Lindsay Lohan Sent to Jail for 90 days

I've been noticing the schadenfreude runs thick when it comes to this situation with Lohan. People around the internet are splooging with glee over the fact that she'll be sent to prison...
Why? I get some people have sad little pathetic lives and they're very happy to smile at someone else's horrible life. Why so much joy though? It's very upsetting to me.

We're sick of no-nothing socialites (Paris Hilton and gang) getting off with a slap on the wrist because of who they are. It is frustrating to people that realize if they did the same thing, the hammer of "justice" would come down on them with full force. Just because she made some shitty movies, she shouldn't have different rights than you or I.

And the bitch thinks she's being tortured. Quick, someone bring me a a water board and some water.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/07/08/lindsay-lohan-defends-her_n_638913.html
From the article:
Later Lindsay vented about "cruel" and "inhuman" punishment. Over several rambling tweets she quoted from the UN Declaration of Human Rights:

It is clearly stated in Article 5 of the U.N. Universal Declaration of Human Rights that...., "No one shall be subjected to torture or to cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment." this was taken from an article by Erik Luna.. "November 1 marked the 15th anniversary of the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines. But there were no celebrations, parades, or other festivities in honor of this punishment scheme created by Congress and the U.S. Sentencing Commission... Instead, the day passed like most others during the last 15 years: Scores of federal defendants sentenced under a constitutionally perverted system that saps moral judgment through its mechanical rules."

In a surprising twist, Lindsay linked to a Newsweek story about Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani, the Iranian mother of two who may be stoned to death for adultery, and asked her followers to retweet. It's unclear whether she meant to lump her 90-day jail sentence with the inhuman punishment Ashtiani faces.

So, you'd rather wait until she killed somebody? Have a good reason to send her to jail?
I feel no pity for this girl. She broke the law. Twice.

I think it's wrong how the courts can fuck up somebodies life to hell when nobody got hurt and nothing happened. Send people to rehab not to jail.

Still if you persist in posing a risk to your fellow citizens, it's simply a practical matter of upping the consequences until you listen.
Don't get me wrong, I don't really care if you're big into the indoor skiing or whatever, but don't get behind the wheel. Then, especially then, don't treat yourself like a higher authority than the court.

Actually most evidence suggests that rehab and therapy does actually work. I know I know the media and all that told you it didn't, silly scientists didn't watch that episode though.

Lindsy Lohan gets 90 days in Jail, Cries, 3 min

GeeSussFreeK says...

title is misspelled. "Lindsay Lohan gets 90 days"

While she may be getting what she justice, I do feel for her. Jail is scary, it isn't a place you want to fine yourself for very long. Hopefully this will be the convincing she needs to not put herself in this situation again.

The DID send her to rehab. Part of the crimes she committed here were for simply not attending the rehab sessions.>> ^Yogi:

That's actually my problem with this whole situation. I see nobody saying we shouldn't get the same she's getting just people saying she should get the same treatment we would get. I think it's wrong how the courts can fuck up somebodies life to hell when nobody got hurt and nothing happened. Send people to rehab not to jail.

I guess I just don't care about these sorts of things. I also don't understand why people like you care about them, I think we shouldn't ever hear about this but I don't get mad at the person that I'm constantly hearing about them. I just turn off the tv.

First of all, I did splooge all over myself: http://www.adamriff.com/images/randy_marsh.jpg
But it wasn't simply because I have some kind of blind hatred for this girl or something. Much like I said in the description of the post, if this were any Jane Doe in America they'd have the book thrown @ them. Cocaine possession? That should be a felony charge for fuck's sake!

Celebrities tend to get away with more because of their celebrity status and their monetary situation. In my opinion when a celebrity is treated fairly it's a small victory for everyone because no one should be above the law. a close friend of hers said:

“Lindsay has been going out, getting on with life as normal. She, and everyone else, genuinely thought that she would be given a bit of a scolding and released. Nobody ever even thought she would do a day in jail,” a source told Pop Tarts. “This is such a shock.”

But come on, she ALREADY got off for what she did:
Hit and run while driving drunk and in possession of cocaine while on a suspended license which she got for drunk driving) = probation???

Then she drinks while on probation and only goes to 20 of 27 required drug and alcohol classes. Come on, if this were anyone else you'd be outraged that something more wasn't done.

Ok Ok lets try this here, apply those charges to this guy. Now he get's some jailtime and everyone is happy. Still feel the same?

Stop crying, you're fucking guilty and you're doing less time than anyone else in your situation would be doing. Read some books while you're in jail.

Is the joy perhaps from seeing such great acting from such an unexpected source?

Because people like to pretend the world is fair. We want to believe that just because you're hot and rich doesn't mean you'll always get away with driving while coked up. We want to know those specimens of humanity who are far more fucked up than us yet still far more successful don't always get everything their way.

Is it just a California thing or is it odd that she still has a driver's license after 2 DUIS?
