ok, lets set the record on matt damon. He is smart, not dumb. I would say he is smarter than any of us, since he wrote Good Will Hunting, and none of us have created anything that brilliant. A hell of a lot better than Team America or any South Park Episode.

Also, Affleck is not stupid either, you would know this if you have ever seen Gone Baby Gone which he directed. And your an idiot if you think matt damon was actually mad and not acting on the Jimmy Kimmel.

it opens with a shitty montage of Rochester, NY and how every tech job at Kodak, Xerox, and Bausch & Lomb has been outsourced.
then it cuts to the protagonist's shitty breakup with a quirky single mom 5 years ago, while his brother develops a shitty crack habit, despite knowing better, because he's the only guy having an even shittier time than the protagonist!

i'm just trying to work in a Good Will Hunting-type ending,
without making it feel like a deus ex machina.

Hey Dag, according to the Adam Carolla radio show (top notch humor, I recommend the podcast especially after they got rid of Danny Bonaduce) Huey hangs out with Jimmy quite often for football parties and fresh baked pizza in Jimmy's brick pizza oven. Sigh...to get the perks of being a star without the publicity and other BS would be so nice... And props to Ben and Matt for having such a good sense of humor to make fun of themselves. Haven't seen that since they did Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back's bit about "Good Will Hunting 2: Hunting Season"

It's also why Damon references Howard Zinn in the bar scene in Good Will Hunting.
