Jury finds 3 men guilty for the murder of Ahmaud Arbery

newtboy says...

Just to prove a point, a white pastor (in similar clothes to Ahmaud) decided to run through the neighborhood carrying a TV on his shoulder for over 2 miles…..big surprise, he had absolutely no problem, no confrontation, no police called. I wonder why.

RITTENHOUSE, Law, Verdict

JiggaJonson says...

I only watched the court proceedings. Like I said, I hope he's in your neighborhood not mine @bobknight33 I don't want to get Rittenhoused, which is apparently legal.

I'm surprised he didn't feel like he would lose his life if the court took it. But just like that poor kid who got boxed in by a truck, he was running, so...

Made me wonder, how many steps (geographically/ scale) can be made starting with the universe and ending at a residential address?

(may not apply to everywhere i'd assume)

That's my best stab at it. Do tell if it's not correct in some way.

Kid Gets Caught While Trying to Steal Package

The camera isn't racist. The homeowner might be a racist (we would not know unless he/she uploads every instance of such attempts to give a cold-hard-fact account that's free of manipulation -- even though that's STILL not factoring in the socio-econo-racial problem of the neighborhood -- if you choose to see things with a racial lens). But the comment absolutely is racist.

Years ago, living in my suburb home, my bike was stolen by 2 kids (garage door was open as I was mowing the lawn, but I went inside for the loo for 2 mins), I was lucky and spotted them about 5~6 streets down (took 2 lucky correct turns). They were 2 kids about 8~10 y.o. One White one Asian. Guess which one was the older, pack leader (hold my adult-size bike) and absolutely showing no remorse after getting caught?

Regardless, the kids parents might have a hard life working on weekends at low paying jobs so couldn't spend time with these kids. Who knows? I'm not so quick to judgement without knowing the root causes.

Thing is, I blame society-at-large and not see it as a racial thing. Kids are kids, easy to succumb to such temptation without good parental/peer/mentor guidance. Especially nowadays, they see adults making a CAREER/LIVING as Porch Pirates, what examples are adults giving them to imitate? You have like 40% of the adult population celebrate con mans and elect them Senators, Governors & President!

NYC's Anti-Vax Rally in 49 Seconds

Lemme guess, you don't care about that when it comes to remdesvir, which is not FDA approved, costs in the neighborhood of 4000 times as much (with profit margins to match) and known side effects are worse including....
Back pain
chest tightness
chills
cough
dark-colored urine
difficulty swallowing
fast heartbeat
fever
flushing
headache
hives, itching
light-colored stools
nausea and vomiting
puffiness or swelling of the eyelids or around the eyes, face, lips, or tongue
stomach pain, continuing
trouble breathing
unusual tiredness or weakness
yellow eyes or skin
Seizures
skin rash

People have severe side effects often enough that you have to wait under observation for an hour after getting it to be sure you don't need medical help.
You can't sue them either, but I'm sure that also doesn't matter to you because Republicans told you to take it instead of an FDA approved vaccine (and just coincidentally they and their major donors all own shares in the manufacturer).

Big pharma makes billions from the vaccine. Best part is they can't be sued if you die from the vaccine.

LAPD Intentionally Sets Off Huge Bomb In A Neighborhood

LAPD Intentionally Sets Off Huge Bomb In A Neighborhood

newtboy says...

I heard 5000 lbs in other reports too....but it seems that's the entire haul, not what they exploded on scene. Footage of the 5000 lbs of fireworks looked like two pallets worth. I'm curious about whether the fireworks were removed before detonation or if they just got lucky they didn't go off too.

That was not just 10 lbs of fireworks exploding. It flipped over nearby cars and obliterated the bomb disposal truck, launching the 1ton lid over two blocks away. I know that's the LAPDs story, 10 lbs, but they aren't exactly known for telling the truth, especially if it's bad for them.

I've now read there were 40 coke can sized IEDs and 200 more slightly smaller devices all filled with unknown explosives. That sounds like 35lbs +- for the coke can sized ones alone (based on the weight of an unopened can), and who knows how much the smaller ones weighed, but there were 200 of them!!! Somebody screwed up big time putting them all in at once. That was way more than 10 lbs of unknown high explosives, and 10lbs wouldn't be safe to dispose of in a neighborhood. It should have been done in stages, starting with a test of just one, and a full evacuation of the block, not knocking on the 2 neighbor's doors and walking away.

At least it's turning out that most of the injuries weren't civilians, but more than one home is destroyed and many may have permanent hearing damage.

eric3579 said:

She says detonating 5000 lbs? From what i could find it was 10 lbs as the container was rated to take up to 15 lbs.

Seems almost all the fireworks were on pallets and were forklifted onto a semi to be moved.

Chicago most violent weekend of the year: No cops involved

newtboy says...

Nothing here indicated Chicago police didn't shoot or otherwise kill anyone....where did you get that @bobknight33? Just an assumption because Fox didn't say they did?

I don't think you realize how awful, disgusting, and insanely wrong it is that you would have to put that disclaimer, that police weren't involved in mass murder THIS WEEKEND!!!? You probably didn't realize you were saying that "look, everyone. Cops weren't the perpetrators THIS TIME like we have all come to expect them to be"....and you say it with no apparent evidence that it's correct besides police shootings not being lumped in with gang shootings on one Fox broadcast?!

