EPIC Canyon Mini Jet Boating - New Zealand

newtboy says...

There was a lot of discussion about that in the YouTube comments. What made sense was one commenter who said when he had run into similar situations out kayaking he had plenty of warning because of the motor noise and it was simple to pull over until the jet boat passed. He wasn’t so sure about how electric boats would announce themselves.

That could have turned out badly if there had been any paddlers in the canyon.

The World's First CVVD Engine - Genius!

lucky760 says...

The first thing that comes to mind is how antiquated this video is going to be when there are no more cylinder engines because we only need electric motors.

In 2035 selling new gas-powered automobiles will no longer be allowed.

3 Men Help Elderly Couple Into Car in Touching Moment

Sagemind says...

I'm not questioning the young men at all.
What I do question is the Police officer, who felt it was okay for these two elderly people to drive a motor vehicle.

Woman suffers accident after discussing scooter regulations

This is why Motorized Vehicles should use the bike lanes, and not the sidewalks and crosswalks. They are too fast and will cause accidents mixed in with slower pedestrian traffic.

President Carter on Trump, Russia, and the Election

newtboy says...

What about me? I do all those things and more. I didn't just change my own brakes, I swapped my own motor. I don't just plow my field, I sow, weed, and harvest that field. I've not only repaired a roof, I've built a few. I know hard work, I was a one man desert racing crew. Now that's hard work, being mechanic, transporter, driver, and pit crew....all at 112 degrees.

So, why don't I love Trump? Because I'm a real conservative....ecologically conservative, fiscally conservative, fact based, socially liberal (the government has no place in my bedroom or my body), and insistent on honesty.

Republicans abandoned conservatism before I could vote.

THEY fear us now like one fears the 100lb ranting sore ridden meth head at the bus stop, not for our strength and resolve, but our dangerous unpredictability and diseases.

BSR said:

But what about his followers? They love him. Not for his money but for his anger. His anger against those pussy dems and anyone else that doesn't know how to change brakes on a car or plow a field or throw sod or repair a roof or work real hard.

Trump might not make them richer but he can punish them there weak snowflakes. Make this country tough again! Make the world submit again! Make 'em all fear us again.

Caterpillar D9G donkey start and unloading

newtboy says...

Seems odd a donkey engine uses a pony motor to start.
Where's the chicken brake on that thing?
Does it come with a pig iron blade?
Third generic barnyard themed question?

Don't remember Robotech.

I remember being a Vulcan. I wanted to be Spock. I started to stand with my hands behind my back. Tried not smile. Learned to lift one eyebrow.

Kids. It was a great time in spite having to learn things the hard way.

I got into racing. I felt the need to follow a sport so I could be a part of something, I guess. I liked football but didn't care to play it. Baseball was too boring for me to follow for any length of time. I decided I would follow NASCAR . That was the ticket for me. Been to Daytona several times out of convenience of location. Been to Texas Motor Speedway twice, Atlanta, Talladega twice, Las Vegas, Dover and Charlotte. Part of why I have hearing loss. I love to drive/travel. I haven't owned a car since '95 but have always managed to get around somehow.

EDIT: in case you were wondering, no, I don't have a southern accent. Not that there is "anything wrong" with that.

I've always had a thing for Japanese culture. They seemed as close to Vulcans as humans were likely to get (when I was little at least), and I respect that immensely. That, and I wanted to be a race car driver when I grew up....still do.

How about Robotech? I watched it daily when it aired.

Nice.
When the 302 the jeep came with had issues I replaced it with a 360 from an early Wagoneer that I had rebuilt. Nice thing about amc motors is all v8's are pretty much identical on the outside, so swaps are simple. Same emission control system as yours.

My mustang is a 73 convertible with a 351c.
I remember noticing its emission control ended with routing the PCV to the carburetor.

Very Fine People On Both Sides, Lee Was The Best General

There was this joke about Brezhnev (which might have originated earlier but what do i know) where Brezhnev comes up with this awesome new detente initiative and proposes that the two superpowers should exchange their generals, namely that the USSR should give the US general Voroshilov and general Yegorov in exchange for General Motors and General Electric.

Onboard Bruna Tomaselli: Alex Baron crash in St Petersburg

DrMaximan says...

1) I hope you are okay Alex after that! It looked horrible!
2) I hope that was mechanical failure rather than driver error!
3) If it was driver error - please don't do it again!! (You just need to bend your toes, not hit the gas & you do have brakes - use them, or even better take your foot off the gas a bit earlier!) I am kidding by the way, I'm sure you are a way better racing driver than me , I really do hope you're okay though with nothing more than hurt pride!
4) It can happen to the best of us, don't let it put you off motor sports! I've only written off 2 cars My bad! One was a stripped down, tuned Peugeot 205 1.9 GTI - God I loved that car, absolutely fabulous at cornering - damn trees - LOL! Sometimes you just crash - be happy you walk away, just cry for the car....
5) Good luck Alex! It takes real guts to race! God bless you!

I drove a 76 Brave (18 ft) from the West coast to Florida and back towing a CJ-5. I sure could have used this motor swap over the dodge 318 it had. We struggled up hills.
