling.

Also, I did a brief search but couldn't find any actual statistics, which I was really hoping would be in the Huffpo article.

He's probably transgender, yes. And if you think he's cute, you should see the *Nordic girls.

I'm not sure I follow. Is she transgender?

Or is it really just about a dad realizing his daughter wanted a hair straightener (despite that her hair is already straight)?

Kids' Honest Opinions on Being a Boy or Girl

xxovercastxx says...

I do wonder a lot whether one of the main problems we have is all the restrictive associations we have with gender. Now I get that some people are completely repulsed by the genitals they were born with, but it seems a far greater number of transgendered people are perfectly content to "live as" their preferred gender without making major alterations.

Do we really need 200 genders or do we just need to accept that the guy who likes to put on an evening gown and go ballroom dancing is still a man?

This is all speculative pondering on my part -- I don't know anyone transgendered who I could ask. If I'm way off base, I apologize to anyone who may find this offensive.

Have you met kids? It's pretty common for kids, even "normal" kids, to play with toys of the opposite gender. Boys play with dolls; girls play with toy soldiers. Boys put on sparkly dresses; girls put on football helmets.

When you've got a 4 year old boy asking how to kill himself, but putting on a dress makes him feel better, maybe he's on to something.

While I agree it's absurdly complicated, I suspect that gets worse as you get older and more firmly affixed in your pigeonhole. Plus, if Avery decides to undergo physical alteration, whether it be hormone treatment or full surgical reassignment, it goes a lot better if you start that process at or before puberty starts making its own changes.

So after a brief google-foo: The mother of the child is an active trans campaigner (what a co-incidence!). And the child in question began transition at.....wait for it.....FOUR FUCKING YEARS OLD!

So you are for perverts in bathrooms?

The law does not differentiate between transgenders and perverts.

That's the problem.

If you take your daughter to the movies and you stand and watch her walk into the bathroom and then a man walks into the same bathroom would you not be like Fck this is wrong and go in after you girl?

Pathetic is not fighting for morality.

Let's Talk About Bathrooms

harlequinn says...

No force fields, just people who will challenge you. I.e. in almost all the world, in general, if the someone tries to enter the opposite sex's bathroom, they will be challenged. Yes, if nobody is around then nobody will challenge them.

You won't need a wig and dress under the new system. You'll only need to walk straight in, in full male clothing. No one will challenge you because they'll be under the assumption that you identify as the female gender.

So to be clear, this will increase the opportunities for people to enter the opposite sex's bathroom. That is the extra risk.

Just to clear up some general confusion I see:

You can be transgender and not change your clothing or sexual appearance.

You can be transsexual and still be cisgender. I.e. you can have sexual reassignment, or cross-dress and remain cisgender.

Do the toilets everywhere else in the world have magical force fields on them that stop the opposite sex entering the wrong bathroom, or what? Have i been using the antiquated honour-system bathrooms where it's an open door that humans can pass freely through?

The reason i ask is because there seems to be an unspoken agreement in this discussion that "allowing" transgender men into female bathrooms CREATES the problem of sexual predators going into women's bathrooms.

How many sexual predators have been keeping a dress, a wig and fake breasts in the cupboard hoping and praying for the moment that they pass the law which magically opens up this previously inaccessible area? The idea that sex offenders have been walking past women's bathrooms all this time desperate and yet unable to get in, and now we're going to turn off the force fields and things will be different!

This doesn't create a new risk. Sexual predators can go into women's bathrooms right now. And you can't go in and check before your daughter uses it, so how do you know one isn't in there? What extra risk is there?
