Infamous Ferret Dead-Sleep

Seattle officer punches girl in face during jaywalking stop

Wow. A whole bunch of people in a thread, who think they've had some form of police training and/or DF in a police setting. And know the UoF mandate, and all that. Breaking news! That area the kids from the local highschool actively engage in baiting of cars across a major intersection. There is a walkway above the roadway which they refuse to use.
Second thing, title of video is misleading. She wasn't punched for jaywalking, she was punched for assaulting an officer. I'll now return you to your warped world view, where all of you are experts and have no training. Unlike some of us.

Mashiki can you explain to me any reason why the cop was touching the first girl? What is the proper procedure when a officer see's someone jaywalking?

Technically Central America does not include any part of Mexico

My understanding is that it is customary to use either the Isthmus of Tehuantepec or the Trans-Mexican Volcanic Belt is the northerly inland border of north/central America, which, either way, makes a good chunk of Mexico part of central. While Mexico is not considered a "Central American country" since most of it is in North America, everyone I know who lives or grow up in Mexico is of the very clear impression that their country is in both north and central. While I was living in Mexico I flipped through some of the standard elementary curricula, and was surprised that they used the Volcanic Belt as the geographic border, which actually puts DF pretty close to the line.

U.N. Landmine Removal Commercial

The whole thing just seems so over dramatized. How is there an untripped mine on a football field? I don't mind PSA's of this nature, but I don't like my heart strings being forced in a particular direction from some crappy over dramitasation about an event that would never happen. People get hit with mines in 3rd world countries, I get it, I don't need to see some soccer moms screaming over their child's legs getting blow off on the same tract of land that gets moved ever week. It is the advertising equivalent of a cry track. Don't tell me how to feel, just tell me what the problem is and I will decide that.

That's the whole point - the average person can't imagine what it's like to lose a kid to a landmine at random and that's what happens in the 3rd world - it's usually playing kids that randomly just blow up. That wasn't dramatized at all.

IF ANYTHING they took it easy. Try reading about what Boucing Betty landmines do. All the girls on the field would have been killed and most of the parents.

Through the Fire and Flames -=- DragonForce

Well I'm getting 'Video no longer available' in Eurup.

I find it saddening that everyone just knows DF as that band from GH. They are a true power metal band, cheesy and fast. It's all about trying to cram in as much cool words as humanly possible, which they have mastered.

"in flames of death's eternal reign we ride towards the fight"
how cool isn't that?

Quote from: http://www.cracked.com/article_15123_five-most-unintentionally-funny-albums-2006.html
"Even with all the references to battles of steel and the burning of fire and flames, it's still pretty impressive that DragonForce was able to use the word "pain" an incredible 26 times in only eight songs (and that doesn't even count how many times it's repeated in the chorus). After listening to the lead singer's voice and watching their videos, it's most surprising that the word "pussy" doesn't appear once. That word was apparently not included with the Dungeons and Dragons magnetic poetry set the band used to write their lyrics."

Go see the graph on that site! Other words they like include Burn, Fight, Fire, Freedom, Fly, Sky and of course Steel.

F16 Ingests Bird Shortly After Take-off, Crashes Soon After

samnmax says...

Actually, it was T6NL, not D6NL.

The description you got from the video on google isn't totally accurate. There is a report on the accident here:
http://www.airforce.forces.gc.ca/dfs/docs/Fti/CT155202_e.asp

The reason the plane has an English accent is because it's a plane exported from Britain. It is not an 'F-16' but is actually a CT-155, described here:
http://www.airforce.forces.gc.ca/15wing/aircraft/ct155_e.asp

The pilots did not escape unharmed. According to the first link, 'One crewmember was seriously injured in the sequence and the other received minor injuries.'.
