Clearly you haven't watched much rally racing. Female co-drivers are quite common.

It looks like it's the acceleration that's getting to her, she's relatively calm in the corners, and only squeals a bit in on decel. I'm sure that the amount of noise from the car being gutted is probably unnerving her too. Most people just aren't used to their senses being assaulted in any way, seemingly especially her because it definitely doesn't look like he was doing anything crazy

Is it just me or does the lady put her kid right in front of her as a human shield...at least push your kid out of the way! Worst parent ever. The other lady in the blue jacket isn't even looking at the car as it barrels around the corner! How stupid are these people?
Christ every time I re-watch it she gets stupider and stupider. She doesn't even move...she just crouches as if this is a sumo match, WTF?


I think I've seen enough of these videos to say that just being at a Rally makes you dumb as a box of hammers, but given that she's there and in the spot she is: She has about *one second* between when it's obvious that the car is out of control and when it slams into her.

A couple of people do see it and react fast enough to jump out of the way, but she had literally just arrived at the spot and probably hadn't gotten herself ready to react yet.

obviously this was a case of the floor-mat getting stuck under the accelerator...
Lexus just had a recall on the same exact problem.
once the vehicle was elevated (on top of the 2 cars), the floor-mat became dislodged, and the driver was able to calmly put it in reverse and proceed about their business.

Luckily no one was injured.

1) Stand close to a rally car track
2) Race cycles in the rain, or on a wet track
3) CRASHING YOUR CAR INTO WHAT EVER THE HELL THOSE STUPID PILLARS THAT COME OUT OF THE GROUND IN THE UK ARE.
