Yes, more feeding of the troll. Still after studying near death experiences (NDS's) here's what I think:

For obvious reasons, people who experience NDE's tend to "envision" their own religious figures. For example, Africans don't "envision" Jesus any more than Americans "envision" Zeus. So does this prove all religions exist independently? Or do the shared similarities in the NDE's of people from different religions suggest they are all inherently the same? Another interesting tidbit I picked up while studying: Agnostics/Atheists who have NDE's do often become more spiritual; however, religious folks who come close to death and do NOT have NDE's can actually become LESS spiritual over time.

lol, spewed milk out my nose when i read this
and i wasn't even drinking milk :-0

using your rationalization, there's more evidence for Clockwork/Machine Elves than there isn't:

simplest possible explanation?
our brains, while we are different people, are really similar to other people's brains... and when they get oxygen deprived, or the neurons stop firing, or drugs that actual occur naturally in the brain are taken in large amounts... the results are pretty similar or even identical independant of which human being it happens to...

analogy: start any car... while its running, cut off the supply of fuel to the engine... and see how many cars don't sputter out and stop... how long it continues to run, the sputter sound, etc may vary... but that's the subjective portion... ie I saw Christian angels.. or all my ancestors... or my spirit animal... etc

the actual stop of the engine is the tunnel of light "phenomenon" etc

if a person's first response or only response to something they can't explain is something of a divine nature... they aren't trying hard enough

We've covered this before lantern... which is more probable: a person hallucinates when their brain is deprived of oxygen ooooor, magic sky-daddy controls the universe, but forsakes millions of people who don't know him just because of where they were born (say in the middle of the Amazon before the conquistadors showed up).

What? How does individuals seeing things count as evidence? First hand experience in subjective unscientific and carries the least weight in a courtroom than anything else. If that's your evidence than you might as well skull-fuck your professors they aren't doing you a damn bit of good.

I miss the guttural nature of Schwarzeneggers accent. I underestimated how much it lent to the feeling of being in a different world in the original film.

This is also not that gritty. It's polished and well-produced, with flashy sword fighting and martial arts techniques, which feel out of place. Blood and sex does not make a gritty film.

A gritty film would capture the raw nature of a real-life struggle. Not some artful dance of blades or skill in a swordfight, as much as two out-of-breath, near death men, both covered in their own blood, one missing his sword arm and only holding a shield to defend from the man in front of him, who's scalp and shoulder muscles he exposed a moment earlier with a near-missed strike, and still he manages to be victorious by spitting a mouthful of dirt into his opponents eyes, and stomping him to death on the neck.

I'm still interested to see what this will be like, but this actually reduced my interest level.

@berticus Thank You for the link. I've read the article and it was very enlightening.

SUMMARY:
Reactions to claims of near-death experiences (NDE) range from the popular view that this must be evidence for life after death, to outright rejection of the experiences as, at best, drug induced hallucinations or, at worse, pure invention. Twenty years, and much research, later, it is clear that neither extreme is correct.

I think you are commenting on this part of mine,

"Science suggests it could be the result of a series of biological reactions that help the body cope." (1:42) Can you show me the studies that suggest this--No, there are none. That is an incorrect use of the word "science".

I was commenting on the part, "...that help the body to cope." This is the bad science I was referring to. There is no doubt that a series of biological reactions take place.

As the summary shows the article doesn't conclude that science proves that the near death experience is only the result of dying neurons.

I would like to hear your evaluation of the article and your thoughts on this subject.

It would have been more accurate, if she called it simulated near death experiences. There are documented cases and scientific studies on that topic, you can get your brain to "restart".

I don't think she means "after death", it got to be just before it...

"figure out whats going to happen when we die" so retarded and deluded ,
although hallucinogens might very well be a worth while exsperance and help you think about new ides or how you perceive things its irritating how physdo science and general retardation seems to worm its way into everything.

Dog plays with deer

mamacat says...

This is a great video of our dog, Buddy, and a rescued baby deer. They were just playing together when this video was taken. As the deer (a buck) got bigger, he went to live on his own in the woods, but still comes back to visit our dog and cats and us every now and then. I'm sure we will eventually not see him any more, but it's nice to know that we saved him from death. When he was first found, he was dehydrated and near death on a 100+ degree summer day in Texas. After treating him for deydration and bottle feeding him daily, he eventually became strong enough to live on his own. We caught the little deer and our dog playing with the soccer ball on a few occassions before this particular day. We had to film this, as they were having so much fun running around together. Our dog loved this deer and the deer loved the dog. We often found them laying next to each other on our front porch when we awakened in the morning. Please know that the buck has now gone on to live in the wooded areas in the hill country around us. He seems right at home there. Enjoy!!!!
