Scott Brown: Tea Party Patriarch

Rachel Gives the Oval Office Address Obama Should Have

lampishthing says...

But... wouldn't she need that senate seat in 2012 as a launchpad to the 2016 presidency?! On the other hand, she could run against him in the republican primary for 2012 and sidestep the original accusation. That'd totally work.>> ^NetRunner:

But then... Scott Brown would have been right... I sense an issue.>> ^NetRunner:
Fake president for real president in 2016!

Nah, because Scott Brown was saying she was going to directly challenge him for Senate in 2012.

Didn't this get started when he was at a game, and they invited him down to do some calls, and then the guy challenged the President to a game of horse?
Seems to me, Obama was just accepting the challenge =)

I'm pretty sure that's actually exactly what it was about (with, sure, a little more photo-op thrown in). Scott Brown and his daughter have challenged him to a game of 2v2, too. Don't know if he's accepted that one, though.

Healthcare Reform Without Single Payer Is No Reform at All

NetRunner says...

@marinara, as much as I love a good populist outrage, I don't particularly think stocks going up tell us much. The health insurance stocks skyrocketed when reform looked like it was dead (i.e. after Scott Brown's truck got elected to the Senate), and they'll probably surge again when health care reform passes. Both sides spun the Scott Brown surge as vindication of their arguments, and the same will happen no matter what stocks do after reform actually passes.

Besides, I'm not sure one of the goals for reform should be ruining the stock value of the insurance companies. That would be illogical.

Instead, the goal should be to get them to actually work to better serve people's needs, rather than work to rip off as many people as possible.

Scott Brown has the ability to centralize every issue around himself now, as the representative that 'mericans are sick of Obamanazim.
I think the democrats fold. Unless Obama brings out something that has popular domestic support as a dues ex machina, something the GOP can't sling poo at without risking losing it's own people. I mean they still would because they are GOP, who strike me the kind of people who'd tell any democracy president that they wipe their ass the unamerican way.
Still fold. Demos have no balls to filibuster nor do they have any cohesive strategy that unifies them as much as the GOP.

If the Dems had love like the Cons have greed, we might stand a chance.
