We'll be seeing a lot of fun with lenses with the advent of video through dslr's.
This is really well executed!

I believe DSLR is a German acronym for "A Whale's Vagina".

Figured I should jump in here and say thanks to everyone for their compliments, Thank you.
The video fell together nice and easy, I cut it and added music in about an hour.
The camera is a Nikon D90 for those interested and is a fantastic DSLR still camera and good as a video gathering device, takes lots of caveats to make video look good, so I certainly understand Farhad2000 reluctance to endorse it as a video camera. It shoots video at 720P @ 24fps and that along with a lens that has a short focal length gives it that warm film feel.
Already looking forward to next years sift-up, and by the way If anyone wants to send along a plane ticket (round trip) to London I would be glad to shoot for their up coming sift-up as well

DSLR is a Digital SLR and SLR is Single Lens Reflex. You can read more at wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_single-lens_reflex_camera) but basically it's one of those bigger, more professional looking cameras than a point-and-shoot camera. It has a mirror inside which reflects what you're aiming at into the eyepiece, and when you snap a shot, that mirror is quickly moved out of the way so the light of your subject is absorbed thru the lens onto the internal sensor.

D is digital. SLR is single-lens-reflex. SLR has come to mean a high end camera with interchangeable, standard format lenses. The things that really distinguish them from point and shoot cameras are fast auto-focus and low shutter latency, larger sensors for less noise or higher dynamic range, and larger lenses for more light / variable depth of field. The viewfinder looks straight through the actual lens and tends to be larger than those on point and shoot cameras (if they even have them). The use of a viewfinder instead of a LCD preview saves a huge amount of batteries - SLRs will easily shoot all day. The lack of a LCD preview can be disadvantageous, though -- you might have less idea of which parts of the image will be too bright / dark. SLRs are also typically higher resolution but that's the least relevant difference. SLRs typically let you shoot in "raw" mode which encodes the higher dynamic range that the sensors capture, but I think this feature is migrating to point and shoot cameras as well. Advanced features include hardware image stabilization, either in the camera body or the lens, and various tricks to keep dust off the sensor.

If that's the case, someone needs to invent DSLR mirrors. I sure could use one.
Nice vid, folks. Well composed and presented.

I work as videographer, I can't help it. We were considering the DSLRs for a corporate project and did an extensive field research project on them.

I thought it was a pretty decent video - and I liked the DSLR aspect
and the singer is my brother.(just kidding). No, we encourage people to email us if they have something that they think would do well here - it's in the FAQ.Long Gone - Music video
Boring music, boring video! The band kinda reminds me of boredom. Another new band for me to not listen to. The fact that it was created entirely from 45,000 Photographs taken by a Nikon DSLR, is not impressive. Animation has been around for something like a hundred years and still every time someone makes an animation film everyone goes: wow! thats so...art...like! It must have taken an eternity! you must be a very patient person! how many images? 45.000?!?! wow thats a large number. you must be able to count very far.
sorry. Hope noone got personally offended.
