Um, Zimmerman might have followed, and he might have brought the weapon. But all of this is a non-issue so far. Not against the law in most states so far.

Did he punk Travon? Yes. Is that against the law, hell no... Was he being a wanna-be cop? Yes... Again, against the law? No... is it against the law to ignore dispatch? Not here...

But the thing I most strongly disagree with you on Jinx is that "he forced the confrontation." Last I checked rape was force. This was not force. Trayvon just acted like a dumbass kid with what he knew. Not forced at all based on the information. If he was a bit more grown up, or Zimmerman was...

Let me start out by saying I work for a county Sheriff’s Office and will give you some insight or an idea what goes on in an officers/deputies head with any situation (which could pertain to this one)

First, I am a big nerd and have been around computers all my life and the internet so I have seen many police videos online. So let me say first that I agree that there are bad officers out there. Are we all bad? No, but the few ruin it for the many and I’m sorry to see such hate and distrust because of it. The only thing I or any law enforcement can do about that is do our job correctly and wipe the stigma away one person at a time.

Second, when it comes to responding to a 911 call (A call for service), 9 times out of 10 you do not know what you are going to. Dispatch (radio or control whatever moniker you want to use) can only give you the info that the person calling 911 gives them. Say this video instance, that someone from inside the home or a neighbor called 911 because of possible domestic violence going on inside the home. This is usually all the info an officer will get before showing up on scene. Now if the officer approaches the house and tries to make contact and is confronted by a man who has locked his door and is shouting at you, this is going to cause alarm with the office. Not only can he not make contact inside the house to verify if someone is actually hurt or to clear the call as it was made on accident by a neighbor, he has a male subject who is disobeying his commands to answer the door. I’m assuming this officer made a few attempts to make contact before he called for backup (fill units). Now with multiple officers, they will attempt to make contact a few more times. These officers broke down the front door to make contact inside the house. The only reason they would do that is because they saw danger or possible harm to someone inside, or the call made to 911 dictated that there was someone inside the house who was injured or in fear of their life.

To be honest, there are many reasons why responding authorities would break down that door. Maybe the 911 call was from a family member inside the home stating that their brother etc… was off his medications and was threating to hurt himself or others. Maybe he was acting erratic because he was off his meds and police broke down the door due to this individual having a violent past when he stops taking his medications. Maybe there were no meds involved at all and this individual has a violent past so the officers chose to act based on past experiences with said individual.

See, that’s the problem with almost 98% of these videos, WE DON’T KNOW. There are so many possible scenarios that without full disclosure on what went on, what info did the police have, and what were they witnessing on scene. We cannot “Monday night quarterback” these videos. I know videos prior to this have shown officer’s acting in the wrong with all the info available, but that doesn’t give us the right to assume this or others videos are showing officers acting in the wrong. I do not go to work every day planning on hurting people or making false arrests. I have said this many times to people who I have arrested or deal with when they ask “why are you arresting me”, “are you taking that money out of my pocket and stealing it?”, “this is a false arrest!”, my response is your few dollars or property or the statistic of making one more arrest if false is not worth my job. I am not going to make false allegations or take someone’s property that would cause me to lose my job and most importantly my pension. My family relies on me to bring money home so I can provide food and shelter. I would like to think almost every officer/deputy thinks and believes the same. We do what is right, even if during the situation it may seem wrong to others (civilians), we do what we think is right so at the end of the day we can go home to our families and the city/county stays a little safer. That’s my whole day, trying to make the city a better place one call for service at a time, and then get home safe to my family.

I really wish we were appreciated like firemen or military but I know we never will be. Law enforcement only show up when things have gone bad to worse. Nobody ever wants to go to jail. Try having a job where everyone hates you no matter what good you do. Yet we still go to work and put our lives on the line everyday (many of us die each year) so people can sit at home or in there office cubicle and judge videos of our actions. So please try to remember we are not all bad.

I loved his show "The F Word" it was a truer Gordon, He took a bunch of heat from PETA cause he showed his son how to kill a rabbit on the air, they trapped one and broke it's neck backwards for insta kill. Then he had his son dispatch the next one. On a later show he cut a lambs neck to bleed it as it hung upside down then butchered it. Then on another episode brought a deer in draped over his shoulders to the kitchen.

and another episode killing puffin in Iceland got him a lot of PETA controversy.

I love that show The F Word, you can download every uncensored episode on torrent sites like kat.ph or thepiratebay.se since it doesn't air anymore all 4 seasons and they don't censor any of the episodes.

They are only exempt when they are in the execution of their duties that definitively have to involve the location where they are breaking the law unless they are en route to a crime scene/dispatch call.

