Left Behind - Nicolas Cage Official Trailer #1 (2014)

RFlagg says...

...So the Kirk Cameron series based off the same books wasn't enough they had to remake it? What, because Tim LaHaye, one of the original authors of the books, didn't make enough off the original series? The studio decides to remake it so he can get a better cut?

Of course when the movie is panned for Cage's bad acting or anything else, the Christian right will just point out it is the "liberal media" trying to put down the Christian message and not be an actual review of the film's merits.

I'm surrounded daily by people who believe this stuff. Who believe the election of Obama is a sign of the end of times. When climate change gets to the point even they can't deny it anymore, they'll still deny it is human activity and chalk it up to more proof that we're in the end times and it's just like the Bible said. That this nation (somehow the US is special) is being judged for abortion and homosexuality, the last just like Sodom... of course if you point out that the Bible says that the specific sin of Sodom was being a land of plenty and doing nothing to help the needy and the poor, they just change subjects.

Waiting for Armageddon

my favorite was the Left Behind series by Tim Lahaye and Jerry Jenkins... Great fucking series!

If things start happening like is in Left Behind series and some singular person gets israel and palestine to sign a peace treaty, then I will believe 100% that shit is about to hit the fan and prophecy will be fulfilled, since israel and palestine 7 year peace treaty is supposed to be the first act of the antichrist since the antichrist comes as the perfect peace and globalization politician and unites the world in peace... but that peace only supposed to last 3 and half years before christian persecution begins.

course agnostic, but one of the signs have already started since the 90's atheists openly attacking, belittling and hating christians more and more is a sign and 1948 israel becoming a nation is the first. Which is why lot believe IF things follow a path, then 1948 is what kicked things off.

But regardless it is very interesting times, if we don't kill ourselves first or rise up and slay our politicians we'll soon be in full blown persecution of a police state.

hell right now places like Sweden and Iceland enjoy way more freedoms than USA does, USA has lost it's freedom, political correctness has ruined USA

I often wonder what the next big apocalyptic date will be. 2000 had the millennium bug, 2012 is the end of the Mayan calendar. I guess 2036 will be the next big one when Apophis swings by.

Elaine: "According to my source, the end of the world will be on February 14th, in the year two thousand and sixteen."
Peter Venkman: "Valentine's day. Bummer."

Please correct the descriptions. Huckabee clearly said DOCTOR LaHaye. Show some respect.

Only if you think a Doctor of Ministry title granted by a seminary deserves respect. Tom Cruise may be a Doctor of thetan negation. But that wouldn't make me respect him more.

Wooooosh!

Sorry to be picky, but the Bible does quote Jesus as saying he doesn't know when the end will be. Matthew 24:36-37 says: "But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son [Jesus], but the Father alone."

You are right that many Christians have believed in the Wandering Jew who will live until the second coming. Jesus/the Bible are supposed to be infallible and Jesus said in Matthew 16:28: "Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom." It's a pretty interesting trick to get out of a biblical error.

So let me see if I got this correct. The Bible says that God has a set time, and not even Jesus knows what that time is.

Naw man, while Christians have to admit that Jesus said the world would end within the lifetime of his followers, they seriously claim that some secretive super Methuselah is alive today for the sole purpose of making Jesus not wrong. Jesus knew EXACTLY when the world would end; some time between 90AD and however long immortal people live.

Note his jibe towards fellow crackpots Jack Van Impe, Hal Lindsey and John Hagee at 3:20. Hal Lindsey is particularly interesting since he is the most important inspiration for Tim LaHaye and Jerry Jenkins, the authors of the atrocious "Left Behind" books. The premillenial dispentionalist subculture of evangelical christianity is rife with such bickering between adherents of different nuances in their so-called "literal" reading of the Bible.