Just wow, buddy. Way to make the point that even anti BLM, pro blue lives matter idiots are surprised when cops can go one weekend in one city without committing any racist murders....not that there's any evidence they actually didn't.

Btw, Chicago is the 73rd worst city in America for violent crime with 9.4 violent crimes per 1000 residents. There are dozens and dozens of Republican led towns and cities worse. Spartanburg SC made the list this year coming at #29 with 12 violent crimes per 1000 residents. Why aren't you decrying the sorry state they're in?

Edit: maybe the cops were all at the fireworks show.....

Amber Ruffin schools America about critical race theory

newtboy says...

Never one to miss an opportunity to display your race baiting ignorance, I see.

CRT and 1619 are adults dreams that maybe Americans like you can grow up enough and gain the testicular fortitude to learn their own history without whitewashing it for fear of catching the vapors and offending your delicate sensibilities. Doing that, ignoring centuries of deeply ingrained systemic racism, from legally considering black people subhumans, only 3/5 of a person ( https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Three-fifths_Compromise ) , to Jim Crow to redlining (Trump's favorite kind of racism) to the more subtle but pervasive racism of legislation aimed directly at black people without directly mentioning race (like voter ID laws and minimal polling places in black neighborhoods and gluts of polling places in predominantly white neighborhoods) has allowed ignoramuses to believe racism is over or never existed....because they don't see it with their blinders on, not because it's not there.

This is why education beyond 8th grade matters, Bob. Proud ignorance isn't a good look and gets you ridiculed every time you confidently spout nonsense.

Shoplifting Running Rampant

newtboy says...

Nonsense. Utter nonsense.
"Steal whatever you want and it's no longer a crime." "Stealing is now allowed." Utter bullshit. Stealing a steak is no longer a felony, it's still a crime. Repeat offenders can be charged with felonies for petty theft. Groups can be individually charged with the entire amount the group steals. Going back repeatedly to steal more doesn't reset the amount stolen. Just so much hyper exaggeration and outright *lies in this anti-California hit piece. What this stopped was 17 year olds being charged with felonies and as adults for stealing one $1 taco, like my friend was in the 80's.

Hilarious they denounce this as causing "violence in America" when the reason it passed was non violent petty criminals were filling the prisons, causing violent criminals to get reduced or no sentences. It was passed to combat violence in America. It does not effect the penalty for any crime involving violence, and frees up space to incarcerate violent criminals.

They lied so many times in this video, in so many ways. Is there a problem, yes. Is prop 47 the main cause? Absolutely not. Is theft not a crime in California?
No, it's absolutely a crime still today.

Poverty in high cost of living areas are the main cause. Lax policing, only wanting to go after felonies because it helps their careers is another. Prison overcrowding is another. Little security in stores with expensive easily resellable small items in bad/impoverished neighborhoods is another. This is not just a California or Bay Area issue, these group store invasions have been a regular occurrence nation wide for years if not decades.

Odd how these people love to bemoan all the anti business laws in California, but don't want to recognize that California is the biggest, most robust economy in America, the fifth largest in the world if it were a country, with the second largest growth in the world if it were a country, only beaten by China in growth. Also hilarious that, when compared with TOTAL taxation, average residents of Texas ($60-$80k per year) pay MORE in taxes than the same earning level in California.
Also hilarious that, while many if not most states are sliding deeper in debt, California has a $70-$80BILLION dollar surplus. ...but by all means, right wingers, move out, it's a failed state. 🤦‍♂️

You might want to look up Jacob Wohl and Jack Burkman....the guys who hired the young guy to claim he had an affair with Elizabeth Warren....they've got over 15 felony cases for election fraud pending for their racist republican ploy of robocalling black neighborhoods and lying, claiming that if you vote by mail, all your personal information will be forwarded to police to see if you have warrants, to collection agencies to see if you have debts, to any agencies or groups that might want their personal information for anything. Of course, all bullshit, and thankfully a felony in at least 15 of the states they did it in.

More Republican election fraud, verified and charged, while you morons look for bamboo fibers on ballots because you're so moronic you believe the lies that China just sent boxes of ballots that were counted as real....and so stupidly racist you believe that anything from China will be covered in bamboo, and anything with traces of bamboo must be from China (like it doesn't grow in America).

Also look up Bruce Bartman, sentenced recently for registering his dead relatives to vote and trying to vote using their ballots. More voter fraud, again Republican voter fraud.

Daily the overwhelming evidence of republican fraud campaigns are coming to light. Still not a single democratic voter fraud case. Your party of criminals is being exposed without Trump and Barr to shield them. It's not going to go well for you guys.

Enjoy.

How To NOT Use A Roundabout

TheFreak says...

Interesting. It's also possible that I was misinformed about how the right of way works. Mind you, I'm not talking about stopping in the roundabout to let people enter. I mean that you slow slightly if it's necessary to allow people to enter. You certainly don't speed up to block them, which is what happens in my neighborhood right now.

I also know that no one is going to survive a 3-lane freeway roundabout if people aren't being conscious of the traffic that's entering the roundabout.

Spacedog79 said:

It depends on what country you're in. In the UK and I believe most countries you yield to people already on the roundabout.