They cannot just park next to a fire hydrant or otherwise illegally just to pop in to grab a slurpee, for instance.

@deedub81 I absolutely think they ran with a story that followed their narrative, in spite of facts. They were corrected after Romney brought it up at a rally, and then they ran with it and created a 30 second TV spot to double-down on the falsehood.

It was a sad today when as many as 48 bottle of beer gave up their lives today in what bystanders are now calling a truly heroic act.

The fizzy brewskys were just sitting around minding their own business as any respectable bottle of suds would do, when all of a sudden, this guy breaks in into their place and tries to rob the dispatch girl. The groups of beer didn't think twice as they allowed themselves to be pummeled in the direction of the would-be thief giving their lives in exchange for the girl's.

People will gather latter tonight around a ceremonial BBQ to commemorate the dead with several of their relatives and some snacks.

Now that's what I call dispatch.

6:20-6:30 he says Trayvon circled his car. Sounds very intimidating if true, but he never made mention of it that I remember in the 911 call and I think it's something you would note that this guy is outside your car circling it and reaching into his waist band.

Immediately following that he sounds like he's spit balling to me. He couldn't remember which of the TWO streets he was on in his neighbor hood.....

And in the 911 call you can hear him say "he's running" and then exit the vehicle and what sounds like fast-walking/running for a bit due to the wind and his breathing. He makes no mention of getting out to get an address that I can recall in the 911 tape.

8:40 ish, his recounting is much much slower than the time it took place on the 911 call. And I don't recall them asking him if he still wants a police officer.

8:50ish he brings up the "Are you following him?" question from dispatch and then telling him they don't need him to do that.

From the 911 he says he doesn't know the address of where he is. Matches up with his not seeing a street address. But there's two streets in his neighborhood it looks like on google map...so ...seems hinky to me. It's not an overly complex place to just give them landmarks to get to him if he had to.

Then he gives them his address and asks for the officer to call him so he can tell him where he's at.

11 and on sounds made up to me. At 14, someone coming out and him having a coherent conversation goes against witness testimony talking about him being in a daze and seeming out of it when they were talking to him.

So yeah, I think he's mixing enough truth with lies to make it really hard for someone to say otherwise. The tone of this video makes him sound somewhat reasonable, but on the 911 call he was muttering stuff under his breath and talking about assholes getting away and never getting caught...and lots of things not coming up in the 911 call that are in this video...again paint him as the victim when I think anyone else in the situation would have stated they were being circled and driven further away or not exitted the vehicle.

And on top of him perjuring himself along with his wife about how much money he had being off by 150k+ intentionally.......and the website he setup himself with graffiti on OSU black student center....and then all of his myspace accounts that he couldn't delete the content of making him sound like a thug himself and beating charges......

Can't help but feel his true nature came out the night he shot Trayvon and the rest of this is just his act to remain free. Good guy, whose not at all on a power trip or at all over-reacting like his past shows he does when he was brought up on assault charges against a cop, who just wanted to the right thing and protect his neighborhood.

As for trayvon looking around......everything in that video looks the same. He was probably f-in lost if it was getting dark....all of the houses/apartments/condos are the same color and mostly the same shape for most of the video.

Here's the thing about that law it's not typically designed to punish the student, I live in Texas I know, the law is mainly targeted for parents who don't care to make sure their child goes to school or even care if their children get an education period. For some reason truancy in Texas has spiked dramatically in recent years since nothing else they've done seems to work so they've started telling parents that if you don't make sure your kid goes to school you could possibly be faced with jail time for neglect. This is actually the first time I've heard of a student themselves being jailed and I can only assume it's because she has no parents to hold accountable. Do I agree with the law no, do I think this was taken WAY too far in this case, definitely. But I still can't come up with a better answer for getting parents to realize that's it's not okay if you don't make sure your child gets a proper education. I still think these things need to be tried on a case by case basis and if the child is on their own that EVERY available solution should be explored first before resorting to drastic measures like this. That said there are some kids who simply won't go even if you walk them in the door to school every day yourself. If a kid wants to get out of school that bad they'll wait for first period to end and skip class on their own. So what do we do then? What do you do about parents who simply refuse to take their kids to school and also refuse to pull their kids out of school?(Which is entirely legal in Texas, you can pull your kids out of school anytime you wish.) Do we continue to let them waste tax payer dollars, Teacher's time and other children's resources?(For instance some electives only have so many slots per class) I don't know I don't think they should be so cavalier about sending a kid to jail but if you don't take drastic measures with some kids/parents they simply won't listen any other way.
